BUT, WE INSIST!!

BEING PART OF A DEMOCRAT FAMILY HAS LED ME TO QUESTION WHAT THE HEY JOHN WILCOX, FLOYD COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY CHAIRPERSON, IS THINKING.

JOHN, MESSER LEFT THE DEMOCRAT PARTY AND TRIED TO RUN ON THE REPUBLICAN TICKET AND SETTLED FOR AN INDEPENDENT SLOT.  WHY ARE THE DEMOCRAT CENTRAL COMMITTEE STILL SUPPORTING HIM?  WE CAN ONLY ASSUME THE PURPOSE IS TO KEEP SHANE GIBSON AND CARL MALYSZ EMPLOYED.

WE DARE TO MAKE THIS POINT, OBSERVATION, OR WHATEVER YOU WISH TO CALL IT - WE DO NOT WANT OR WISH TO SEE MESSER AND HIS CREW AT THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS NOVEMBER 8TH FOR THE DEMOCRAT ELECTION RESULTS.  LET HIS GROUP ATTEND THE RESULTS WHEREVER INDEPENDENTS ELECTION HEADQUARTERS ARE.  WE DON'T WANT HIM AND WE CERTAINLY DON'T WISH TO SEE HIM ELECTION NIGHT.

JOHN WILCOX, REMEMBER THE TRIAL ENGLAND AND FAITH INITIATED WITHIN THE DEMOCRAT PARTY, WHERE THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE WERE TAKEN TO TASK BUT FOUND INNOCENT OF ALL CHARGES?  YOU, SIR, WILL NOT BE SO LUCKY.  WE DO HAVE WITNESSES WHO SAW YOU AT MESSER'S COMING OUT GET TOGETHER AND YOU PUT ON A MESSER BUTTON, BUT WOULD NOT DO SAME FOR GAHAN.  SHAME, SHAME, SHAME.

SEE YOU NOVEMBER 8TH AT K OF C.

Democrats at K of C, Republicans at The Winery, and Independents at the Calumet. No Jack at Knights.

Nice try. If anyone is the anti-England, it is Jack Messer. If you like England, vote Gahan. Oh, and there is no such thing as a Messer button. Jack Messer has no buttons. But nice try.

We don’t back Jack!

First, Jack Messer was elected as a Democrat, then he was going to become a Republican and now he’s running as an independent candidate for mayor.

My name is Vicki Denhart, president of Citizens for Accountability. You may have heard about our citizens’ watchdog group. I’ve been attending city council meetings since 2000. Our watchdog group is made up of Democrats, Republicans and independent citizens.

I am writing in response to the letter: “Reader says he’s backing Jack.”

I also am a lifelong Democrat and was a candidate in the 2011 primary. I am a Democrat and will always be a Democrat, unlike the author of the letter, Randy Smith.

Randy Smith spins things well for his friend, Messer. But he doesn’t have his facts right. Since most of you voters have not attended a council meeting, you may not know about Messer’s voting record.

We believe that you should be an informed voter with the facts. Jack voted for:

• An $11,000 salary increase for Doug England;

• Shane Gibson to be a full-time city attorney at a $150,000 salary;

• Health care for three part-time council members;

• Carl Malysz salary to be $83,000;

• Sponsored the bill to raise speeding tickets by $25;

• Increases sewer rates;

• Increased stormwater fees;

• Increased sanitation fees;

• Free sewer hookups for some developers;

• Overtime pay for New Albany Police Department officers;

• New police cars;

• Hiring of new police officers; and

• Purchasing new police equipment and computers for police cars.

At the September mayoral debate, Messer stated that if elected mayor he would support a new local option income tax and that he would raise our sewer rates to cover all of our current and future repairs. Well, Mr. Messer, you are talking about not only higher fees and taxes on all of us, but a financial burden on many residents of New Albany.

Mr. Smith, you call candidate Messer’s voting record a voice of reason? Unlike you, we believe city money is our money and not a private piggy bank for the New Albany Police Department and mayor. We weren’t the one who got caught on tape cutting grass while on a medical leave from the police department. That was Messer.

Your so called facts, Mr. Smith, about the 911 merger, is a lie and anyone who has sat in on those meetings knows it would have cost the residents of New Albany more.

Voters can verify the above voting record of candidate Jack Messer by visiting the city clerk’s office.

— Vicki Denhart, New Albany

How could anyone vote for Messer after reading the above letter.

I applaud and support our local citizens watchdog group.

Anonymous said...

Wilcox supporting Messer? No suprise there. We know that Messer plans to keep Gibson. Don't know about Malysz. Neither can stay. New Albany can't afford it.

Anonymous said...

If Jeff is not keeping these people why are they going door to door for him they are not walking for messer. Some rumors are not true on hear. That is what I seen in my area off daisy lane.

Anonymous said...

Unlike Messer, Jeff has promised NO one a job. What does Carl and Shane have to lose. Between them about $250,000 or more. Neither one caan make what they're been making.
Wilcox should step down. He like England has devided the democrat party.
Our local democrat party has going to hell in a hand basket.

Anonymous said...

Who wants a lying 'racist pig' running our city?

Anonymous said...

12:49 said “Unlike Messer, Jeff has promised NO one a job.”

Jeff’s silence indicates more that he will keep the same people and that is what you should expect from him. He has not told the voters any differently. If elected, don't be upset if he does decide to keep them. You won't be able to say he lied to you. You will only have yourself to blame for being naïve in thinking he would get rid of them. It looks like NA might be in for another 4 years of politics as usual with the same good ole boys.

Vote for DM Bagshaw!

Anonymous said...

Vickie it has been a long long time since you have been present at a meeting!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Who ever writes this why would you continue bashing the candidates that are running independent. Mr.Blair made a choice to run as an independent just like Mr.Messer why can they not exercise their right without being criticized.

Anonymous said...

Setting the record straight Here is what Jack Messer has said about jobs with the city and promises for the same. Read this and then tell Anonymous she's a liar.

Anonymous said...

Setting the record straight: I was At the VFW last night (Bev Crump) and several others were there. Jack was offering several jobs that I heard, he also told another candidate that Larry Scharlow would be his Deputy Mayor. So Randy your the friggin liar and you are claiming(assuming) you've WON and the ballots haven't even been filled out or counted.

So whose the liar now?

Do we need to contact the Attorney General since you are representing Liar Jack?

Anonymous said...

A patrolman after 28 years. Why don't they open his employment records and see what the problems is. Oh that's write he's now got Randy Smith doing all the writing for him to make him look all polished and all.
ROFLMAO

Anonymous said...

That's the oldest game in the book of politics. I don't back Jack either. And, my VOTE better damn well count too.

Btw, Mr. Smith, what job have you been promised?

Anonymous said...

england will slip through again. All this bickering over Jack distracts from england, just as he had planned.

Anonymous said...

England won't slip in, we've been working on that for month's. We got a big surprise for Doug. Just wait and see.

Anonymous said...

Gahan has not promised voters any jobs, but he has assured voters Malysz and Gibson and all the others are gone. So - don't compare Gahan to Messer. There is no comparison.

Anonymous said...

Gahan hasn't promised any one a job ???? Hmmmmmm than why are all of England's people out working for Gahan trying to get him elected. Voting for Gahan is same ol same ol!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Steve Bonnifer who wrote the letter in the paper is his brother enlaw

Anonymous said...

first they back england for mayor, then stumler, and now gahan. sounds like whoever they back ends up losing. if gahan should win, i hope gahan shows us he out smarted them all and put them all out of a job. my bet though is that gahan ends up keeping them all and its the citizens who end up getting out smarted again. just sayin.

Anonymous said...

promising jobs before an election --
isn't that illegal?
Oh that's right - it doesn't matter what you do in New Albany!!!
Politics as usual and we don't mean just saying you belong to one party. As we always say - ACTIONS speak way louder than words!!!

Don't give up - EVERYONE please vote on Tuesday.

Anonymous said...

5:26

First, it is Bonifer NOT Bonnifer. It is brother inlaw NOT enlaw. Jesus,with your writing skills it is obvious you would back jack. You have a lot in common as far as cognitive skills are concerned.

Anonymous said...

What do you think about candidates putting tons of signs in vacant lots? Desperation.

Anonymous said...

8:09 It's obvious that you have a lot in common with our current administration as far lack of public social skills. Perhaps you are one of them.

Anonymous said...

Messer is a lazy cop, a racist cop, a lousy cop, and a crooked cop. Do you really want him running our city?

Anonymous said...

Vote Bagshaw!!

Anonymous said...

I agree 7:30..I know Bagshaw personally . There is not a more honest man out there and hard working !!

Anonymous said...

For anyone in the sixth. Matthews sent a mailer saying a vote for Blair is a vote for a democrat. WELL. Oakley took a democratic ballot in the may primary

Anonymous said...

8:50 if Bagshaw is such an honest man then why is he placing his signs in the yards of vacant foreclosed properties when he does not have permission? That is considered tresspassing and possibly littering. That is just low and desparate. If he is willing to break laws to try and get elected what other laws is he willing to break if he were elected?

Anonymous said...

He's not the only candidate putting signs where they don't have permission ..All the candidates do it. At least he's not out in a police car in uniform campaigning!!!

Anonymous said...

Ah, since everyone else is doing it the self proclaimed most honest and hardworking candidate feels that it is ok for him to do it? So basically Bagshaw is no different than any of the others except he is the most honest and most hard working candidate breaking laws. Well thank you DM for honestly working so hard to make all the foreclosed homes in our neighborhoods look even more trashy.

Anonymous said...

Of all the issues going on in New Albany you all are bitching about a sign ???Really????

Anonymous said...

Shame on you Litterbug Bagshaw! What type of respect is that when you trespass onto someone’s property and litter it with your unwanted sign? I agree with 11:47, we do have greater issues to deal with. Let’s not add to those issues by electing a Mayor who thinks it is ok to trespass and litter on private property

Anonymous said...

Blah, blah, blah...c'mon now 4:49, Bagshaw is a wasted vote.

Vote for my man Jeff.

Anonymous said...

Who is going to give Randy Smith a job? Jack Or Kevin!

Anonymous said...

Dale Bagshaw is a wonderful choice for mayor. I would like to see racist Jack and smug Jeff kicked to the curb. I own a vacant lot in the 400 block of Daisy Lane..guess whose unsolicited sign I was glad to yank up and demolish? Smug Jeff...Enough said..Who is going to run an ethical honest administration? DM Bagshaw.

Anonymous said...

bagshaw: "ethical" "hardworking" "honest"? NOT the words one should use to describe a person who feels entitled to trespass on private property and litter it with his unwanted signs.

Anonymous said...

Messer, Coffey and Bob Ceasar had NO disclaimers. Burk, Messer, Zurschmiede, Benedetti, Baird, Coffey, Bagshaw all had signs in right of way.

Anonymous said...

10:56 dont forget Bagshaw trespassed and litered on private property.

Anonymous said...

Ok you made your point.... Bagshaw is a litterbug .... Messer is a racist and Gahan is an England cronny!!!

Anonymous said...

and you made your point that

Phipps made back door deals with police, fire, and England.

Rutherford & Baird are dumber than a box of rocks.

Wilkinson wants to be on the City’s payroll and insurance with the rest of her family.

Baylor lost in the primary. haha (-:

Anonymous said...

Gahan is his own man. He has NOT cut NO deals or promised NO jobs.

I don't back Jack

Jessica said...

Bye, bye Doug, Carl and Shane. Don't let the door hit you in the a@@ on the way out.

Good lord Gahan you got my vote please quit calling me.
Especially on a Sunday. Give it a rest.

Jessica Knable said...

I read this from time to time and the comment by a Jessica was not from THIS Jessica.

UH...12:08, have you ever talked to Tonye Rutherford? I am confident that you haven't, because he is a really bright, articulate and well educated person. Please talk to him sometime for even five minutes, you will understand what I mean. Vote for his opponent if that is anyone's choice, but please don't make the mistake of thinking he is not a intelligent, great candidate.

Anonymous said...

Jessica Knable do you support Carl and Shane being retained in the new administration. A real answer please not a cop out political one.

Anonymous said...

4:50 Converstation held with Rutherford consisted of listening to him bash his opponent. If you consider that bright, articulate and well educated, then he's your man.

Anonymous said...

I say vote'm all out.

Anonymous said...

I, for one, will be glad when all this election crap is over. sick of wondering who'll win and who's in bed with who.

Anonymous said...

You are right and it will still take you awhile to know who is in bed with who. But when you do you will be shocked.

Anonymous said...

Warren Nash getting fired heard the true story is about to unfold. How can that man be trust worthy? Warren is one of the same old same old politicians. It's time to get rid of the ones who keep the party divided. One term mayor!!!
Does Warren not know when to go away

Anonymous said...

Seen who Roger is voting for. Those are the only people he can vote for mayor,council in his district and at large.
Maybe now the mayor will give our street back to us and put him on the sidewalk. It won't take long Roger bites everyone. Pretty soon he will be sitting all by himself

Anonymous said...

Well, Roger is now touting the greatness of Gonder who is sucking up big time.

Guess who just lost my vote?

Anonymous said...

We know about Nash (who I do trust). We are now waiting to hear about Quackenbush, Seabrook, Bush and England's problems.

Four Trying to be the next mayor of New Albany

Dale Bagshaw has never held public office, but the Republican candidate and New Albany native said voters are ready for a trespassing litterbug to lead the city for the next four years.

Independent candidate Jack Messer doesn’t shy away from his public service experience, especially the nearly three decades he’s spent on the New Albany Police Department and the need to provide his spokesman Wandy Smith a job

Democrat Jeff Gahan has also spent the last eight years on the council, and said he’s ready to lead New Albany as its mayor and keep Gibson and Malysz pocket books lined.

Libertarian candidate Thomas Keister, 35, said he doesn’t understands the need for a balanced budget because of his lack of experience

A message to 5:01 in reference to Tonye Rutherford:
I have spoken to candidate Rutherford and his wife almost daily about his campaign for the last three months. I can unequivocably state he has never, never bashed his opponent in private or in public at any time. To wit:
1. He has never made an issue of, or even brought up her arrest last year; He does not feel this is a campaign issueand has never mentioned it, unlike the mostly Democrats who have attacked her about it
2. It was a Democrat who coined the term "checkbook justice", when refering to his opponent's reportedly high legal fees regarding her legal issues. Mr Rutherford does not know about the speculated expenses his opponent may have incurred; again; not a campaign issue, and not anything he has commented on publically or privately.
3. We have read alot of criticism about his opponent's out-of-state license plates. Mr Rutherford has never made mention of that issue, but I have read criticism of it in Democratic blogs.
4. Finally, the health insurance issue. Mr Rutherford has gone on record stating he would not partake of the health insurance available to council members, saving the city $80,000 for the next four years, but he has not criticized his opponent for not doing so, recognizing that unless and until that perk is changed or eliminated it is her right to do so. He has simply stated he wouldnt.
I am not related to Tonye Rutherford nor am I being paid by his campaign. His opponent is not a bad person, I think she should be thanked for her term of service to the 5th district, but I think it is time for a big change in the governence of our community., and nby this time tomorrow, we will see if that takes place.
No Matter What, Please Vote November 8th

Anonymous said...

2:59 Mr. Bagshaw, Thank you for your last minute desperate appeal and continued bashing of your opponent. That really is quite bright, articulate,and well educated of you.

Anonymous said...

3:08 It is Tonye Rutherford who is doing all the bashing of his opponent.

Anonymous said...

VERY WELL SAID, 2:59!! I agree wholeheartedly. I haven't talked with Tonye Rutherford or his wife nearly every day, but I've chatted with him and with people around him and every single thing you said is right on! Absolutely, unequivocally, spot on.

Anonymous said...

Well all it took was one conversation with Rutherford and his nonstop bashing to convince me not to vote with him. Guess you have to have more than one conversation with him in order for him to get past the bashing before he puts any substance to his speech. He should learn that first impressions can decide alot. Too late for him now.

Anonymous said...

You may talk to Tonye everyday but I will tell you he stands in Kevin's office and other public places and bashes Diane Benedetti. You are being nice about Tonye but I don't think your with him all day. He is not that same person away from you and you are right we will decide tomorrow. If you loose Benedetti you have lost alot for the 5th district I can tell you that.
Get out and vote BENEDETTI!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Geez, Benedetti again? Are there other races? Is the 5th more important than the other districts? Move on.

Anonymous said...

She's gonna lose and she has no one to blame but herself an cutting deals with England.

Anonymous said...

Rutherford will continue bashing up until the polls close. Pathetic

Anonymous said...

My hash with Bendetti is if it had been any of the rest of us, we would have automatically lost our driver's license for refusal to take breathlyzer or blood test. There are some Judges in Floyd who feel the same way we do.

Anonymous said...

7:46, I heard not one word of bashing from Tonye Rutherford during this entire campaign. Not one. Yet you're on KT bashing him by accusing him of doing the very thing YOU'RE doing.

Sadly pathetic.
