Fire Department Grant

The City of New Albany received a grant last year for 1.3 Million.  We have since found out we can not let any firefighter be layed off or gotten rid of for 2 more years or we pay the monies back.  This may have been how we were able to hire two more firefighters.

It is not good news Gahan wants the LOIT tax and a WHEEL tax.  I say do away with Tax Abatements and receive the monies we should be receiving.  (A big thanks to Greg Phipps!)

twinkle toes Phipps is bought and paid for by the Firefighters union. As far as lameduck Gahan, if he pushes the LOIT and wheel tax he might as well resign now

That comment certainly doesn't help get anything accomplished.

There will be a new letter froma reader posted soon. Thanks.

You homophobes must be completely terrified by what started in CA and will most certainly head eastward. Twinkletoes indeed.

1:32 pm must be the same scary old guy always talking about rog's package. What a creep.

fork you David Thrasher and all your crowd

Well I guess Gahan will keep Robinson after his altercation with the council attorney. Stan you are done in politics you think you can be a judge or a prosecutor your wrong.
You cannot even be a city attorney!!! Gahan will keep him so that he doesn't have to deal with the county on parks or anything look out Ted he will sick Stan on you. He has his bully puppet and they get along because Jeff Gahan is just like that it gives him a charge

Anonymous said...

Gahan fired 4 or 5 EMC employees then in 24 hours had to turn around within 24 hs and had to hire them back.
What in gods creation are you doing?

Anonymous said...

Jeff hired his future son in law!!!!!

Gonders wife on the housing authority what a conflict also no one is talking about John wilcoxs wife also is on the board Linda. Same oh good oh boy system going on.
How come Malyse still is meeting with England at night time? You better start staying behind closed doors when you meet!

Anonymous said...

the whole rotten gahan/malysz/england/robison/wilcox/norwood mafia needs to go. And lameduck what makes you think you could fire EMC employees they are under EMC's authority, who you have in mind to take over wastewater when you kick EMC out youre brother? I got news for you the EPA is gonna watch every mistake you make, your whole gang is through.

Anonymous said...

hey lameduck, you better tell your daughter not to marry your new flood control man, indiana law prevents you from being directly over family, ever heard of nepotism? ask your city attorney if he isnt too busy training for his next shoving match

Anonymous said...

I hope Lorch files suit against Stan.

Anonymous said...

gahan's goons, who will be the next official to shove somebody

Anonymous said...

that hot head scott woods will probably be next

Anonymous said...

Gahan did not fire the emc employees. Emc did. It was gahan who told them they had to hire them back even though some members of the sewer board were against it. Get your story right

Anonymous said...

The grant is actually called a SAFER grant you can google it and get all the correct information on it you want. It doesn't say anywhere you can not fire someone but if you do you just have to replace them in a reasonable amount of time. It is free money for the city to maintain staffing.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for letting us know!

Anonymous said...

Nothing is free 6:42. This is not how Julliot explained it to me. It's time for an audit, here comes more fees on us too.

Anonymous said...

get ready for higher stormwater fees to pay for that bond. The financial consultants are wrong there is not enough stormwater revenue to pay the bond off and future revenue is never a certainty.

The bond is a Fifer pushed scam for extra attorney fees and the master plan is flawed that they are basing projects on.

Anonymous said...

They're all flawed. Starting with Gahan. The buck stops with him. He's got a bully for a city attorney. He was going along and keeping England and gang covered by health insurance until he got caught. He is responsible for God knows what else. The buck stops with him.

Anonymous said...

I think you're leaving someone out on this. What did Benedetti know about all this insurance crap and when did she know it? She seemed awfully willing to smile and listen when all those people were up talking about it. Something smells here.

Anonymous said...

Phipps isn't a twinkletoes. He's a liberal sociologist bully.

Anonymous said...

I know I'm off topic and I'm on the issue of 1.3 million $ we may have to pay back. What concerns me is what did Diane Benedetti know, when did she know it, and does she even know about it at all? Anyone have any idea? Diane, you check the blog, what do you say? I say you SHOULD know. What do you say?

Anonymous said...

gahan is on board for the stormwater bond because he cut a deal to get castlewood done first and he says he is fiscal accountability yeh right. You are right he has thugs and bullys working for him and Benedetti is a deal maker too, she wants that free insurance and the bulk of stormwater projects.

Lameduck gahan, a legend in his own mind

Anonymous said...

I pray for Roger.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, Gahan is a legend in his own mind and so is Benedetti. They're all going to drive us crazy because they hide the truth.

Anonymous said...

they wont drive us crazy they will drive us to get the state on their ass, they will be the ones driven crazy for the lies they tell, in gahans case he will quack up, lameduck.

wonder how that gahan boxing team is working out stan the shover is his rocky

Anonymous said...

Benedetti did away with the invocation because she is being excommunicated, her priest cant forgive her anymore for all her lies. She now goes to the house of Baylor for her spirituality, I mean spirits, dont forget that Ohio license plate works every time

Anonymous said...

Has anyone heard that they stopped saying The Lord's Prayer before the city council meetings? I couldn't make it to the last meeting, so I am not sure if this is true.

Anonymous said...

i swear on a stack of bibles lol, as part of the baylor band of atheists and pagans who enjoy their beer and lack of responsibility they are dedicating a new brew to their new convert, the benedetti brew which of course replaces the mayor's brew since doug england is no longer at the throne.

Anonymous said...

I'm a Christian, and I support the moment of reflection over the invocation by a pastor (fine individual as far as I know) of a church I don't agree with.

As you all know, we can't all agree on what being a Christian actually is- and with that much difference within the religion, I certainly don't feel represented by whomever happens to stand up and pray. Think about this- there are ministers that would stand up and do the invocation that are most definitely anti-Catholic- you want their version of prayer?

In addition, like it or not, we do have freedom from religion. There are many, many atheists among us, and if our mission is to bring them to Christ, forcing an invocation down their throats is going to only drive them further away. However, showing respect for them and their lack of beliefs may actually lower some defenses.

Use your moment of reflection to pray. Let them use their moment to reflect. Live and let live. Benedetti's going to find more support for this than you could ever imagine, from people you wouldn't imagine.

Anonymous said...

Yes,
they stopped saying the LORD'S PRAYER at city council meetings

About three years ago

Anonymous said...

nice try baylor, that long winded i am a christian crap defense of benedetti, what are you two at the brew house now thinking of things to say on here to defend her i bet gahan is there too so you can write something for him explaining his cover ups and his shoving buddy robison

Anonymous said...

So, the city attorney can push the Council's attorney and scream profanity in his face with numerous witnesses around and the Tribune for TWO DAYS ignores this AND he gets to keep his job? What the he'll is happening? Beg your pardon, mr. Blair.

Anonymous said...

next gahan will probably send his street commissioner in to ruff up a few of his majesty's critics

Anonymous said...

Freedom of Speech has it right this time. Council President Benedetti, BRING BACK THE LORD'S PRAYER!

-Amen

Anonymous said...

why would she do that she gets her marching orders from the priest at the baylor house of brews

Anonymous said...

you all leave diane alone she is one of the most devout catholics I know, she attends mass every sunday even after a long night of drinking and regualrly confesses her political sins.

signed: her priest

Anonymous said...

Have any of you heard of the separation of church and state, religion is fine. But it doesn't need to be involved in politics. The first amendment covers all of this why should we have the lords prayer and not praise allah. If you don't do any of it then their should be no problem. But if you do the lords prayer then you should also have to do a pray for every other religion, and we all know that the council meetings last to long anyways. If you are more concerned about if they pray before each meeting, than what actually is accomplished during the meetings then this city is in real trouble.

Anonymous said...

hey lameduck hows that future son in law doing in flood control

Anonymous said...

yeah when they had the lords prayer a few years ago it was the protestant version. Gee, I wonder what Mr. Goldberg thought about that when he was on the council.

Anonymous said...

fork you thrasher and your art buddy

I will pray for you said...

Vicki Denhart and her two buddies believe that "citizens for accountability" is a political force that delivered the election to Gahan and then he turned on them.

Nothing could be further from the Truth.

Everyone laughs at Vicki.

Oh sure she could call the News Channel and rattle off some innuendo and maybe stir up some trouble, but how much of it really sticks

She is a legend in her own mind and the people that follow her and her blog are sheep.

Anonymous said...

Someone signed Diane's priest do you actually know him???

Anonymous said...

I, too, believe in the separation of Church and State. My prayers are so strong during the Council meeting (silent) praying they do the right thing, along with the Administration I feel I don't need to hear any out loud.

Anonymous said...

I, too, believe in the separation of Church and State. However, I think it's a nice boost to have a prayer before a meeting. Saying the Lord's Prayer before a meeting does not threaten separation of Church and State. It simply shows a willingness to stop for a moment and ask a "higher power" for guidance. It's just kind of nice. Now, do I think a moment of silence is inappropriate and do I insist on the Lord's Prayer? No. I think a moment of silence is a good compromise.

@5:12 You're wrong about Vicki. She works hard and I applaud her efforts at finding truth. What she did the other night sounds to me like it's a good thing someone's out there trying to shed light on shenanigans done by certain leaders. Would you all rather have no idea what's going on? People grouse about them, but we need the Vickis and the Rogers of the world, whether they annoy you or not. Good thing they're bold enough to do it.

Anonymous said...

I applaud Denhart for having the guts and the facts in hand. Anyone notice how fast Diane wanted Gibsons contract? I personally feel Mr. Gibson should have to pay it all back. What else are they hiding?

Anonymous said...

quack quack its lameduck gahan, he's the mayor who hides whatever he can

Anonymous said...

You quack me up Dickrich

Anonymous said...

Yeah, let's try to come up with a new one Tiny Tim Thumb. Your lame duck mantra is getting rather old.

Anonymous said...

Baylor, that prayer stuff is really up your crawl, ain't it?

Yawn.

I got a great idea. All you people who are bitching .Why don't you get off your butt and your computer and run for public office. Obviously you think you can do a better job. Remember you voted for all those scumbags Who are crooked . You want change? How bout stop voting the same cronies back in office every election and want change...... It's like bitching about Rodgers pub but you keep goIng back to buy his beer!!!!

7:53 You said it, these people keep electing the same people and looking for something to change. Then they don't get it and now they are mad.Go look into the mirror, blame yourself for backing them.

It's funny when Gahan was president over city council .
I heard people say at every meeting that he was guiltless
And didn't have a backbone and he didn't no what he was doing ......... Oh but wait he will make a great mayor....
Really???
Hey New Albany .... YOU voted for him !!!!!

Anonymous said...

fork you thrasher and your art buddies on both sides of the river

Let me get this straight -Stan Robison, the city attorney and legal representative of our city physically attacks the city council attorney in public after a public meeting adjourns, in view of witnesses and the chief of police, and the mayor has nothing to say about it and no consequences for it. That is absurd. Where is the Tribune? Where is the prosecutor? Where is the outrage?

Anonymous said...

I GOT ONE FOR YOU ALL. THEY FIRED A LADY NAMED: PATTY ANDERSON WAS FIRED FROM THE CONTROLLERS OFFICE. THEY SEEM TO THINK SHE WAS THE ONE WHO LEAKED THE INFO ON ENGLAND.

SORRY CHARLIE, YOU GOT RID OF THE WRONG PERSON.

The Tribune won't do doodle, but I bet she has some dirt on them all. How dumb are these people. Sorry, I was having a senior moment.
answer: pretty damn dumb.
Hey Patty, you need to ring denhart.

I say get Bart Betteau he loves those $1 million dollar lawsuits.

Finally, there needs to be an exact accounting of financial reserves at our disposal. How much do we have? How is it being used (or not)? from Roger Baylor's candidate Q/A so tell me rog, you support an independent audit or do you retract that now that you are sucking up to gahan?

Anonymous said...

I witnessed Robinson attack. He said F/U grabbed Matt then called him a MF. To think Blair, thought Mrs. Denhart offeneded him. Go figure that one out.

Anonymous said...

sounds like a possible class action lawsuit in the works: Matt Denison, Patty Andeson, Ron Grainger, personal injuries wrongful termination, dont forget the council attorney as a possible litigant being shoved and all

Anonymous said...

Did you all hear Gahan was in his office during the whole thing. Maybe we need to put this all on You Tube we couldn't make all this crap up.

Anonymous said...

To Mr. Blair,

If you think Mrs. Denhart is pisted off you're about to see a lot of pist off people sooner than later.

Get a life man. You work for me.

Who cares about a little shoving and cursing? Big deal. Man up, you wussies.

Anonymous said...

shoving is an assault and gahan if he were any kind of a mayor would fire robison

Anonymous said...

daddy in law I cant handle all these angry people about the flooding, oh dont worry I will just send stan the shover to push them around. Thanks daddy in law you sure a great mayor

Anonymous said...

does anybody have a video of robison shoving and cursing lorch?

Anonymous said...

Glad to see that Roger has came to his senses. Your right Roger, Vicki is a miracle worker. Glad to see you finally put it in print.

Anonymous said...

i was there, and saw the end of it after heard yelling - no video tho. robison was way out of line. props to lorch for not being walked over. the hallway was filled with people from meeting who saw it. dan coffey stepped in and physically stopped stan before he did more - props to him too. stan is a ticking time bomb, what if it had been you or me?

Anonymous said...

I was there too, and agree with 11:44 There must have been 25 people in the hallway, the Chief of Police was right there with her Deputy. Also agree that Dan Coffey did the right thing (and I don't hardly EVER say that about Dan!) I am not a fan of her, but I thought Benedetti acted like a leader and took charge of the situation and probably stopped Robison from doing more - he was approaching Lorch again a few minutes later when she stopped it and had the police escort Lorch away.

Anonymous said...

somebody needs to call the tv stations and sign some affidavits

Anonymous said...

Be a leader Gahan fire Robison

Anonymous said...

Adults acting this way is disgusting. There's nothing wussy about expecting civility. If it's a free-for-all every time there's a city meeting, should we all act that way?

Anonymous said...

why doesnt the tribune report robison shoving lorch did the reporter witness it too?

Anonymous said...

The correct reason given for letting Patti go was that her position was being eliminated. It also states in the employee manual that if a person looses their position then the city will attempt to find another postition for them. Seems there is a position available in the sewer office but the offer was not made to her. And she was not the person that leaked anything why should she, she has enough time in that she would be eligible for the free insurance also. I would not be surprised if it was someone on the other side of the hall.

Anonymous said...

i like stan's no-holes-barred approach. he doesn't take any crap. its about time somebody acted like a man around here. you sissy cry babies need to get a life. the indy star is not interested in piddly nonsense like this. i'm glad to see that the tribune isnt either.

Anonymous said...

Hi, my name's anonymous. I'm a dirty, angry, uneducated little person that can't spell, and think the world revolves around me. I think everyone cares what I think and I'm going to post it several times a day. I think the mayor should do whatever I say, and when he does not, I am going to run to this blog and cry my eyes out.

The thing is, I could actually research the issues. I could talk to people and form my own opinions. I could learn how to spell, and use correct grammar, and appear to be intelligent and well thought out. I could also refrain from gossiping. I could show that even being a little person (and quite frankly, I'm not even sure why I call myself a little person. I guess when I say it, I think I'm saying 'average citizen', but I'm not sure.) can be a fantastic thing, by offering solutions instead of making up horrible things about other people, even going so low as to insult their physical appearances.

But I don't think so. I think I'm going to come here and threaten people, because it makes little people feel big. I think I'm going to talk horridly about people that during the day, I work with, talk with, or go to church with. I'm going to take that chip on my shoulder and pile more stuff on it, so it grows. I'm going to keep being petty, mean, and focus only on my little self, and if any of you actually know how to spell and use grammar, I'm going to all you Roger.

The mayor will never please me, and it doesn't matter who it is. Neither will the city council, or any staff or support of the government. I don't want my town to grow at all, and any effort to make good things happen, I will oppose, because I did not think of it. I'm mean, I'm sad, and I'll probably stay that way.

Anonymous said...

12:52 We will see if you still feel that way after the city gets sued or our city attorney is facing criminal charges for this kind of behavior against someone. I bet the Indy Star and CJ and Tribune would cover it then!

Anonymous said...

there are witnesses to robison shoving lorch

Anonymous said...

12:52, you ma'am or sir are an IDIOT. 'No-holes-barred'? Uh, first of all it is 'Holds', not 'holes'. Geez. Secondly, he represents our city and his thuggery ( buy a dictionary and look it up) is an embarrassment to us all. Of course, you're pretty embarrassing too.

Anonymous said...

1:14, the city's going to get sued because of a piddly little shoving or grabbing incident? haha, that's a good one. stan would get that tossed out of court before the ink gets dry.

Anonymous said...

I couldn't agree more, 1:14! It would be so nice if 1) we didn't fight amongst ourselves because nothing will get done and 2) we stop the nitpicking namecalling. Doesn't serve anyone and makes this blog really tough to read because of the lack of civility.

I don't see how any of that helps the situations at hand.

Anonymous said...

Who said the city would be sued? Robison committed assault you idiot. Go away and stay away; you add nothing to the discussion.

Anonymous said...

1:22, you are right about the name calling, but it is so difficult to ignore idiotacy.

Anonymous said...

whats even more pathetic is that gahan allows robison to continue as city attorney, of course irish ctaholics love a good fight but where was spineless gahan when this went down?

Anonymous said...

12:44 your full of it. You can do better than that story. They're on a witch hunt to find out who leaked the info. Don't worry there's more to come.

Anonymous said...

Well 1:21 just like he (Stan) turned the other way on the Cannon issue when he should have been made to pay it all back and serve some time.

Anonymous said...

uhh pretty sure if robison did something like this again but to a citizen instead of a local government worker, and stan has done it before... then the city knows he is dangerous and doesn't do anything about it to stop it from happening again... i'm no lawyer but that sounds like a lawyer's wet dream to me.

Anonymous said...

if you will look back on this thread, 1:22, you will see several commenters saying that the city is going to get sued because of the shoving incident, which is a ridiculous idea. are you unable to read? and your darned right that the city attorney represents me. that's why i'm glad that he doesn't take any crap.

Anonymous said...

so robison did shove lorch and called him an m-fer and said f-u and dan coffey had to keep robison from doing more and there are witnesses and gahan does nothing wtf are you thinking gahan you think its ok for one of your employees to assault someone?

Anonymous said...

you've got a deep throat in your third floor gahan and you will never know who it is, you cant fire the entire third floor mayor.

or is deepthroat on the third floor, might be somewhere else and you dont even know, maybe its somebody who works for the county and can get city info, have fun looking gahan

Anonymous said...

1:36, ok I'll grant you some said the city would be sued. However, what 'crap' did Lorch give to Robison? Oh, it would be wonderful if all disagreements started and ended with FU, and you're a MF and a shove against the wall. Silly me.

Anonymous said...

if i had to guess, i'd say that he probably gave stan some sass. stan don't tolerate no sass!

Anonymous said...

Stan is s very sick individual. Gahan is responsible for this altercation his administration does not know when to talk and walk let alone know how to act. The whole organization is in shambles. You have known you have been elected since November. I see your qualifications is not managing people. Robinson you are a BULLY and GAHAN you are cut from the same cloth. I do know if you do not want to do your job the council is already ready to take over and they have taken over.

Anonymous said...

4:19, amen. 2:52, 'sass'? Really? (btw, your grammar is atrocious ).

Anonymous said...

Stan Robison leaked it. Remember you heard it first here. Watch and wait, when it's all said and done.

Anonymous said...

Stan Robison will be shown as the mole in the office and when it all comes out, that will be the reason Gahan puts him to sleep. Watch and wait. If you read this Stan, I know you'll be sweating. Tick, tick.tick

Anonymous said...

you all under estimate stan. stan fears no one. stan never forgets and stan never sleeps. you can take that to the bank.

Timmy said...

I notice we go hours on this blog with out hearing from little Timmy down in Florida. The library down there must kick him off the computers when he starts surfin the porn.

Anonymous said...

2:22 and 2:52 - Have you talked to Lorch before? I have. He does not strike me as a hot headed or sass-y type. From what I heard from my councilman it seems he handled things well. Call yours and see if you agree. On the other hand, Robison has a long record of yelling and cussing so I would not be surprised if it started and ended with Stan

Anonymous said...

If Jeff's brother Tim would of been there he would be instigating this that's why Jeff stayed in his office because he is just like that.

Anonymous said...

how about his brother tom who sounds like a duck

Stanley Robison is beyond corrupt in his private practice as well as his dealings with the city. The truth needs to come out about him before more poeple are hurt!
