GET ON YOUR MARKS. . .

WELL, MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE EVERYTHING ALL DUSTED OFF AND GLUED BACK TOGETHER.  WE HAVE OUR PICTURES AND ANSWERS TO THE QUESTIONS READY FOR THE INSIDE OF THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER (PROBABLY THE ONLY FREE NEWS HE WILL GET).

WE GOT AHOLD OF THE LATEST PRECINCT AND DISTRICT MAPS AND THE LISTS OF THE COMMITTEE PERSONS AND THE VICE COMMITTEE PERSONS.  CALLED THEM ALL UP, BUT THEY SEEM TO BE PRETTY SET IN THEIR WAYS.  GO FIGURE.  WONDER WHO APPOINTED THEM?  WE'LL HAVE TO WORK AROUND THIS ISSUE AND STUMP IT TO THE PEOPLE, ON THE GROUND.

HE HAS ALREADY HAD A BUNCH OF PUBLIC MEETINGS BUT I'M NOT THAT SURE HOW MANY VOTES IT'S GOING TO GET HIM.  THOSE PEOPLE ARE MOSTLY SLATED TO THOSE SEATS BY THE POWERS THAT BE SO I GUESS IT ONLY MAKES SENSE.  THEIR MINDS ARE ALREADY MADE UP.  MOVE ON, WORK THROUGH IT.  REMINDER:  PUT THAT ON HIS LIST.

WHO ARE HIS VOTERS?  LET'S SEE.  OKAY.  WE GOT OUR LIST OF VOTERS IN EACH PRECINCT.  HE'S ALREADY TOLD ME WHO'S RELATED TO WHO AND WHO IS WHO AND, WELL, LET'S JUST SAY CHECK MARK.

ALL OF THESE FISHFRYS AT KNIGHTS AND THE MEET THE CANDIDATES AT THE HIGH RISES AND THE DEBATES AND WALKING DOOR TO DOOR IN THE NEIGHBORHOODS; WELL, LET'S JUST SAY IT'S GOING TO BE BUSY.  HE'S CALLED EVERYONE AND THEIR BROTHER ABOUT PUTTING SIGNS IN THEIR YARD.  I THINK HE'S BUSHED FROM IT.

OKAY.  WE GOT THE T-SHIRTS IN TO WEAR AND THE BROCHURES ARE MOVING.  WE'VE STARTED OUR GROUND ASSAULT.

WE ARE READY....(AFTER THAT ISN'T IT... SET... AND THEN... GO)?

P.S.  WE JUST GOT NOTICE WE GET TO HIT THE PRACTICE TRACK TOMORROW.  WISH US LUCK.

A vote for the following candidates:

Stumler, Coffey, Baylor, Smith, Maury, Phipps and Timberlake.

is a vote for Doug England

The New Albanian said...

Good thing I've never agreed with Coffey on anything.

Right on 1:40!

It's a GREAT time to get out on the track. Been out there with a couple of friends every night for the past few days. Feels great to be out doors.

Actually a vote for etheridge is a vote for stumler. Etheridge has no chance to win and if he garners 350-500 votes he is handing the office of mayor to stumler. It is just the way it all pans out.A vote for gahan or etheridge is a vote against england and stumler.

Anonymous said...

Just read Freedom of Speech this week. I liked everything it said. I do not know Mr. Gahan, but I hope he really means it about cleaning house downtown. I really, really, REALLY do! We live in a governmental sewer. No one I know out of town lives anywhere like this. It's nothing short of miserable.

Recently, we've gotten some people in office who give us a glimmer of hope and the loudest, most obnoxious voices tear them down while the secret powers that be make deals to get rid of them. It's sickening. Never saw the like before, and I wish I were back in college.

What's this questionaire the NAFD Union put in our mailbox? At least I guess they put it in the mailbox because it had stamps on the envelope but didn't look like the post office ran it through.

Anonymous said...

Here's a question for you? Actually, a FEW questions:

1. Why do unions put pressure on candidates to sign that they're 100% with them? No public servant worth his/her salt goes 100% of the time with ANY entity. Why do unions expect that they will/should and thereby demand candidates' allegiance?

2. Unions put money behind certain candidates (those who sign their allegiance), and then do ads and signs showing their candidates and their support of them. This often gets them elected by ignorant voters who simply see their names over and again, or see an endorsement by, say, the firemen, and think that these are the "good" candidates. Yet, when the teachers union recently supported three candidates for the School Board, we ended up with three "yes people" (not all are men) who have made stupid votes and passed all kinds of things that are, in the end, BAD for our schools. How is it that history continues to repeat itself?

3. Even within the Democratic Party, there's so much disagreement and fighting. How can we as voters get past this to find out who would do the best job? How can we get other people to read the responses to the Tribune questionnaire, for example, thereby moving beyond all the sound bites and sign pollution?

4. And, finally, why is it that our firefighters think it's OK to demand that candidates sign a stupid paper or else not get any backing from them? This is very odd, to my way of thinking. Of course, I've noticed that not ALL of the firefighters were aware of this little envelope of goodies. This means, obviously, that not ALL the firefighters are/would be on board with this. Wonder if the questionnaire writers realize that.

The New Albanian said...

I received the firefighter questionnaire. It doesn't seem unreasonable. It's just a request for information.

Anonymous said...

If it's just a questionnaire, that's one thing. If it's a signing of allegiance, that's another.

Anonymous said...

New Albanian, you wouldn't say a request from 1SI is just a request for information. You'd say it was an agenda.

The New Albanian said...

If 1Si sent me anything in the mail, I'd first check it for white powder.

Anonymous said...

Thought so.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone seen where you have to sign and date it in agreement with each statement. That's bull shit.

I don't thnk it's legal?

Anonymous said...

Surely, Roger your not going to sign any type of an agreement?

The survey was sent to candidates.

It doesn't matter if I sign or not. No one can read my signature, anyway.

"Disciplined Unity" You don't need to worry about that - it's the current administration's style.

"It doesn't matter if I sign or not. No one can read my signature." Sounds like the current administration's style, too.

Interesting.

People should have went to the council meeting to see our GREAT council in progress. They voted 350,000 dollars to fix Helen Ct. drainage problems! hahahhahha...the 350,00 dollars is going to the developer to develop the property not to the drainage issue! like i said hahahahaha way to go Gahan! The money is going to be flipped to the "developer"! You all thought you got over on the people! This is the type of Mayor you want in office!??? Sounds like another England! You all KNEW what you all were doing! You should have done 3 readings but you ONLY HAD ONE!!! If you want to check it out, go and ask for the min. at the meeting!

Anonymous said...

The above comment was copied from a previous post. Unfortunately the "lead topic" of this blog was changed right after this comment was posted. I "copied" this posting so we can keep focus on the real issue. If you don't keep this comment running..well one can only ask. Who is running this blog? It might as well be a GAHAN 4 Mayor website...OH but he doesn't even have that. He was caught doing the same type crap that got our city into this mess. Post this and let people really know how he is "connected" to our existing system.

Anonymous said...

Ellen Court drainage problems where none exist - I think that's the issue you are talking about. Yes, couldn't get over the Council arbitrarily listened to the wonderful Carl tell of the need.

Anonymous said...

Who is the developer getting the check? That's the real interesting point. Also....sliding it through three readings in one night. They are giving money to fix an non-exist problem. And Gahan is right in the middle of this! He is a Doug Jr in the making.

Anonymous said...

Yes, well, they think they can pass something like $35,000 for the nonexistent Ellen Court "drainage problems" because no one will go over there and check. It's asinine. Also, it's crooked.

Anonymous said...

Should have went to the council meeting?? Etheridge must have written this.

Anonymous said...

BTW---Paul, the sign you put at the end of Rainbow Dr. and Charlestown Road is private property. Gahan got permission, you did not.I know the owner.

Anonymous said...

Are the candidates really getting on here? I only know of one, fully named, candidate who gets on these blogs. Are there others? Does Gahan get on here? Etheridge? Stumler surely doesn't.

Anonymous said...

Baylor is the only one who comes on here using his own name, but then also as anonymous as he poses as other candidates.

The New Albanian said...

Someone here actually called me Rog and not Baylor? Best check the kitchen linoleum house rules, because it almost sounds friendly.

Yes, Josh submitted his notice a few weeks ago. We have promoted from within staff, which usually is our preference, and matters should proceed normally even though Ma and Pa Kettle continue to pray we fail.

An in-house promotion is hooded? That's, um, interesting, even if YOUR mamma didn't teach you much about manners. Best drain another couple of Kessler and Cokes.

It is my understanding that Josh will be working at the new Harvest restaurant on Market Street in Louisville. We'll carry on, just like we always have.

We knew about Josh leaving three weeks ago and besides that we also knew about Dan Coffey being sued for FRAUD & Conspiracy too!

Btw, get your facts correct: Nikki Price bought the house from Dan Coffey NOT Steve Price. Steve Price got title insurance to protect him self from Coffey.

Smart move Price...your ass is covered but Dan's in deep shit-now!

Guess whose related to the ones doing the sueing?

Thersea Timberlake, candidated picked and backed by Douglas B. England & Irv Stumler!!!!!!!!!

How about some more dirt?

We got copies of the complaint and evidence against Dan Coffey too.

Anonymous said...

There are some joined at the hip relationships some simply won't admit. Coffey, Goldberg, Walker and England are joined at the hip, whether you like it or not. It's been this way for a long time.

Hopefully Steve's Title Insurance he took out will handle this mess with Coffey.

And, of all things, Coffey is speaking badly about Big John and saying John M. did this to him and that it's all political.

What I don't understand is why Henderson didn't take Coffey down for this or if there will be less evidence required to do it in civil court.

Yes, the elderly lady gave Coffey Power of Attorney but that would have expired at her time of death. You have to wonder if Coffey didn't get her to sign something while she was in such bad health.

Oooheee that smell.

Anonymous said...

Ever why Goldberg lives behind all of those security bars? I have.

Seems to be several candidates dirt being unshoveled.

One candidate, or really more than one, still do not understand the inner workings of the "parties" that be (used loosely Dems/Pubs).

Never assume, just because they tell you so.

Anonymous said...

So much for Baylor just running against the Republicans

Anonymous said...

My understanding ia the lady left the house to her kids (in a will) or at least two of them and Dan sold the house anyway. I understand Dan is upset Price went to his bank and the banks atty. contacted the title company to file a claim that's the reason for the extentions.

Not a smart move on Dan's part at all.

Anonymous said...

Rog is just in his typical insecure mode. He has to talk bad about others to try and make his sorry self look good. This is typical trait of rog. We've seen it time and time again.

Anonymous said...

While I've never been "Rog's" biggest fan, I don't like all this anonymous dissing either. If attacking an individual, it's better to do so face to face, name to name. If you want to discuss issues, that's another matter. Remain anonymous to discuss ISSUES only.

Anonymous said...

the issue is rog and that is what is being discussed. he is running for at large.

Anonymous said...

And Roger don't have a chance I guess is what we are trying to say.

Yeah, well, that shows how much the ignoramuses that should be thinking about this but are not thinking about this issue, went AWOL, even though they SHOULD be thinking about this issue. What a buncha morons.

tic tic tic

is Gahan going to answer or not?

Anonymous said...

Oh Roger is planning his attack on Gahan now. Seen this trick of his played time and time again. Gahan will get ripped by Baylor whether he answers or not. Nobody cares about Rog and we all have seen what little influence Rog has on voters anyways. This is just a way for Roger to try and get his name out there hoping he might garner a vote or two. YAWN

The New Albanian said...

You're wrong about that, and I've already told you why: Because Jeff Gahan's feeling for the importance of economic localization is spot on. Both his heart and his brain are in the right place, and for that reason, I'm willing to move past our disagreement on redistricting.

My hunch is that most of my friends will disagree with me on this point, but I didn't ask their position before publishing my essay yesterday.

If Jeff does not answer, what will happen is this: I will not vote for a mayoral candidate, because neither Etheridge nor Stumler has shown me anything thus far.

Anonymous said...

What do you mean Etheridge and Stumler haven't shown you anything "thus far?" Of course they have.

If we don't get this city into a buy local mindset, we all might as well pack up and move out of town. This place with its phony sense of local business leaves me scratching my head and wondering how my great-great-grandparents ever found New Albany a progressive and bustling place to live! Never lived anywhere else, but it makes me want to move to watch the ignorant crap that goes on around here.

Anonymous said...

Cant teach an old dog new tricks, but a politician wanna be will play any trick he can.

Anonymous said...

Let'd be resl honest here. Rog, you don't have the "smarts" (understanding and comprehension) to "keep-up" with the intellectual level here. "You know you don't."

Your ignorance is astounding. You always want more and to hell with everyone else. Run your campaign an act like a candidate instead of a bully.

He is a smart businessman and a true asset to New Albany.

Anonymous said...

Stumler is a millionair because he is so old.

Anonymous said...

Is a millionaire the type of person we want running this city? Seems a millionaire would be out of touch with the reality of the common citizens of this community. Most of us dont live up on the hill in a big house looking down on the common folks and being thankful we dont have their problems.

Don't understand why at 75 Stumbler wouldn't want to just retire and spend time with his lovely wife Pat.

Floyd solid waste district gets interim director

The district’s board named Lopp to oversee daily operations of the recycling agency during a 90-day program review announced earlier this month when it FIRED former director Warren Nash.

Anonymous said...

I still don't get why they fired Nash...He doing something illegal on the side?

Anonymous said...

Warren Nash was not doing anything illegal in front on the side or in back.

He was fired strictly because certain people did not want him in that position.

Anonymous said...

It truly was political - the question is Nash is use to politics, why not come out and say it was political? And I thought they had/have Mary Lou whoever slotted for that position.

BAYLOR, YOU EVIDENTLY AREN'T EVEN AWARE WE CAN NOT MAKE BOND PAYMENTS ON THE BONDS THIS CITY HAS NOW. WE ARE ONLY MAKING THE INTEREST PAYMENTS. NOW, HOW DOES THAT EQUATE TO WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY IN OUR COFFERS WE SHOULD HAVE. AND EITHER YOU AGREE, OR YOU DISAGREE.

IF YOU KNOW THEY CAN'T EVEN GET THE BUDGETS RIGHT, CAN'T MAKE OUR BOND PAYMENTS (ONLY THE INTEREST), CAN'T CONSOLIDATE AND UTILIZE THIS GOVERNMENT MORE EFFICIENTLY, THEN I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOU ARE SAYING TO VOTERS AND WHAT THEY ARE SAYING TO YOU. IT'S NOT JUST AN ELITE FEW YOU'RE CATERING TO.

GO TALK ABOUT SOMETHING YOU DO KNOW ABOUT. THE CURRENT FINANCES OF THIS CITY YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. JUST ADMIT IT. RATHER THAN ASSUMING, PLEASE.

Anonymous said...

Well, maybe Nash should have been fired. I thought the reason stated in the paper was lame.

Now, we've got Coffey and Price embroiled in controversy. What in the HECK is this all about?

Just reading, on the surface, it doesn't sound like Coffey had to have been up to something no good. Price seems mighty quick to distance himself, yet, all he did was buy the house--at a steeply discounted price.

THIS is why this city needs a major facelift. We need to get rid of everyone in town who's in office with VERY few exceptions.

Anonymous said...

Warren Nash did nothing wrong except make the wrong people mad at him.

All Price did was buy a house, people do that every day. He should have distanced himself from Coffey years ago.

Anonymous said...

Price should have known better than to trust Coffey, if Coffey is so shady. Seems to me, they're both in a bad spot. Might just be their own faults.

I really don't appreciate your comment 7:22. This blog has said that they don't want to be your "bully pulpit." Guess what a comment like you just posted is--a bully pulpit comment.

Any candidate's sexual orientation has N-O-T-H-I-N-G to do with how well he or she can serve the city of New Albany by serving on the council.

Want proof? Look at the mess we're in with the Council being occupied by heterosexual representatives. Guess what--it's a M-A-J-O-R F-A-I-L.

Your comment is ignorant and despicable and you need to settle down.

Redneck [sic] comment not welcome either. Geez. I don't care if you sign your name or not, Mr. Nash, it's uncalled for for even YOU to get on here and call people simple-minded and redneck.

Whatever happened to civility around here?

Matt Nash said...

Name calling, which has long been tolerated and even encouraged on this blog, is slightly different from hate speech.

When more people in New Albany recognize the difference, our world will be a much better place.

Two wrongs, don't make a right, I understand, but I was trying to make a point.

Anonymous said...

even encouraged? Reading the wrong blog?

People have a right to know if you are married or whatever. It doesn't bother me for Greg Phipps to say he's gay, everyone already knows and the voters do have a right to know. But the terminology you used is bigoted, mean spirited and crude.

Tell you buddy Randy Smith he has signs in the right of way and they aren't even in the district he is running in. What's up with that?
No where else to put them?

Anonymous said...

Hate speech is hate speech. I realize that it is currently sort of politically correct to think of name calling toward, say, African-American people or homosexual people, makes you MORE GUILTY of hatred than your calling a local politician a "simple minded, backwoods redneck."

Hate is hate.

Anonymous said...

This gay-bashing stuff is nothing more than an attempt to dish Phipps and booster Price. Whatever the reason, its bad, but I also agree with 10:44. Hate speech is hate speech.

As for whether someone is married or not married or gay or living with someone has nothing in my mind to it as to weather or not they can work in local government or any government and they should keep that kind of talk out of the duscussion unless they don't mind digging up their own dirt and having unfair crap throne at them! For example, Price is claiming that this thing about the old ladies house deal is "politically motivated." Yell well, it may be and it may not be. But it is still serious. Yet, does he want this dirt out their about him? No. Yet, does he want that "dirt" out about "gay" Phipps? Yes. That's pretty dirty-dog politics in my book.

Anonymous said...

I like Greg Phipps. I disapprove of gay-bashing. Also, I think that his ability to serve has nothing to do with whether or not he's gay, straight, married, unmarried, parent, childless. It matters HOW he will govern.

I disagree with him only on the subject of abortion, but this doesn't really matter in the city council, so it, too, is a non-issue.

Also, not everyone on the Kitchen Table blog is backward and gay-bashing. Let that be known (Rog) while you're talking about us.

Anonymous said...

nash and baylor are both haters. they spend more time spewing out hate than anything else.

Anonymous said...

Every voter has the right to know if you are married or not and want to know. No matter what you think or say. I know someone who forgot to put that in their brochures and lost votes because they didn't say whether they were married or single.

A Price Supporter said...

Nikki Price bought the house as part of the divorce agreement. Councilman Price done a title search and nothing came up on it. Because he done a title search the title company is liable not Price.

What they forgot to report is Stan Robinson done the paper work and Timberlake is relate4d by marriage to one of the woman sueing.

So my question is how has Price done anything wrong?

He has filed a claim against the title company and they will be investigating Dan.

So deal with the facts instead of assuming Price has done something illegal.

Mr. Phipps supports giving tax abatements to residents who move downtown which is a blant case of discrimination on the rest of us homeowners.

Read his page and decided are you willing to vote for someone who has NO clue in what he is doing and has not attended many council meetings in the last 4 years.

Say what you want about Price but he's been right more than he has been wrong.

As they say if it is not broke don't try to change it or fix it!

New Albany workers accused of burglary while on duty.

Two New Albany storm water workers were jailed Friday morning on burglary and theft charges after allegedly breaking into a vacant home and taking construction materials while on duty.

Cory Smith, 34, and Jordan Rummage, 29, are being held in the Floyd County Jail pending court appearances next week, Police Chief Todd Bailey said. He said the men were arrested after police responded to a report of a burglary in the 800 block of Linden Meadows about 9:30 a.m. A city truck used by the men was also found in the area, he said.
The home was one of several relocated to the area several years ago to make way for an expansion of Floyd Memorial Hospital. Many of the homes are vacant because of a stalled renovation project.

I'm on here checking in. Lots going on, obviously.

27, I am a Republican. I do not hate gays, nor do I make any judgment against them. Republicans who judge people based on things like sexual orientation annoy me very much.

It will surprise you to know that our local Republican State Representative Ed Clere voted against the marriage amendment, thereby voting against an amendment that does nothing but pronounce its hatred of gays. I stand behind Ed Clere as do MANY other Republicans.

It seems the nut jobs in both parties are the ones people hear about. You think all Republicans are against gays; I used to think Democrats are against all entrepreneurship. Both of these ideas are wrong, just as both ideas, as put forth in the media, further promulgate the very crime which we all decry: prejudice.

For you to say that the Republicans hate gays is letting your prejudice show.

I'm not much older than you (34), but I've learned that judgment by anyone against ANY group is still judgment. We should all keep ourselves from labeling and engaging in hate speech (but not acknowledged as such simply because we are not talking about a group that has been historically held back).

You'll learn a lot in the next seven years and so will I. I hope you come on here more often, 27. I get tired of being just about the only voice of youth on here.

As for the $42.5 million bomb England "fully supports." Yes. Let's talk about that for awhile. What on earth is this project really about, is what I'd like to know?

Anonymous said...

Republicans don't hate gays they love them very much, it's all over the news every couple of months.

They just don't tell their wives.

Anonymous said...

lol! Don't forget the LogCabin Republicans, as in Carl and Steve and the 45 million dollars, lol!

The paper isn't printing this tidbit. The reason Price had to get an extension on filing a response is so the title insurance company can prepare the response. The Title Insurance Company is going after Coffey, too. Poor thing.

Anonymous said...

This dumb story about Coffey and Price is penny-ante compared with Bruce Hibbard and the secret raise he got. Keep an eye on the C-J this week. It's coming out, I can tell you, plus a possible shake-up in the school board. Think they can be gotten rid of for giving Hibbard a secret raise even BIGGER than he was supposedly going to get given back a couple months ago (I think that one was $26K).

You people ought to get your gossip out of the small alleged deeds of Coffey and Price and onto something that is robbing the taxpayer blind.

Anonymous said...

Looking forward to the information. Thanks.

Anonymous said...

Is Gregg Phipps a Log Cabin Republican? Aren't they good friends with Carl and Steve who's names are being floated in the paper in conjunction with the 42 million dollar bomb?

The New Albanian said...

Congratulations. Not a single bit of this makes sense.

It will surprise you to know that our local Republican State Representative Ed Clere voted against the marriage amendment, thereby voting against an amendment that does nothing but pronounce its hatred of gays.

Clere is saying that he's against the amendment for procedural reasons, not because he supports civil rights in the form of same sex marriage. Presumably he's afraid (politically) of the foaming-at-the-mouth tea baggers, i.e., folks like 34.

Republicans in support of civil rights? Is that even legal hereabouts?

Anonymous said...

I never said Log Cabin Republicans made sense.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Baylor, have you actually ASKED Ed Clere his reason(s) for voting against that amendment? I think not, judging by your constant whining that you seem to think he'll talk with anyone but you.

Going on the assumption that you have not, you have absolutely no grounds for stating that "Clere is saying that he's against the amendment for procedural reasons."

You have no way to know that. I am a good friend of the family, and know that you're wrong. I'm Republican, and I agree with and understand his decision.

He always helps me in my public position, and he has always looked at everything he does from all sides before he does it. His advice is always the very best and I'm glad that I always follow it.

It's amazing, Mr. Baylor, that you cannot stand that Ed Clere does do things right. You can't stand it. But, if you were as progressive as Ed Clere is, then you wouldn't act like that. This is why so many of us in recent years have found you to be a huge phony. And nothing but. Through your rants about Ed, you've shown who you really are.

Hard to believe it, really, because a long time ago, I thought you were interested in moving our fair community forward.

So, go ahead all of you , Mr. Baylor and friends, come on here as predictably as usual and start trashing Ed.

Merle Harl. Where have I heard that name before? Oh yes, I remember wasn't he one of the police officers who was over paid (during the Garner administration Audit) $23,000 and did not give it back to the taxpayers of New Albany?

Another so called Christian (he) claims.

And, wasn't he the one who lives way out of the county, who logs 300 miles a week on my tax dollars for his police car?

And, wasn't he suppose to have retired in 2008 but is paid over $90,000 a year to drive around and give parking tickets?

From my records Mr. or should I say former Chief Harl does not live in New Albany and that's a fact!

But it's awful funny Harl along with Todd Bailey is trying to imply they are not looking out for their jobs and do not have their own agendas.

And people wonder why our city is in the mess we are in.

Harl can pretend he's such a supporter of Phipps and Timberlake could that be because that's what England wants them to be?

Why would anyone vote for Timberlake when she has NOT attended not even one council meeting and her and Phipps claim to be supporting the police?

Folks, if the FORMER CHIEF of police does not return $23,000 in over payment of salary isn't that stealing from the taxpayers?

I say he's one lying greedy SOB in my book.

Why would I support someone who steals from me or has not been looking out for my wallet and best interest?

Is this what this election is all about? Candidates with their lying campaign promises?

A vote for Timberlake is a vote for England

Anonymous said...

That's probably right. A vote for Timberlake is probably a vote for England. He usually has people around him who'll do his bidding.

The Democratic Party around here is in a shambles, unfortunately.

As for me, I am a Republican, and proud of it. Also, I am in support of civil rights.

You don't know much about history. If you did, you'd know that there have been Democrats AND Republicans that have fought for the cause of human rights during various times in our history.

You keep trying to define Ed Clere. Your definition isn't going to stick with me either, Rog.

My message to Mr. Harl: yard signs don't vote!

NO Vote for Phipps said...

How can anyone vote for Phipps when he supports giving tax abatements to residents who move downtown?

Phipps is a coward said...

Why won't Phipps debate Price? I'll tell you why. He's a coward and the truth be known he doesn't know the issues and cannot justify his progressive ideas.

Coward, coward, coward, coward, coward, coward, coward, coward, coward, that's what he is.

Bring it on Timberlake, she's a coward too said...

I personally would love to see Denhart debate Timberlake.

Since Timberlake thinks Coffey is her only opponent.

ROFLMAO

$50 says Denhart would eat her up, Any takers?

Anonymous said...

I put my support and vote behind people, behind people who demostrate to me a willingness to stand on the side of the people, and there is nothing that can come from lies and false campaign promises.
Love of truth ia a good thing.
Got any Timberlake?

Hey, Timberlake let's see you debate Denhart said...

I'll take a piece of Ulysses S. Grant.I fully support Denhart's campaign all the way!

Anonymous said...

That's a good one 12:20.

Anonymous said...

I've noticed that Timberlake seems to think that Coffey is her only opponent. Why? I think it's because by pretending that Denhart isn't there, they think they can diminish her popularity in the eyes of the public.

But the public is beginning to vote with eyes wide open. No longer the lemmings from years past, we vote for the people who fight for everyone. I've seen Vicki Denhart put herself in all kinds of inconvenient circumstances in her efforts to help with a variety of problems we have around her.

So, who do you think is strong enough and willing enough and savvy enough to tackle hard problems and tough issues? VICKI DENHART!

Anonymous said...

My money's on Denhart. Some advice for T. Timberlake; " Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas."

Count me in said...

No wonder they call her the new Mildred Wilson. That woman knows her stuff.

Let's demand Timberlake debate Denhart.

Anonymous said...

Timberlake will never debate Denhart. What was it she said? Oh yell, I almost beat Dan last time. Hey, Mrs. T., Denhart's going to kick your ass.

Anonymous said...

Looks like to me the Republicans are backing Vicki too. Dan's still debating weither he will stay in the race. Get out an save face, Dan. You're like Doug neither could handle being beaten by a woman.
Right, Dougie?

Anonymous said...

I heard Timberlake cut a deal with England and Stumler. Any truth to that?

Anonymous said...

So did Phipps.

Anonymous said...

12:11, you are absolutely correct. A vote for Timberlake is a vote for Doug. But, a vote for Denhart, is a vote for the people of District 1.

Anonymous said...

I heard Dave Matthews telling someone about some kind of deal. Evidently, Matthews is mad as h*** at Stumler. The Republicans say that Stumler double-crossed them. Stumler promised to keep Malasz in office. That's some deal.

Anonymous said...

Anyone attend the Griffin Street debate? Stumler said he came from a family of democrats. Refused to answer if he was a republican or a democrat.

Ethridge stated it was just a rumor he would build a new sewer plant. What a friggin liar. I attended a meeting and that's exactly what he said.

A vote for Stumler is a vote for England.

Anonymous said...

To play Devil's Advocate, who's to say Etheridge hasn't changed his mind? I don't know. My worries are the candidates for most of the offices not being educated as to the finances for the City. Gahan did pick up the phone and call DLGF. Has any other Mayoral candidate (to find out the real status of City's money) talked with the State? Can they really talk as if they are educated as to the citizens of New Albany's wants and needs (overall, not a few)?

Which ones really want to know what's going on and educating theirselves rather than hobnobbing and other such nonsense. Signs don't vote. Face to face.

Anonymous said...

I know Stumler's family and he's a Republican. Well, not any more if Dave Matthews is mad at him.

Anonymous said...

Yes. I hear the Republicans are extremely upset and will be pulling a Democratic ballot. Makes sense to me.

Anonymous said...

Stumler gave $5,000 to the Republican Party. Please don't try to sell me he's a democrat because he is NOT!

More of England's scam to keep, Carl, Shane, Kay, Mickey and several others.

A vote for the following candidates:

Stumler
Baylor
Smith
Coffey
Timberlake
Baird
Bell
Walker
Goldberg
is a vote for Doug England

Anonymous said...

9:30 you forgot Phipps, (Mr. Sweet Cheeks), Gonder, Ceasar too.

Gahan for Mayor

Anonymous said...

Looks like Ms. Timberlake isn't so squeaky clean. Seems like she's been in some trouble. Maybe you folks need to Google Teresa L. Timberlake.

Roflmao

Anonymous said...

Maybe we ought to be Googling all the candidates. However, Mr. Stumler will be found to be squeaky clean-other than his gifts to the Republicans and his staunch support of certain Republicans in the area and nationally. Interesting.

The "Mr. Sweet Cheeks" comment is not wanted. Very rude.

Anonymous said...

Might want to try spelling her name correctly--it's Theresa, dumbo.

Irv's a republican, just ask him why he sent the following donations:

$1,000 - Mitch McConnell
$300 - Ann Northrup

Anonymous said...

He's not to clean, if he's running as a democrat and is really a republican.

A vote for Stumler is a vote for England.

Remember when they couldn't find WMD's. Then these signs....Oh yes. Stumler is a republican. Look at the "PDN salutes these patriots" section.

http://www.patriotwatch.com/billboards.htm

Anonymous said...

So what's your point 4:08?

Anonymous said...

I think the point is that Irv Stumler has financed the far-right "patriot" causes. Didn't you see his name on that list? Word is, he was also a Palin fan. sounds like a Republican to me.

Disgusting.

Anonymous said...

Thanks 8:30, your right my mistake. I went back an ran over that list.

Good job exposing Stumler.

Anonymous said...

Seems like Carl did not get his way last night. He got 'shitfaced drunk at Habana' with England last night.

Sounds like the chickens are coming home to roost on the England administration.

Let's send England packing on May 3,2011. The free ride is over.

Anonymous said...

Can you believe Eastridge ask Coffey and Price to resign? Boy is that the kettle calling the pot black. Hell we all know someone Coffey has riped off in the last 12years. I can name 5 people myself.

Anonymous said...

I heard he cut a deal to buy England's property? That's exactly what Coffey told him last night.

How come NO one ask Doug, Carl and Shane to step down?

They are all crooks.

Anonymous said...

Hey Rog, I clicked on your photos and nothing shows up. Guess you forgot to put your difital card in your camera.

A vote for Rog is a vote for England.

"Tear down that wall Mr. Baylor."

I appeal to every newalbanian not to vote for [Baylor]this clown.

Anonymous said...

Myslef, I would like to know when Stumler was put on the Economic Developement Commission and why?

Anonymous said...

A vote for Stumler is a vote for England, Gibson and Carl.

27 said...

Yeah, I can figure out what England would get out of backing Stumler, but I don't quite understand what's in it for Stumler. Here's a guy that was a known Republican who put money on that allegiance. He meets with England, and all of a sudden, it's a better idea to run as a Democrat. We know that he told Matthews about his deal with England. But doesn't Stumler have his own money to back himself? I really and truly can't figure out why someone who is a Republican and has paid money to support Republicans would suddenly ally himself not only with the Democratic Party but also with the most crooked element in the local Democratic Party and do so publicly.

Can anyone explain this? Is there some sort of dirt on this Stumler guy and England said he'd let it out if he didn't comply? It seems hard to believe. I don't get it.

The New Albanian said...

An irrational fear of clowns is called coulrophobia.

BTW, I appeal to every New Albanian to vote for [Baylor].

Hah! Now we're even.

The New Albanian said...

A vote for Price is a vote for Denhart is a vote for dysfunction.

Having said that, I still can't see any reason to vote for Stumler.

Anonymous said...

And now, England will come for you too.

Anonymous said...

I support both Price and Denhart.

Anonymous said...

I saw Carl downtown last night but he wasn't drunk. didn't see England

Anonymous said...

Dysfunction is knowing you (Rog) are running for office. And, god help us all.

Anonymous said...

Oh, don't pick on Rog. He's too busy being smug for the last 24 hours because he thinks he's Mr. Man. What I heard about him yesterday makes me sick. I'm pretty sure there are enough voters who are aware of it.

Anonymous said...

I don't have to vote for "Rog" and I don't care about him. But I do wonder about these mayoral candidates. Judging from the spectacle the other night, not a one of them is any good. Seriously, I can't say I'd vote for any of them. I've heard the Republicans have no candidate. So, that leaves us with these three. Dont' know how to choose.

Anonymous said...

Seems pretty simple to me. Vote out all incumbents where we can, and get new faces in- period. What kind of backwards morons would vote for the people that are currently in office? Have you looked around you these past years? Price, Coffey, the whole lot- what have they done for you? Nothing.

Just Wondering said...

Denhart's got my vote said...

You under estimate Denhart, Baylor. Timberlake, what a joke. The votes she got last time was a NO vote for Dan. Now, they got a real citizen advocate to fight for District 1.

I got a Benjamin Franklin to put where my mouth is. What do you have? Nothing but venom. Bring it on.

Denhart would have my vote if I lived in her district. I'm thinking I'll vote the incumbent out of my district, but she'd be a helluva lot better than Randy Smith. I WILL be there on election day, and I WILL be sure he does not get my vote. It goes without saying that I won't be voting for Rog or Doug.

This town is ridiculous. Wish I had the words to describe what I'm thinking, but I don't. We have every kind of dimwit known to man, and not enough people who really try and do the right thing. I've got something for you: I don't like ANY of the candidates. Not a one of them. Some are worse than others. Some are borderline OK, but don't make me want to rush out and vote for them. Others absolutely disgust me.

The one with the phallic symbol signs would be the first one I wouldn't vote for. Can't remember his name, but his devil-like phallic symbol tells me all I need to know about him.

Don't want to talk about the other "worst" candidates. You all do enough of that on here.

But our choices leave me feeling sort of helpless, truth to tell.

Just caught up the last several days' reading. Well, things are not much different since the last time I was on here. Phallic symbols, Stumler=England, sign stealing, Democrats behaving badly, young people feeling disconnected with local politics, Baylor thanking people for supposedly reading his blog (I might as well say here that I never read his @#$%^)- it looks like our fair city remains a corrupt cesspool of malevolent mayhem.

Nothing new. I condescend to yawn again.

Anonymous said...

I am not an expert on Freud but I believe that if you see a phallic symbol then you are the one with the problem.

Anonymous said...

I don't think he's the one with the problem, 10:06. I see it too. It looks like a devil's tail.

Anonymous said...

What a sad city we live in.

Anonymous said...

It's sad. We need change. I see that phallic thing too. Looked it up. I really see that. But, I also know the candidate. Not suprised. Also, I'm not suprised by anything this group of candidates do. They need to start thinking about OTHER people and less about their own selves.

As soon as we get more people in office like that, then we won't be a sad city. We've only got a handful of people in offices who care one hoot about the rest of us.

Naturlally, their the ones that get a hard time from people in blogs.

Anonymous said...

Hello! I keep checking Kitchen Table for a new post, but there's not been one on here. I really couldn't care less about signs, what they look like or whose get stolen. We need to look at the hard issues in New Albany. One of these is the apparent free-for-all in administration. This money comes out of EDIT funds, the General Operating Fund, TIF, you name it. It goes onto things that, 1, we don't need, and 2, are apparently too costly (but we get them anyway.

I've only lived here 5 years, but it's been painfully obvious. And people just kind of overlook the whole scam whenever the England administration fixes drainage problems that don't exist, or creates things like bike lanes that lead to nowhere.

Is anyone besides me bothered by this??????? !!!

Anonymous said...

Isn't it funny that certain people come out to run an never attend a council meeting or have fought for their neighbors? Some candidates can scream change all they want and I must agree with Moeller half of the candidates should not even be running.
What's in it for them? Or what kind of deal did they cut with England.

I agree a vote for Stumler is a vote for England.
