Our 20 lb Butterball is in the over. I would like to take this time to thank 'Kitchen Table along with Freedom Of Speech' for educating and for informing us citizens. Without these two blogs we all would still be asking even more question and not getting any answers.

Happy Thanksgiving

Excuse my typo, I meant to say 'oven.'

Happy turkey day.

Roger, First!

Thanksgiving would be much more heartily enjoyed if it came before election day.

Happy Thanksgiving
Legal Beagle

Anonymous said...

Definitely. Same to you Legal Beagle!!!

Anonymous said...

This guestion is directed to Legal Beagle: where do you plan to shop come black Friday.

Downtown or where?

Anonymous said...

I plan to shop at independent small businesses downtown.

Legal Bagel

Anonymous said...

I plan to shop where I get the biggest bang for my buck and that's NOT downtown.

Anonymous said...

I'm not shopping anywhere. Black Friday and Christmas are capitalist holidays celebrating the almighty dollar!

Anonymous said...

WOW! I had no idea that independent businesses only existed downtown in New Albany. That must be a rule I'd never read about.

OH WAIT- there isn't. There are independent businesses ALL OVER NEW ALBANY! Who knew?

You may harbor some strange, festering internal boil against the downtown businesses- lucky for you, there are many, many others spread out throughout the city.

Anonymous said...

I got 60% off at Kohl's this morning. Can anyone downtown veat that deal? No, I didn't think so.

Anonymous said...

typo: beat that deal?

Anonymous said...

12:49, the Chinese thank you for your generosity.

Anonymous said...

I went to check out those local merchants downtown. I wanted to support them and buy some presents down there. I gave it a shot but left empty handed. They dont have crap down there! Or should I say all they have is crap? I guess if your life evolves around liquor then maybe downtown might be a good place for one to go.

Anonymous said...

I tried to shop downtown today. I had my cousin Bill to shop for and his wife and kids. I did get a gift certificate for Wick's pizza for the whole family, but there wasn't anything for anyone else down there. Went to that new store Colokial. They had neat stuff, but my cousin's wife doesn't wear things like what they had in there. I couldn't find anything for Bill either. I went into that Dandy Lion store for the kids but came out empty handed. There needs to be more stuff downtown before I can seriously do any shopping down there. After that, I went home, ate lunch and then went to Kohl's where I bought all kinds of gifts for my cousin's kids and wife. Still have him to buy for. For my own husband, I made him something very special. Can't get any more local than that, especially since I've finally made a piece of furniture worth bragging about!

Anonymous said...

I bought my husband a 50 inch flat screen at Wally World for $499.00 not bad considering they wanted a little less than a thousand at HH Gregg.

Anonymous said...

I buy my beer in Louisville, my gas on State Street, my computer stuff at Office Depot, my ice salt at Ace Hardware, my grocery's at Alda's and my meat at the meat market. I also buy my books from Barnes & Noble.

Just my opinion said...

I will not shop downtown after New Albany First tried to be subdized by local taxpayers. They're not one bit better than banks or Wall Street.

Anonymous said...

4:30, 5:29, 5:39 & 6:23 - the Chinese sincerely thank you for putting their kids through school when yours work locally at Ronnie Msc's

Yvonne, you should be right proud of this lovely blog. It is so nice and you are too!

PS: Ever get that rent paid?

Anonymous said...

Whatever, Roger, you moron.

Where'd you get your shoes? Walmart? Dick's? K-Mart? Goodwill? Betcha they were made in China, buddy.

Where'd you get your bicycle? Schwinn? Mail order? Wonder where it was made?

And while you're at it, Rog, do tell us from exactly which town in Germany you ordered your bright, shining pride and joy swill stills?

What? Roger doesn't always shop local? REALLY?

You're a moron, Roger, along with all those robot-brained supporters of yours.

Anonymous said...

Everybody knows Roger is a joke and that he and his groupies twist truth into outrageous lies. Everybody knows that he can't even remember a childhood friend in death without getting in a last dig or two. What most of us don't understand is why we're still talking about him. He's not central to any discussion begun on this blog. Let's move forward and talk about important topics.

Who's Yvonne?

Anonymous said...

I don't have a dog in this fight, but if you read what the NA1st group is saying, it's just asking people to shift spending. That's pretty much it. Baylor's not on the board, although his business is a member. Why is he such a threat to you?

Anonymous said...

He can have his swill in every bar and the new 'KEG STORE' but that doesn't mean you buy it. Buy local he preaches: why does he sell his swill out side of NA? answer: cause NO body drinks his swill over Budweiser.

Anonymous said...

Drunk? Angry? Or both? That is the question. Doug England was in rare form tonight at Light Up New Albany. I almost choked out loud when England said that some horrible person, drinking while driving, hit and killed Kevin Hammersmith. As if England actually thinks anyone drinking and driving is horrible. Yep. Sure.

Good thing we have only 5 weeks of that bumbling boozer left. Then, it's bye-bye, Dougie.

Anonymous said...

OK, I have one question:
Whether or not you like or support Roger Baylor, why is the beer he makes always refered to as swill? Don't get me wrong, I think all beer tastes like it should be put back in the horse (Mae West's original line, not mine) But, the products he makes appear to be highly respected in the beer afficiando community, and both of his businesses appear to be thriving.
Understand, he gets to me..I think some of his comments are mean spirited, and his atheism stance is chilling..(I guess he's an atheist, he posted once he reads Christopher Hitchens)...Who knows, not me for certain.
I agree, he is never going to receive the Miss Congeniality award, but to continue bash him as a businessman doesn't seem right.
Rodney King had a point.

Anonymous said...

8:39 One Chicago thug said it best: "Never let a serious crisis go to waste." What I mean is what England said tonight was a play on peoples emotions(like)Dougy has emotions. We lost a man who cared and loved this city like so many others. Dougy again got beat by another woman, so Dougy I say to you; clean that friggin office up and move your shit out. Call for an audit Jeff and expose this crooked bastard for everything he's done and spent.

Anonymous said...

Amen to that 2:38.

Anonymous said...

There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, that I can say good about Roger A. Baylor. He's a total jerk. Not to mention what his supposed beloved friend always said about him. He's clueless as usual about reality, and he's willing to stab anyone, anywhere, anytime, and then blame them for it.

As for Dougy, yeah, he's a nothing but a drunken idiot. That's all. How he made mayor, I'll never get, but he's done in this town. And good riddance. Too bad he's not friends with Roger anymore or he could take Roger with him.

Anonymous said...

Funny stuff. What Rog understands way better than the sad sacks oozing here is that those still living write the history books. That's exactly what he's doing, and the politicians who scheme their way out of office, like Doogie, can't do anything about it.

Anonymous said...

I would like to thank Mayor England and Matt Dennison for the wonderful evening in downtown NA on Saturday. The tree, the lights look wonderful. Thanks for your dedication to our city.

Anonymous said...

Nepotism in the city county building where will it take us!!!!

Anonymous said...

There hasn't been any nepotism in the City County building since the assessor fired her sister for playing computer games all day on taxpayer time.

All hail our community activist.

Anonymous said...

Whoever wrote that last comment ought to be ashamed of herself. The assessor in question was a grouchy bump on a log and the sister who was fired was let go only because she apparently started to notice the assessor's laziness.

Anonymous said...

Well, there's all that nepotism in the city county building. Even stupid Roger knows it's there. But I agree with everyone who writes bad things about Roger. He's a bragging idiot. I also think he's getting on here disguised as "Anonymous." He says good things about himself and says he's writing history.

ROFLMAO
ROFLMAO
ROFLMAO

Anonymous said...

I get it now, nepotism is bad, unless it is someone you worship.

Playing video games at work is ok, as long as you are compiling evidence against your lazy sister.

Drinking beer is bad, but it is ok to try to give one to the new mayor.

You morons are batshit crazy, both of you

Anonymous said...

Roger, I mean, 8:49, let's not go around twisting things. This is a habit you'd best stop doing, if you want to honor the memory of your friend. He couldn't understand why you did that stuff and refused to read your stupid blog. Just like I refuse to read your stupid blog. Until you grow up, many of us won't be going over to your stupid blog. Also, I like a good beer as much as the next guy. But your beer is too heavy and the atmosphere around your BSB is unfriendly to people who aren't in your group. I actually went and sat there during the Jingle Walk. Wish I hadn't.

Anonymous said...

So let me get this straight, 5:21- if someone sees the world differently than you, they're automatically Roger.

Anonymous said...

Or one of his buddies. I agree with 5:21. I don't drink his swill or go to his blog either. To tell the truth, if Roger turned over a new leaf and stopped ragging on everyone all the time, I'd probably check out his blog sometimes, and so would a lot of other people I know. Most of the time, when Roger's name comes up, people say pretty much the same thing and get that same look on their faces. He's a crank. Nothing more. If he wants to be otherwise, he needs to turn over a new leaf.

Anonymous said...

Amen.

Anonymous said...

Roger your the one who thinks two people write on this blog. Your the one whose all fired up about nepitism. Your the one who keeps talking about Vicky Denhart's beer she gave to Jeff Gahan and now you added being lazy and playing video games to her list of sins. Either its you or someone you have poisoned take your pick. Either way your the origen of crap like that.

Anonymous said...

we've gotten off topic, haven't we? i don't like talking about people. let's talk turkey. did everyone have a nice thanksgiving? we did! went shopping this friday and saturday. i'm nearly done with all my christmas shopping! yeah!

Anonymous said...

So, wait. If you agree with Roger on some things, and disagree with him on others, the mere fact that you agreed with him makes you a follower. Right? And, since Roger is the focus of this blog, apparently...perhaps it would be more aptly named 'Roger Table Rogers'?

Psst...he has more 'followers' than you'll ever know, if that's the case. Most of the world doesn't see things so black and white, so either/or.

Anonymous said...

Unless Roger is Jesus in disguise, I'm not following him. Don't know about the person you're writing to. I agree with 8:20. Let's talk turkey. We stayed home all weekend. None of that mad shopping rush for me. Thanksgiving was great because it was at my sister's house this year. Very relaxing.

Anonymous said...

Ididn't shop. Fixed food and watched movies on Hallmark Channel. Sat around. We ate left overs all weekend and skipped church. Don't like the rain.

Anonymous said...

My mom and I went shopping on Saturday. We went to Kohl's. Then Target. We skipped Walmart completely! The rest of the time we stayed home and played Canasta (mom's favorite), and a very SLOW game of Monopoly (my husband's favorite).

Anonymous said...

Let’s see if I have this right, 6:39. You’re so sensitive that you think I actually wrote something saying that I disagreed with Roger? Did you actually READ what I wrote? No. Why not? I assume you can read. However, you seem hell-bent on attacking anything anyone says on here by saying that they’re pointedly against Roger in some way. Did I say that?

No, I did not. Roger is unimportant to me. If he decided to actually write something nice or positive about New Albany, or if he would take the bold move of writing something specifically about someone for whom he’s documented his hatred (such as “Erika”), THEN I might start reading his blog.

But not until he started acting like a man.

How about the Coroner's son being filmed by WDRB for a piece about 150 and 111 while DRIVING THE CORONER's VAN??? Is he covered by the insurance we, the taxpayers pay for? Just wondering...

Anonymous said...

Had a happy Thanksgiving. Now, we're in the full Christmas mode. You should see the lights at our house, inside and out!

Get a life said...

FYI, Mrs. Denhart is on holiday in Europe. It doesn't matter what Roger or anyone else says I'll put her creditability up against his or theirs anyday.
Get a life, don't we have issues to discuss?

Anonymous said...

Yes. Those Roger groupies have nothing to discuss but people. They say that intelligent people discuss issues and that ignorant people discuss people. Roger's blog is full of people stories, and they're negative. So, Roger's a negative ignoramus.

NOW, what about New Albany? I saw a comment about Matt Dennison. Yes, he's done a great job with all the lights. I've seen him out very late putting up lights and they bring a very nice appearance to our downtown!

Thanks to all our volunteers who make New Albany bright!

Anonymous said...

I'd rather be on holiday in Europe than sitting here reading crap about Roger. He's boring. Hope Vicki has a good trip!

Anonymous said...

Certain department heads and other city employees will be receiving their letter from our new mayor asking them for their resignation in the next day or so. It's typed up and in the mail. The gravy train is over, and the free ride is over, it's time for you to accept you are no longer needed. You have had your last run at the piggy trough.

Have fun looking for a new job it's a jungle out there.

Happy Holidays from a New Albany taxpayer

Happy Birthday, Mayor-Elect Gahan.

Anonymous said...

Happy Birthday Jeffrey, you got big decisions to make!

Anonymous said...

Please. You all who support him here will turn on him in an instant, especially if he doesn't think exactly like you. You're like hyenas.

Anonymous said...

Happy Birthday to the mayor-elect! Don't do any preparing-for-mayor work today. Take the day off!

I don't know any of the people you are going to choose for your administration helpers, but what I'm seeing, I like. I like that you're taking your time, that you're promising no one anything, and that you're willing to make hard decisions, even in the face of the current administration's daily expressed scorn. Every single day, I hear either the mayor or one of his flunkies gripe about how "Jeff doesn't know what he's doing."

Looks to me you know exactly what you're doing. The right things.

Happy Birthday, Mr. Gahan!

Anonymous said...

5:27, why would we turn on Jeff? No one expects that he thinks exactly as each of us does. That's Roger's way of thinking. Not anyone on here that I know of. Only Roger says nasty things about people just because they don't think exactly like he does. Roger's the hyena.

Anonymous said...

6:44, I hope you're right...time will tell. I predict though, that Jeff make a choice someone doesn't like, or he'll support a policy a KT blog reader doesn't agree with, and there will be verbal carnage on the blog.

I suspect that my thought process is vastly different than many readers here; and yet, I'm a strong supporter of Jeff's. But, if he supported some of the same things I do (and he may), I think many would turn on him in a heartbeat. I hope not.

Anonymous said...

I am glad you're a supporter of Jeff's, 8:34. However, I disagree about verbal carnage. There doesn't need to be any verbal carnage on here. The only person anyone on here vilifies in any way is Roger. I guess they write negative things about his followers too. That's because Roger writes such disgustingly mean comments about other people. Many, I'd even say MOST, of these people are, frankly, doing a pretty good job. So, people who don't want to take a thrashing on Baylor's blog write their complaints on here. Roger invites them to do so by continuing to post negative comments about people we all (or, some of us, anyway) admire. I ignore what is written for the most part while recognizing a lot of truth.

Jeff, on the other hand, is probably going to show himself to be a real public servant. If someone's mostly doing their job right, and if you can see that it's in the spirit of really trying to help the community, then one disagreement isn't going to create carnage in the blogs.

Don't look for carnage where, for now, there's none.

Anonymous said...

I agree with you, 9:01, except that there needs to be some carnage about Roger. I'm sick of his crap. Yes, I check his blog. I admit it. It's because I want to know whether he's saying anything about anyone I know and to try to help. I don't have one of those accounts to get on so I can't get on his blog to post my response. Also I don't want Roger or his gang of do-nothings to attack me publicly either. They'd just turn on me and I'm a completely private person and not public. He would do carnage at me anyway. But I used to work downtown and I know a lot of the public workers.

Here is what I would like to say. Roger seems hellbent on saying negative things about something that our Develop New Albany people are trying to start. Here they are, trying to start a campaign to do some advertising, and all Roger can do is talk about how he can advertize his own business and about how discounts are for Walmart. I get sick of Roger's either-or mentality.

Anonymous said...

Fluffinstuff just likes to read himself write.

Anonymous said...

I guess there will always be someone who disagrees with something. I do feel people will give Gahan a chance before they vetch and moan - but, if he goes against his campaign promises, etc., I can see the plaints from here.

Therefore, I see no Deputy Mayor and I see an Audit being done. Yeeaa.

Anonymous said...

There will not be a dep mayor but I do not recall any publication where he promised an audit

Anonymous said...

Jeff doesn't have to put it in a publication that he promises an audit in order to have an audit.

If I were him, I'd absolutely do an audit. No question. That's why you see Mayor England getting so desperate. So are the top boys in his administration. They know there's been some funny business with the money. Any idiot knows things don't add up and Jeff's no dummy.

Anonymous said...

Yep. It's not public knowledge but it is going to happen. And, the best thing about it is there are funds to pay for the sucker.

I hear England and Malysz were out and about and England was complaining how he doesn't "like" Gahan anymore. Really? Tell me, is that why you had a Pub run against him? Hah! Don't go away mad, just go away.

Anonymous said...

England complains about Jeff all the time. It's weird. He didn't support Jeff, but he pretended he did. Sort of. I kept thinking our party is really in a shambles if our Mayor goes around slamming our candidate. As for why he ran a Republican against Jeff, I know why. If Stumler would have run as a Republican, he would have won. It was a pretty shrewd move on England's part. He may be a drunk, but England's not stupid.

Anonymous said...

I forgot to add, England's not stupid unless it concerns his own super-ego. He's convinced he's been owed Cochran's seat and he thinks he's running, I hear, against Ron Grooms for State Senator.

HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

That's a good one. England's done in this county. He can't win anything. Maybe he should move and try Clark County. ROFLMAO.

Anonymous said...

I sincerely hope Democrats get hold of their Party - literally. Go Dems!!! Down with the current party leadership!!!! There job is done, and they didn't succeed - yeeaaaaaa.

Anonymous said...

*Their* (sorry)

Anonymous said...

England did not support Jeff look at his report and see who the money people are. To say that is a joke you again don't have your facts. By the way people voted for Jeff because he was the best choice out of the line up of who was on the ticket. My next door neighbor still does not know who he is!
We are willing to give him a chance.

Mad as hell democrat said...

Democrats are fed up with the democrats and most republicans are fed up with the republican party. John Wilcox is not only a loser he's the lazy SOB in our party. On the other hand you have Dave Matthews. If you don't think like him forget it. It is a fact that democrats voted for republicans and republicans voted for democrats. The whole damn city is fed up with local politics. Say what you mean and mean what you say.
I say replace both party chairman's. This is our town and we're taking it back!

Braggin Rights said...

Stan in - Shane out. I think it's only proper to say: 'we told you so!'

Anonymous said...

Doesn't sound like Shane's out if he's to be in the controller's office. Surely Jeff's not making a mistake like that. If he does, it'll be more of the same shell game with the money.

Anonymous said...

GAHAN DID NOT put anyone in the controllers office yet---if there is a job there it was given by the current mayor--he has been doing that all over the building to try to keep his people in the building. I heard his transition team has only made the one decision and still has a million interviews to do.

Anonymous said...

6:46-- I heard the same thing about the jobs too.

Also, what is going on down at the police dept. Something about falsifying crime statistics or something. Someone has been reprimanded and others on top are running for cover.

Anonymous said...

Well, unfortunately for Jeff, it'll be a hard job booting out the nasties who were chummy with England. I'm not so sure, though, that exchanging one inept, crooked, lazy lawyer (Shane) for another inept, crooked, lazy lawyer (Stan) is much of a change. But, Shane's a really bad apple. Glad he's gone. Stan's only real problem is being bipolar.

Good luck, New Albany!

Anonymous said...

Maybe they will put Nash and Stan together they're both bipolar.

Anonymous said...

With Connie Sipes calling the shots what do you expect. What Gahan doesn't understand is the city can not appropriate no $ for schools. That's the states job. If he's smart (Jeff) he better think long and hard on some new department heads. I heard that Sam Lahanis knocked one of our favorite England families back down to (earth) at $15 hr. Can you believe England got Wilkerson's sonsh pay to $54,000 and a take home truck.
Lifes hard out here in the jungle.

They've all been living high on the hog.

Btw, don't worry Carl, Shane and England won't starve, they took enough of our money to last their life time.

Weasle said...

Gahan made several campaign promises to a lot of us and by God we are going to hold him (to it)he's accountable to us.

It is bad enough to make up a story that you are a professor of political science when you write an anonymous blog but inventing a child who developed AIDS through a blood transfusion takes the cake.

Lying about making a donation to an AIDS group is awful.

If you morons continue to believe everything she writes you are as bad as she is.

In the same breath I wont use his term of language f democrats I am switching parties to republican. Of course his buddy Dan Coffey was right in their with Stan bashing the democrats because Stan lost.
Well the two are back. I guess no one can remember Dan as president, Stan as council attorney everybody was ready to throw them both out. Come on guys it hasn't been that long ago.

Anonymous said...

If Erik is real please tell me which University at which he is a professor of.

If the story of Joshua was true please show me a link to just one story. I'm sure that something like this would get a lot of attention.

Please tell me to which group that a donation was made. I'm sure they have some record of a donation that large.

It is very hard to prove the negative, but if any of the above is true you should have no problem showing just a shred of evidence.

Anonymous said...

I believe it has already been explained who Erik is and of his connection with Freedom of Speech.

A story about a boy with AIDS wouldn't necessarily get a lot of media attention. Not everyone gets out there before the public with stuff like that.

You'll be able to find the donation to help fight AIDS. Shouldn't be hard for great investigative "reporters" like you and yours, Rog.
