SHANE GIBSON'S FINAL TWO CONTRACTS SIGNED WITH THE CITY JANUARY '12

Mr. Gibson has secured 2 (two) contracts for this year, 2012.  We will publish one at a time.

First one:

Since the reader won't be able to discern the information without printing the page and enlarging it on a photocopier, the following is the actual text.

This Agreement for Services (this "Agreement") is made and entered this 13th day of January, 2012, by and between Shane L. Gibson dba Gibson Law Office, LLC (the "Gibson"), and the City of New Albany (hereafter referred to as "City").  Gibson and City agree as follows:

respect to the Planning/Zoning, Redevelopment, and

     2.  Gibson's duties and responsibilities shall include,

but not limited to, attendance at respective board

opinions, and draft legal documents for said departments.

     3.  Gibson may participate in the City insurance program

and pay any costs associated therein.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's with those billable hours? How much is Stan Robinson being paid? You state their ARE two contracts? Has Gahan lost his mind?

Anonymous said...

This is all the proof I need to see that England is still running the City of New Albany. Gahan must go.

Anonymous said...

So, we're still paying an idiotic, inept person who somehow managed to obtain a law degree. I've worked closely with Gibson. Key part of that sentence: I've worked.

Gibson has piddled.

We are getting ripped off. Gibson is not worth ANY price, not even $100/hour for the first 25 hours.

As for the idea that he wants to be prosecutor-I'll write it like one of you on here writes it: YELL, RIGHT!

Anonymous said...

DOES THIS CONTRACT MEAN THAT GAHAN IS PAYING 2 CITY ATTORNEYS ? IF WE ARE PAYING GIBSON TO DO THE WORK LISTED IN THE CONTRACT, THEN WHY ARE
WE PAYING ROBISON TO BE CITY ATTORNEY ?

Anonymous said...

I have the same question that some of you do. What kind of contract does Stanley Robison have? How much is he being paid?

Anonymous said...

It's a legal contract...nothing illegal about that. You may not like it, but it's legal.

Anonymous said...

Do the math... He is making half what he was before.

Anonymous said...

No. He's not making half. Let's not fudge here.

Anonymous said...

The City of Jeffersonville Department of Law employs two full-time attorneys who are responsible for all legal representation, enforcement of both city ordinances and Indiana statutes and legal advice for the mayor, departments, board and commissions.

I think someone's jealous. Really, and not just a snarky comment here. It's a hard world out there, and it's hard to find a job that pays what you need it to to survive. YOU may not think he's worth it- but it's the going rate in that field. That kind of salary is gained by years and years of schooling and experience- and in our world now where you can't make a living off of minimum (or even $3 above) wage, those years and investments are valued immensely.

Anonymous said...

Whatever. I think what these people are saying is that Gibson isn't worth paying, isn't worth keeping on the job, and has had what my sons call an "epic fail" in his tenure as an attorney working for the city in ANY capacity. As far as I can tell, the only credentials he has to recommend him is that he's in tight with the good ole boys.

Also, read carefully. This contract does not encourage Gibson to keep his work down to the initial 25 hours per month. In fact, it gives him plenty of incentive to work as many hours as possible.

But, until you people stop electing good ole boys in your city, you're up sh*t creek without a paddle.

9:12 #1, if Gibson needs a job, let him hang out a shingle and stop mooching off the public. That's what other lawyers do.

9:12 #2, you're right. Unfortunately.

Anonymous said...

Go to law school yourself. You could have a career too.

Anonymous said...

It would be quite a step backward to become a lawyer. What I do runs circles around your career, Shane.

Anonymous said...

Gibson is like that party boy lawyer in Wedding Crashers, except he is a taxpayer crasher, get rid of that mooch Gahan youre such a fool and a joke of a mayor, what did gibson find you some money to pour into your failing business and then got you the big bucks for mayor, youre a sell out carl gahan

Anonymous said...

4:42 - You are mean and jealous. It is just sad how you are so jealous. Maybe you should brush up on your punctuation and you could get a job.

Anonymous said...

hey grammar police get a job yourself and drink another beer Baylor

My opinion said...

8:46 you think so? Well wait until you see the second contract you will think differently. In fact I talked with a CPA he said any enity or business who allows an attorney billable hours is setting themself up to get screwed big time by the attorney who gets billable hours. Makes a lot of sense to me.

Anonymous said...

6:28 is either Gibson or his party animal wife. 4:43, it's true that if you give a lawyer billable hours, you're screwed. In this case, you're getting screwed big time because as the second 9:12 pointed out, there's no incentive whatsoever for Gibson to keep to a 25-hour-month contract when he gets more per hour starting with hour 26.

Anonymous said...

I never thought Jeff was the sharpest tool in the drawer but I have concluded he is not qualified to be Mayor. Any mayor who allows a contract like this should be recalled or removed from office one way or another.
Keep the pressure on them KT, you folks are doing a great job!

Anonymous said...

Yes, great job, KT. Keep on it.

Anonymous said...

Oh, phew. Good thing YOU have concluded. Clearly, you must be right.

Anonymous said...

Are all of our cops on the take?

I told them about 4 0r 5 houses that are drug houses and they don't do nothing.

Anonymous said...

gahan is probably smoking crack, how else can you explain his complete oblivion to the idiocy and the shadow doug england govt still running things

Anonymous said...

Believe it....6:28 is another person who thinks you are mean and ignorant. Yep. There are more of us than you think. We laugh about it all of the time.

Anonymous said...

Um...why did a pit bull attack a mailman today in New Albany in front of the White House, and no one was arrested?

Anonymous said...

Wow, I could understand not liking the $150k contract but still nitpicking on this, you all seem to think an attorney is cheap... There is nothing unreasonable or unusual about this contract and to say otherwise speaks more of those doing the talking than the contracts at issue. Maybe you should find some real issues to focus on

Anonymous said...

9:01 I guess you didn't read the above statement, there's more than one contract. Geez Louise, what is wrong with you people? We're getting screwed big time. Wait until Gibson screws up with EPA and we get f-i-n-e-d, then you'll really be bitching then!!!!!!!!

God help us all.

Anonymous said...

You need to post a new story. These are old news.

Anonymous said...

Did anything ever happen over the shoving incident? Or was it swept under the rug like everything else around here?

Anonymous said...

Jeffrey G. You Work For Me!

Anonymous said...

Why would you want to change postings? Everyone needs to read these contracts so these 'piggy's' to the trough are exposed.
Thank you to whom ever made this all possible, citizens have a right to know. Share this with a friend or a family member.

Anonymous said...

Gibson never made $150k in private practice I asked Nick Stein. He sure didn't make that kind of money working in the prosecutors office. The judges make $130k and he's not a better attorney than any of them.

Tell me he's not over paided.

Taxpayer said...

Look at the last four cases he represented us taxpayers. He's 0-4.

My opinion is this: I personally would like to say goodby Gibson, your a lazy good for nothing leach. If anyone has the balls to get rid of these over paid lazy cr$$ks that's who will get my vote next time and I want that in writing. Great job Kitchen Table you make my day.

My family and I want to personally thank Citizens for Accountability. This is a group that will roll up its sleeves, carry a sign and put their money where their mouth is, and rally around a good cause. Fighting for you and our family.

Thank you again,

Anonymous said...

Thank you Kitchen Table for putting this contract on here. We all want to see who is ripping us off.

Anonymous said...

Who is researching impeachment/recall process for a sitting mayor? Has he really done things he needs to be ushered out of office for? People get the government they deserve unless they work hard to change things as KT, Freedom of Speech, and yes...NA Confidential

Anonymous said...

wont need to recall gahan when the attorney general is through with him he will be lucky to even be a free citizen, enjoy being mayor while you can wont last long, aint no pot of gold at the end of your rainbow, better eat some more lucky charms irish joke

Anonymous said...

There is something drastically wrong with these contracts. No one attorney can stay on top of our sewers deal with EPA and the other boards Gahan has him on. Why are we paying Stan Robinson?

Anonymous said...

OK, 617, you mentioned the AGs office;, but with all due respect, they are not investigating the city budget, malfeasance, hiring/firing policies, employer provided healthcare issues, or even publically witnessed assault incidents between city officials. New Albany is doomed unless real concrete steps are taken, if not to remove the mayor, to demand open books and for God's sake, to get the books straightened out.

Anonymous said...

Also Shane is doing parks agreements also and Stan is meeting with the mayor and doing the total opposite. We need your help for the parks . Gahan does not know what he is doing to us on our parks. With Stan running around touting that he is putting them on notice to sue the county for previous years of money. The agreement is putting our parks in jeopardy . Please get out and help our parks staff they our doing a wonderful job and you can not find a finer person to work for then Roger Jeffries . It's about the people in this community not the mayor and his grudges!!!

Anonymous said...

in a word gahan sucks, i bet even his wife thinks so

Anonymous said...

I don't get this about the Parks? To many chiefs and not enough Indians.

Go UK, PITINO'S NEXT. Let's kick some butt next week. My money is on UK.

Anonymous said...

Gibson is still 0-4 why would we pay him anything if he delivers nothing.

Anonymous said...

the street commissioner posting on here yeh its you who else is a big UK fan and defends Gahan, go back to KY boy

Anonymous said...

Gahan on vacation not even been in office his first quarter
yet.

Anonymous said...

All of you uk and ul fans---remember which side of the river you live on----head on back over---but please turn in your shoes first.

Anonymous said...

Have you been to Community Park lately. Trash everywhere. What do the park employees do. I guess nothing. been going to the park for many years and the same trash is around the lake that has been there for years looks terrible.

Anonymous said...

Gahan never reads the blogs, yell right, he's to busy looking for the mole on the third floor or how about the entire City County Building? See what happens when you burn bridges Mr. Gahan. Only 3 years and 8 months to go.

Anonymous said...

less than that once he is removed for official misconduct by the State

Anonymous said...

Gahan has not taken care of vacation on John and Carl who is going push the issue. That an extra 4 weeks paid!!!

Anonymous said...

Community Park is owned by the county. Maybe someone should attend a meeting and mention this to the county commissioners and council.

C'mon, little people...at least ATTEMPT to make sense.

Anonymous said...

Love the current FOS article. Glad to see them up in Washington fighting Obamacare. They sure put their money where their mouth us. Those folks are awesome.

Anonymous said...

Me too. Glad to see Prof. Erik leading the fight against Obummercare.

Anonymous said...

So sad that you want folks to die because they can't get insurance.

Anonymous said...

Yes, so many fine Christians here in Electric Larry Land.

Get a Life said...

FYI, No hospital can refuse to give medical treatment. Your statement is worthless 2:21. I applaud Prof. Erik for standing up for what he believes in.

Anonymous said...

Hospitals cannot refuse treatment if it is a life or death case. They can refuse treatment for any illness that is not critical.

That is why ins. is so expensive. The uninsured must wait until they are at death's door to get treatment and then it costs thousands to save them. Then the insurance goes up for the insured.

And it's not that people don't want insurance, a lot of companies don't provide it and the cost of individual policies is through the roof.

So, get a life yourself.

Anonymous said...

Is anyone still looking in to our tax payers money concerning Steve Bush and Keith Henderson spending our money on his own defense.

Anonymous said...

I worked many years without insurance. When i started the job my employer gave great insurance. Then greed set in and he realized how much money he could put in his pocket by not giving us insurance. He tried to make up the difference by raising our pay. That lasted 2 years. Then he cut our pay again. I had 3 kids at the time and paying all those medical bills sucked. In the land of milk and honey the wealthy who can afford it should offer health insurance for their employees. Greedy employees should be fined for not offering it. I don't care what you call it but human life has no price tag. If you want to go a little further. Smokers should not be covered for any type of lung or skin situations. Smoking is a choice. Not an illness. and has been proven to cause cancer so that should be void from coverage. Overweight people should not be covered for an illness caused by overeating or not exercising. Stuffing yourself with food is a choice. Not an illness. There are a lot of things to improve the health insurance system but no one has the BALLS in Washington to do it.

Anonymous said...

we got an insurance mess right here in new albany brother, part time city employees, I mean full time city council greeds taking insurance oh yeh and the england garry linck fiasco, ole gahan will probably find a way for all his family to get insurance too I mean you think he will stop with his son in law.
