WHAT ARE THEY SAYING?

WHAT ARE THE ISSUES WITH EACH CANDIDATE?  OUR FAMILY, FOR ONE, WOULD LIKE TO KNOW.

WE HAVE ONLY HEARD RUMBLINGS FROM CERTAIN CANDIDATES AND NOTHING FROM OTHER CANDIDATES.  WHEN WILL THE HULLABALOO START?  WE'RE READY TO LISTEN AND THEN MAKE OUR MINDS UP AS TO WHETHER WE WILL VOTE FOR YOU OR NOT.

WE HAVE HEARD RUMORS STUMLER IS USING ENGLAND'S TAG LINES AS FAR AS BUILDING THE NEW PARKING GARAGE AND CONDOS WITH BOBO.  HE SEEMS TO BE CONCENTRATING ON BUSINESSES, NOT THE PEOPLE.  IS THAT TRUE?

WE STILL AREN'T SURE AS TO ETHERIDGE'S PLANS.  WE HAVE ONLY HEARD RUMORS.  IS IT TRUE HE WANTS TO BUILD A NEW SEWER PLANT?  WE HOPE NOT.  THIS IDEA WAS FLOATED A FEW YEARS BACK IN ORDER TO KEEP FROM REPAIRING THE INNER CITY SEWER LINES.   AND, IF FINANCIAL ADVISERS ARE TO BE BELIEVED, CITIES, COUNTIES AND STATES ARE GOING TO TAKE A BATH REGARDING MUNICIPAL BONDS (WHICH WILL IN TURN BITE EACH OF US IN THE BUTT).

IS IT TRUE ETHERIDGE PLANS TO HIRE DAVID WHITE AS HIS CONTROLLER?  WE HOPE NOT.  HE DIDN'T WORK OUT WELL UNDER OVERTON AND SOME OF US HAVE SERIOUS QUESTIONS AS TO HIS, WELL, LET'S JUST SAY HIS MINDSET.

WE ARE ANXIOUSLY AWAITING JEFF GAHAN'S PLATFORM.  IF THERE IS ANY OF THE THREE WHO UNDERSTAND THE CONDITION OF OUR CITY, IT SHOULD BE GAHAN.

HOW DO VOTERS FEEL ABOUT CANDIDATES WHO DO NOT OWN THEIR OWN HOMES, NOR ANY BUSINESSES, AND THEIR ABILITY TO ASSESS IMPACT OF THEIR VOTES ON VARIOUS ISSUES?  WHAT WOULD THEIR PLATFORMS BE?

OUR FAMILY IS NOT READY TO ENDORSE ANY CANDIDATE AT THIS POINT IN TIME.  TOO MANY VARIABLES.  TOO MANY QUESTIONS STILL TO BE ANSWERED.

WE ARE WAITING.

i for 1 think Gahan will have a better grasp of what is going on around the entire us concerning pensions and union issues. if anyone has those issues, it would be na. but that's what i think. i am anxious to hear what he says.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Gahan told me he was going to remove the following people and replace them:

Shane G., Carl M., Mickey T., John R., Matt D., and Kay Garry. He would NOT have a Deputy Mayor, and contracts will have to be renegotiated.

Anonymous said...

Is this for mayor talk only, or council too?

Anonymous said...

I hope he does remove them. Why we have a "deputy mayor" now is beyond comprehension. Malysz does all this spokesman stuff for England, so then, what's England doing? Wheeling and dealing? On our dime?

I, too, have heard this rumor about Gahan. But how do we know it's true? Can't England influence him?

Kay Garry has GOT to go. That woman hides all kinds of stuff. I remember when the Republicans sent this lady down from Indianapolis to find the truth about Shane. Garry wouldn't let her see it. Wisman was in on this too. Hid the information by sending it to Garry. I was watching the whole thing and didn't dare say a word to the woman (from Indy). But I sure wondered why they were hiding anything. If Gibson's salary was on the up and up, there'd be no reason to hide. That woman kept coming back. I don't think she got anything.

So, would Gahan really get rid of this network of liars? Or would someone get to him and make him change his mind?

Council 2.

Candidates may be surprised how many of our voters do not have computers and are unable to read material posted on computers.

That being said, I understand Denhart's goals are to 1) repeal healthcare for the less than part-time council members 2)repeal annexation 3) every contract goes under examination.

I don't know this woman but I liked the platform when told about it.

Anonymous said...

With Lent having arrived, how many candidates will be showing at K of C? A lot of information flows at the fish frys. Not to make a joke of it but I am sure one candidate will be a no show.

Anonymous said...

I like it too. We need to be watching our tax dollars. As far as I can tell, we're paying for all sorts of stuff that is nothing but wasting our money. As for examination of every contract, well, we should already be doing that. If Ms. Denhart has these things on her platform, then I wish she were running for MAYOR!

Anonymous said...

Yes. One candidate will be a no-show. It's too bad. He's alienated so many.

Anonymous said...

WTH????

This message goes out to Carl. We can't afford any more bonds and we should not be helping finance people to buy property and we shouldn't be in the real estate business.

Some of Huncilman's property was up for sale in Sheriff's sales.

WE are only able to pay interest on Bonds now, so WTH?

According to the Wall Street Journal, which if local elected officials don't read the Tribune I wouldn't expect them to read the Wall Street, the muncipal bond markets are the next casualty for Americans.

Where is your reality? Do you make that much money you don't see the writing on the wall or do you not care or are you simply taking orders?

Anonymous said...

i think the police and fire should be backing up and thinking about other things than politics. the issue with unions is spreading like wildfire. indiana, ohio, wisconsin and now iowa. concessions not more money.

One rumor has it Etheridge will call the State Board of Accounts in for an Audit and if there's hanky panky refer it to the Feds.

Anonymous said...

I hope he does it.

Anonymous said...

Process has to be followed. First referral (if something wrong) local Prosecutor. If nothing done, State Police. If nothing done, State Attorney General. UNLESS, RICCO statutes violated.

Anonymous said...

uhhhh Don't they do an audit every year?

uhhhh Don't you people say we need another audit every year?

uhhhh Doesn't the DLGF say every year that another audit would be redundant and the city cannot pay for it?

Thank you Matt, for your recording of Stumler and Gahan. We appreciate hearing from them, with your help. I could not help but notice how many times Stumler said "uh". If he said it once, he said it one hundred times.

GO GAHAN.

Anonymous said...

Stumler wants the $12 million Parking Garage and Condos

Ethridge wants an additional Sewer Plant

Gahan wants less government, cut boards, fix infrastructure, eliminate deputy mayor, full time council attorney, and city attorney.

Bid out contracts an etc.

Who sounds more on the ball or realistic?

Why did Paul Ethridge walk out before speaking at last nights Democrats meeting?

Anonymous said...

Probably the usual stuff. They didn't invite women to the Democrat MEN'S meeting. Didn't look like much went on. I heard all about it. Sounded boring.

Anonymous said...

All candidates were invited. I know Shirley was there. I'm not sure if they made everyone pay $65.00 for the privilege or not.

Anonymous said...

Coffey wasn't there and Price wasn't either. Maybe the meeting was closed to fools.

How do you reach that conclusion? By supporting someone who shows up in a t-shirt and blue jeans with the shirt saying Fascist?

Fools, right.

"Where's my Bailout"

Anonymous said...

I was there. He said Democrats should be Democrats, not Republicans. Is there a problem with that?

Anonymous said...

I don't know. I think Democrats would be better off being Republicans. If people cared about how much money is being spent, they would be more like Republicans. All some Democrats do is say, "Gimme, gimme, gimme."

Well, "gimme" only works so long because somebody's paying for it. "Gimme" comes from the hard-working middle class, which, by the way, has disappeared.

I've been voting Republican more and more because Democrats around here make me wanna puke. Especially the self-proclaimed "progressives." They're progressive about nothing.

Anonymous said...

Vote Republican this year? so far your only choices are the candidates that the party chose.

So far they haven't decided who you can vote for mayor.

If that sounds like a party you want to belong to, have at it.

Anonymous said...

The Republicans are winny babies and the Democrats are winny babies. I pick neither.

Anonymous said...

These guys go around with jeans and uncombed hair all the time. What's new about that? Only the mayor candidates wore suits the other night. doens't make me want to vote for either of them.

Anonymous said...

The Fascist t-shirt is not ANYONE'S council person. Go Gahan.

shirley baird said...

@ 5:23 I think they meet monthly. The last meeting was at the 40/8 but that does not mean that all of them are there. The dues are $75.00 if you pay early.

Adam Dickey is the new president, you could call him or any member and they should be able to help you.

Anonymous said...

$75.00? That's kind of steep to join a group of old men! Hope you got that much 5:25.

You just have to get over his profanity but i think he got it right. RIP George.

Seems like to me Baylor has a problem with 'public speaking.' Dressing like a bum, refuses to buy signs, doesn't have a platform and all he talks about is beer and his business.

How can anyone take this guy serious as a candidate?

What he doesn't get is you have to pick issues that make a difference but in his case he's always looking out for what is best for him, his business and no one else.

Vote Steve Price

Baylor has been polluting for years with all his garbage he puts on the internet and in the newspaper, along with the foul public display of himself riding his bike through town in his obscene retard leotards. Glad to hear he's not going to pollute our city with his nasty pic on political signs.

Anonymous said...

Hi, Larry, shouldnt you be campaigning against democrats or something?

no need to campaign agaisnt democrats. democrats are doing more good for the republican party than they are for their own party affiliation. the local democratic party is in shambles and reflective of the state of this city.

We know what the issues are we want solutions. Anyone want to add to this?

Anonymous said...

Again, Paul Ethridge doesn't stick around to speak @ Steinert's Bar & Grill. What's with this guy?

My neighbors told me he made different promis4es to each of them.

Sounds like he's more like England instead of for the common man.

I had the privilege Sat. afternoon to meet Mr. Etheridge his family and staff during his walk around our neighborhood in the Castlewood area. I have never meet such a caring and generous person. He took the time out that day to introduce his family and staff to my family and I really had the chance to talk with him. He is a common working class citizen who understands the true meaning of hard work and dedication to our whole community not just the city. He has talked to a lot of people around this area and has helped with the flooding. Areas like old ford rd, dear wood and around the west end of New Albany. He has done a lot of work for these people. This information not only came from Mr. Etheridge himself but other people in my OWN neighborhood as well as it was written in articles in our community newspaper. This is the kind of person we need that cares about or property and our values!! He understands tax payers needs because he himself is a tax payer.
I asked Mr. Etheridge about the budget and general funds and what he planned to do about these issues. He said its gonna be tuff and take some time but it can and will be done! He can fix the budget by cutting the aministration office starting with dep. mayor down. Once the new taxes start in that TIF area the TIF should go back into the general fund not in a slush fund. I truly believe he knows how to balance a budget with his years of experience with the DOT.
I know Mr. Gahan. He promised he would fix something for us when he came around door to door the 2nd time he ran. He said he would be back and its now been 4years! Is this the kind of Mayor you want that does not return your calls!!?? His district is fed up and so am I. Mr. Gahan is a nice person but as being a council member in our district he CAN NOT make a decision on our council!! So how can he run our city if he can not even run our council?? He has not helped us has he???
Mr. Stumler is a "well liked individual" we know, but you can not run the city as a business! It needs to be ran as a Government!
So for the few of you who say they are having trouble deciding which way to lean or who to vote for this election, choose Mr. Etheridge. He is willing to make the effort to change our whole community for the best interest of the people! And for the ones who say they do not know enough about each cannidits to make a decision, well believe me Mr. Etheridge is out and about during the week and weekend and I know for a fact he would be more then happy to talk to you and your family about any questions you may have. I know that I want change in my community what about you? Do you want the same o' people making the same o' decisions or no decisions at all (Gahan)!!??
I am ready for Mr. Etheridge to make the change!

Anonymous said...

thanks Paul

Anonymous said...

Thanks for your comments but I have an issue with what the paper relayed. We have too many tax abatements. thousans. Does Etheridge really plan on giving out more, even to regular citizens who may wish to move downtown. TIFS and Tax Abatements are 1/2 the reasons for the lack of general fund.

Anonymous said...

You know, this mayoral race is a choice without a choice. So far, so bad. I've seen Paul Etheridge act the part of lackey to the Democrat party. Does he really expect us to think he'll get rid of England's boys?

As for Gahan, I can't see as he's done so much on the Council. Again, why should we expect he's going to do any better in the mayor's office?

Stumler is the worst because I know all about his wheeling and dealing with England and how he's going to keep Malash in the deputy seat.

As you see, a choice with no choice.

Anonymous said...

Anon 1;18 Paul is not going to increase TIF areas. He supports less TIF areas. Once the TIF is matured he will roll it out and pay our general fund. Do you know TIF areas are not eligible for FDA(Disater Aid). Do you understand we won't have a budget gap if TIF was used to counterbalance or expenses?

Anonymous said...

AND TAX ABATEMENTS. NO MORE TAX ABATEMENTS. BRING THAT MONEY INTO THE GENERAL FUND. PLEASE.

Anonymous said...

Pauls a great talker. In fact he can talk and talk. That's it all talk and no action. Sorry Charlie, he's not getting my vote.
My money is on Gahan.

They all come out of from under their rock when election time rolls around.

Right now is not the time to bs the citizens.

Just my opinion.

Anonymous said...

The May 3rd primary is where this will be decided, which means that all registered Democrats need to get out and vote at that time. You can't wait for the general election this time, folks! And if you're registered as anything other than a Democrat, you need to seriously consider at least a temporary change of registration.
This primary has the ability to change the course of our city's future.

Haha...maybe it will be different.but as far as the candidates hiding under the rocks until election time, hahaha isnt that the honest truth!!! But really how can we truly sit her and act like we know what one can do or can not do in office! wish I had powers to see the future. Mr. Ehteridge has helped and spoke. These people could not even vote for him and if you read the paper you will see that he showed thorough his actions and not just words and helped these people with the flooding like Jane Denninberg case on Ty Ave. Please anyone tell me what Gahan has done for us in office that makes you truly believe he will do well as mayor? ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THEN WORDS.
I called and talked to Mr. Etheridge personally and the reason he did not speak is because his father in law had open heart surgery and had to stay with him at the hospital. And he said if they let him speak like they were scheduled to then at 7pm he would have spoke. And Stiners he had a fundraiser to attend that Sunday from noon to 6 at a household to meet the candidate for mayor.

Anonymous said...

You're right, 4:28. I think the devil himself is a Democrat.

Anonymous said...

The devil himself. Hmmm....I don't know. If Baylor became a Republican, I still couldn't vote for him.

Gahan understands not only TIFS are killing this city but tax abatements, too. I need Etheridge to back up from that statement of wanting to give people tax abatements in order to help out downtown. This is not to be construed as a mean and harsh statement. Etheridge go to the Auditors' office and ask for tax abatements "broken by township". Unfrigging believable.

Anonymous said...

If Gahan understand this, then I hope he'll write about it in the Tribune, or he'll get on here or somewhere and explain what he knows. I know the TIFS are bad. But try explaining that to the people who support the current administration.

As for the devil, well, uh, I think we ALL know who that is.

Mae, how can you support Paul when one of his statements he made, he supports the police and stated they need a good pension.

Excuse me but the unions are part of the problem. They get eighty five cents of every dollar and they claim they are under funded.

Good grief we can't afford Pauls ideas.

And what about him saying if he's elected he will build another sewer plant? We got bonds we cannot pay in fact on some we are only paying the interest on.

I read his comments on his web page. About hiring more police officers too.

Good grief May, that mean more cars, computer, healthcare, pensions. That is not solving the problem at all.

Paul and Stumler needs to stop making these promises they cannot keep and we cannot afford.

How dumb do you really think us voters are?

Who is Cory Earl?? This is Mae!! and I am from castle wood. I do not know who Cory Earl is. Mr. Etheridge does not believe in the "buddy buddy system" and is going to break up the "buddy buddy system"! A vote for Stumler will be a vote for Doug Englands Staff! A vote for Gahan would be a vote for Warren Nash, Dan Coffey, Raymond Cousins, and Viki Denheart. This would be the same o buddy buddy system that you have with Doug! This is what I have heard in the neighborhood! Etheridge is for the tax payers because he is one himself. He can fix the budget by cutting the administration from dept. mayor down this is what he has said since day one! Mr. Etheridge is NOT building a new sewage plant. He just wants to see if it was running the right way (sufficiently) the people who are making these accusations need to come forward and speak to him one on one not hiding behind a blog. he will be happy to speak to you and i know because i have spoke to him personally. Read yesterdays news paper about South Autoben. He will be glad to talk to these people if you have any problems. Stop the accusations towards him and his family! These things are nonsense and hurting peoples families. Just remember Gahan is our districts councilor and he has not done anything for our district? So why would you want to voter for Gahan!?? He will do the same thing as mayor as he would for council.

Anonymous said...

You may be for Etheridge 100% but I will take exception with the facts you stated linking Gahan with Coffey, Cousins and Denhart.

Coffey is TRYING to ride Gahan's coat tails, but Jeff is having none of it. Cousins is England and Denhart stands alone (though I do think she may support Gahan, but can't say for sure).

Personally, I am glad to hear Etheridge does not want a new sewer plant.

What accusations has been made towards his family? I have seen none on here. Thank you very much.

Anonymous said...

Has Etheridge changed his mind about tax abatements? Thanks.

Anonymous said...

How can you tell when Paul Etheridge is lying?

His lips are moving!

I was a flood victim too said...

You are wrong Mae, Gahan put a Ordinance together and got the flood victims $450,000 for damage the city refused to pay. Their policy (City of New Albany) covered under $25,000 the city pays over $25,000 the insurance company paid.

Shane Gibson turned down every claim submitted.

Paul might have dug a few areas out (ditches) and helped a few homeowners in your area.

But Vicki Denhart aand several CFA MEMBERS knocked on doors, all over castlewood, and other flooded areas and down by the creeks and off of Mt. Tabor and Klearner lane and got everyone that could to scan and send their photos and complaints to Barbara VanTil at EPA.

Bet you didn't know that did you?

So stop making Paul look like the savior of Castlewood.

You don't see Denhart tooting her horn do you?

Anonymous said...

I was curious when I heard that Paul Etheridge was using trucks and manpower to help people with problems with flooding who paid for that. Was that a DOT crew and trucks he used?

As for Denhart trying to get the EPA to take over our sewer system, she never understood what would happen.

Should the EPA decide to "manage" our sewers then they could do any type of maintenance that they wanted. They could spend any amount of money that they felt necessary and stick us with the bill. They would be from Washington DC, so they would not care how much our sewer bills were.

Vicki thinks she is doing us a favor, she is only making it worse.

if the city won't help the residents someone has to. if you had crap in your house and all of your belongings were ruined i guess you would be crying too.

it is a shame about Nash, but I happen to think he did a good job.

Mae said...

Mr. Etheridge is not against tax abatement but they need a limit on them! People in the city are hurting because their property is being flooded. Tax Abatements are good but to many are out and need to be stopped! As far as Gahan and his flood ordiance he got together! look at his past voting record, He was against this idea and because of this the state highway had to fix it! Council approved it but the city turned it down! If Gahan would have done the job right the 1st time this wouldnt have happened! Etheridge by no means is NOT tooting his own horn by any means! He is just trying to fix the problems around this city that are going wrong! There is alot of things that he helped these people on st right aways! As far as him helping with the flooding question. It was a personal matter that Paul himself helped with nothing to do with DOT trucks at all. It was out of his own pocket! and even if it he did use the DOT trucks it would of been tax $ well used! This is just one of the issues that should have been taken care of!
As far as the sewer plant goes! Mr. Etheridge does not believe the EPA should be in charge! He thinks the sewer plant should be investigated! He is going to find out what these issues are and solve them.If he has to he will get qualified people in there to run it and if not negotiate with the people their now and get these fees down! That is how he plans on fixing this problem but it has to start with an investigation! And again he does not want a new sewer plant!!!??
As far as Nash, he got canned for this stuff going on in our community. and he is more then likely going to be Gahans dept. mayor! So now do you want him to be doing the same thing that he got fired for but under someone else who is running for Mayor (GAHAN)!! He cares about his comm. I can not say this enough! If the people in office now would have stepped up and did their job when they were supposed to then we wouldn't have to even have to discuss these issues our comm. is facing today!!
P>S> he is here to help and get this comm. safe if he wins or not! he is NOT againt stumler or gahan! He needs ands this comm. safe and sound! and in good hands! he walked today in the west end! the co enforcement so we can get things right! ethics laws! all these things need to be enforced! and someone needs to enforce them and not just have people say they are going to do something and dont! we just need to be smart and asking questions and talking to these people running is a good way to start because i know that i care about the comm. and i know that you people do to or we would not be on here in the 1st place! but what is diff from you and i, i buy into what etheridge is salen and i truly believe he will do what he has to for all of our comm. i truly truly believe that! but if he does not get elected! he will still be out in the comm. lending a hand!!!

Gahan not having a deputy mayor? Really? How can we possibly trust that? We need to get ALL the Democrats out of office. All of 'em. Can't trust any of them because England gets to all the Democrats sooner or later. I'm ready to vote for a republican. Any reps running?

Anonymous said...

Coffey use to be a card carrying Republican. Zurschmeide is technically. Stumler was going to run as a Republican and then switched to Democrat. Can anyone else add to this list?

Anonymous said...

So was Doug England, he also was a card carrying republican.

Too funny. That sounds more like Letty Walters 6:07am.

Just my opinion said...

The republicans should jump on board and help us democrats take the eveil croonies out instead of sitting on their asses waiting to see who wins.

Calling on all republicans it's your city too.

Anonymous said...

Democrats and Republicans should unite to take England and his over paid employees out. Who in the republican party will stand united with us?

Please respond!

Anonymous said...

6:07 am i feel sorry for you and the hatred you have in your soul.

i agree with 12:31 pm. since there just aren't many Republicans running, why don't they have a meet the candidate gettogether? there's a thought.

Anonymous said...

6:07 Appears Matt had perfect timing with his "Job Hunting for Dummies" column this week. People like 1:10 would rather ignore the truth and call it hatred. Most see the truth and appreciate the twist of humor you attached to this sad reality.

Anonymous said...

Nah, I disagree. You seem to be in a minority. Forget about Matt; I'm talking about a man who has given more service to this community than about anyone else I know. We will have to beg to disagree.

Anonymous said...

Or beg to differ.

Anonymous said...

I'm not convinced Mr. Nash has "given more service to this community than about anyone else..." Obviously, he's helped the DEMOCRATS. But what about ALL the people.

Anonymous said...

He's not helped me, instead I have helped him for 45 years by paying my taxes so he could draw a govt salary and draw a govt pension. The taxpayers are the ones that have provided way more to him $$$$ and he's the one who continues to beg for more and then cry republican foul when he is finally cut off. Why not retire quitely and appreciate and enjoy the fortunes provided to you by the taxpayers?

Anonymous said...

Amen, 6:01.

Anonymous said...

6:01 You are talking about Doug England aren't you?

Matt Nash said...

45 years is how long he has been working for the people of New Albany, Most of those years he did it for free. Only a fraction of that time did he ever draw a paycheck from your taxes.

But wait, you people always claim that you have to remain anonymous because you or loved ones work in City-County building and fear to lose you jobs. Aren't those tax payer funded jobs?

Why must you remain anonymous to kick someone who just lost his job?

I will pass on your concern, anyway.

Matt

Anonymous said...

Matt, they are defending their Republican and Democrat friends who did this to your dad. Their diatribe makes no sense. We know most of his work was done for free. Someone has to protect Heavrin, Seabrook and England on this issue. Won't be me. Thank you again Warren.

The New Albanian said...

That's the crux of it, Matt. The anonymous cowards are always on the hunt, always able to heap abuse on others, and of course never, ever responsible for their own behavior. That's because they hide. That's why they have never had a role to play, and never will, instead being poster children for this city's dysfunction.

Poster children wearing hoods and masks. Really pathetic, when you stop and think about it.

Anonymous said...

Why'd you take my comment off here?

Anonymous said...

Maybe you think it was too mean.

Here goes again.

I am 27. That doesn't mean my ideas do not have value. I tried to step up and volunteer. No one would let me.

That's because the same old people (and I do mean "old") keep control of everything. I will not mention names because that might offend someone.

As for the calling people names because they remain anonymous, those who do this are unwilling to read WHAT they're saying because they're fixated on WHO is saying it. Who it is doesn't really matter because it's the idea that's important.

I have restated the gist of what I said before, but left out all names, lest I offend anyone.

Once again, why would you have removed my comment saying all this?

Anonymous said...

Allow me to continue:

It's pretty darned discouraging to try to step up to the plate, only to be turned away because people think you're TOO SMART. It's amazing to me when I realize that people get hand picked because they're lacking in intelligence (and scruples) enough to blindly follow the established leaders, who, by the way, have absolute control over what goes on around here (and when they don't, they try to wrest control from those who temporarily have it).

I grew up in this city, and it's simply never changed. We won't have a progressive, wholesome city until the old guard gives it up. They need to stop being greedy and allow young talent to come in.

Still don't know why you'd delete my comment.

Anonymous said...

In addition to that, we need to stop giving audience to those who want to slam other people just for having other ideas. Certain people get on here and say bad things about certain other people all the time. They need less attention from us.

Anonymous said...

And finally, my original comment was far better than any of these other ones I've written since. Why didn't you just leave it on here? The fact that the old guard uses certain people who publish all over everywhere might as well be known.

Ah, but once again, this 27 y.o. is shunted aside.

All I ever wanted to do was help. Guess I'm not wanted on here either.

BYE.

Anonymous said...

I have no clue as to what comment was deleted off of here. Maybe you thought you pressed enter and didn't.

Baylor, go out on the newspaper or others places where some have been defending Warren. I sure don't understand it but we will take care of it here.

To the 27 yr old. I don't know if you are a man or a woman. If you are a women the Democrat Women would love to have you as a member.

If you are a man the same goes for the Men's Democrat Club. We are trying to combine the two, maybe someday.

Regardless of your gender the Young Democrats and YCABA would welcome you as well.

Sorry you had problems in the past.

For the person insinuating Nash will be Gahan's deputy Mayor - BS. Gahan isn't have a deputy mayor nor etheridge. You sound like Carl calling Gahan scum after the last council meeeting. You all related?

Anonymous said...

Shirley has time to post everywhere but on her own blog. One writes comments and questions on her blog but she refuses to post them or respond to them. Perhaps she is just showing us how she will be as a council person.

Anonymous said...

I hear Shirley has shut down her blog until after the election.

DO NOT WORRY--ETHERIDGE AND STUMLER WILL RUN ON THEIR RECORD AND ALL OF THE TOUGH DECISIONS THEY HAVE HAD TO MAKE FOR THE CITY OF NEW ALBANY

Anonymous said...

and what record is that?

Don't LIKE THE SIGNS!!! said...

I am a resident of the west end and Gahan and Stumler are putting signs up in these yards without asking!!! As a tax payer I do not appreciate our Chief of Police riding a candidate around in an unmarked police car campaigning!!! If he is going to do it for one (Mr. Stumler) he should do it for all!

Anonymous said...

I heard their were signs in yards of abandoned homes. Wow this is really true!

Anonymous said...

Timberlake is the one putting the signs up in empty yards. Don't BS and BS'er. And the police shouldn't be riding anyone around, to drink at lunch or to put up campaign signs.

Anonymous said...

Remember the Police are under funded?

Get it on tape and take it to the local TV station.

Anonymous said...

Timberlake was introduced to me by Pat Leist-Stumler. So that tells me and everything I need to know.

Denhart for District 1.

Anonymous said...

IF GAHAN SUPPORTERS ARE PUTTING SIGNS IN WITHOUT PERMISSION---CONTACT HIM AND I GUARANTEE YOU HE WILL REMOVE THEM----HE HAS THE ADDRESS OF EVERY SIGN

Anonymous said...

11:12 AM---EXACTLY MY POINT

i figure etheridge will get about 350 votes----and every vote he gets takes away from gahan and I think the way it looks now it is close enough that etheridge could put stumler in office

As a veteran sign-putter-upper myself, I've gone around and looked at signs on my rounds about town. There are some people who have signs on abandoned property and in right of ways. Stumlers signs, for example, are 4 x 4, and many of these are in the right of way. Some block the view of oncoming traffic. Some are OK. Paul Etheridge has his signs pretty much all properly placed. Jeff Gahan's signs are all properly placed. Not a single one of his signs are in right of ways as far as I can see.

Greg Phipps, Steve Price, Vicky Glotzbach, and Vicki Denhart ALL have their signs carefully placed. It is obvious that each has permission to place signs in yards and I haven't seen any signs for any one of these individuals out of proper place.

Theresa Timberlake's signs are nearly ALL in the right of ways, and several of her signs are on abandoned property. Someone needs to go over the rules of putting up signs with her.

Dan Coffey's signs are what I would call "glomming on" signs. He keeps putting them right next to Jeff Gahan's signs. Are they friends? Does he get permission? I don't know. I remember the Reps had a "glommer on" in that Fendley woman. Her signs would always appear on any property that had a rep candidate on them. I don't follow repubs, so the fact that I noticed this should tell you that glomming on is bad.

Anonymous said...

Yes, and Gahan is not happy Coffey is telling the residents Gahan asked Coffey or should I say gave Coffey permission to put his signs there. But, hey, Coffey is lieing about a lot of things right now and I'm sure he is going to get worse.

People should have went to the council meeting to see our GREAT council in progress. They voted 350,000 dollars to fix Helen Ct. drainage problems! hahahhahha...the 350,00 dollars is going to the developer to develop the property not to the drainage issue! like i said hahahahaha way to go Gahan! The money is going to be flipped to the "developer"! You all thought you got over on the people! This is the type of Mayor you want in office!??? Sounds like another England! You all KNEW what you all were doing! You should have done 3 readings but you ONLY HAD ONE!!! If you want to check it out, go and ask for the min. at the meeting!

Who is campaigning for Paul Etheridge? Is his campaign manager the gal who is engaged to and lives with a two time convicted felon who is currently on probation? Is this the couple he has out and about promoting his platforms? Be careful with whom you align yourself, Paul. You're a good man, albeit a bit misinformed.
