WHAT THE HEY??????

We sure have had a lot to talk about this week. I would
call it unexplainable bull crap.

We heard, too, Chief Crabtree was going to be thrown
under the bus. I guess he'll have a friend in Messer now.
By the way, what's going on with Messer and when does
the public find out what is his punishment is going to
be?

My family is Democrat, though we do try to vote for the
person with the right ideas, ideals, etc., and not straight
party. So, we have a big problem with the happenings
within the Party and the Harvest Homecoming Parade.

The election this fall is for County and State representa-
tives, not the CITY. Why in the hey did Shane Gibson
give Randy Smith permission to ride on the float with a
"candidate" shirt on? Why did the City try to upstage
local Democrats running for office this fall; because of
Shane? Go Ed.

Why in the hey did we use Sodrel's flatbed for the float
representing the party? Hell, we could have gotten you
a flatbed, free. Did you get it free because the gentleman
driving it was wearing a Todd Young shirt? Yes, I under-
stand he had to cover it with a vest but it was still
visible. We noticed it and a lot of others noticed it. Just
who do you "all" think you are fooling? Go Baron.

Why did Mrs. Benedetti and Randy Smith get into it?
We would love to have been privvy to that argument.

We were glad to see the partial list of past due free flushers
published. We hope some of you who have bashed a lot
of people over why we don't need our sewer rates hiked
because of certain people not paying their bills year
after year after year. The list is almost a reading of
who's who in New Albany.

The Windsor Restaurant Doesn't the same person
still own the building? Why isn't it under the owner's
name?

Jacque Hunter One of the first landlords out of the
starting gate when rental inspection was introduced
under Overton. Hell, he even helped start the legal
fund to fight the legislation and now certain slum lords
want to know what happened to their money.

Manzanita Tribe This would be the Redman's Club.
Our question is this. Is this the old Redman's Club
which is now Culbertson West and they simply
didn't change the paper work or is this the new
Redman's Club down next to the new Irish restaurant?

A couple of people would maintain the new Redman's
Club probably isn't even on a sewer.

John Mattingly Is he still working for our City behind
the scenes or is he truly out of the picture? We do
know he is one of England's BEST BUDDIES.

We were anxiously awaiting on the Mexican restaurant
opening downtown but now must boycott it until
the owner makes things right with the people he
screwed out of getting paid. One of the companies
he wrote a bad check to was Triple AAA Plumbing.
Another person he did not pay the money owed was
the artist who painted the murals in the restaurant
after the artist did it THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS
CHEAPER than what the Art's Council bid. And,
when you tell someone to go to another restaurant
who has existed for 40 years and let their low life
friends pay for this restaurants' work, well, let's just
say you have a problem.

We also understand codes and permits were ignored
with the electric and unlicensed Mexicans did the
work. The more people talk the more you find out.

And here we were so excited to go and experience
the new restaurant, as we have the others. Damn, do
they serve fresh guacamole?

We hope everyone has a good time at Harvest. We
plan to.

BTW, England is out of town again. Tell us it's not
another vacation.

Remember, these are the issues we talked about at
our kitchen table ALL WEEK.

I have got to believe Crabtree was TOLD to write the letter or make the comments the Police could take care of the "new" annexed area of town, which fell through.

I just don't see him taking that upon himself. Hell of a reason to take the fall.

I HEARD BENEDETTI AND SMITH WERE COZY, COZY. HAS ANYONE SEEN THE LETTER CRABTREE WROTE?

Anonymous said...

And don't forget the other issues on the table this week like Southern Indiana, Dalby and Coffee. He can really talk that talk but never walks the walk. When will people realize who's but he's up and how he does not serve the people? That's what I want to know.

For Gonder, get rid of some of England's top paid administrators and forget laying off the police and fire. England should start at the top of HIS staff and make an example of him meaning business.

Why did Mayor England dump Police Chief Crabtree ?

Anonymous said...

"Supposedly because he wrote the letter to Council stating the NA Police could handle the area of town he was trying to annex."

I still don't believe Crabtree would have taken it upon himself to write the letter.

I like the opinion on WAVE 3's sight about the announcement. It says "Why don't we (the people) fire the Mayor and keep the Chief". That's a good one.

The City Sewer Board was served with papers today for $500,000.00.

This money is owed to Rick Fox and Lee Cotner for their work in court forcing Georgetown to pay us the money they owed us and then the City decided Georgetown didn't have to. Shane Gibson got his money so why didn't these attorneys get paid? And, where the hey are we going to get it?

England was out of town in Indy working to get your property taxes raised. The Audit is in and Citizens For Accountability already have the copies. Guess he went up to plead his case. But he's back.

WHY DID BENEDETTI TRY TO STOP THE LIST OF FREE FLUSHERS FROM BEING MADE PUBLIC? SHE TOLD THE PUBLIC AND THE COUNCIL THAT WAS NOT PUBLIC INFORMATION (AND WE KNEW SHE WAS SO WRONG IN SAYING THAT).

Anonymous said...

Hat's off to our local citizen group.
They're the only ones who have stood up to Mayor England.
Citizens For Accountability Rocksss!

Englands in free fall. Raise my taxes and we'll vote you all out.

Well, except Price. He's got the right idea: Just vote NO.

Hey What's That Go on to the Mexican Restaurant it's being taken care of. Enjoy the guac.

I've had enough said...

This mayor has decided that he is going to continue threatening us until we throw him out of office.

The mayor wants to take all of our money from us.

Increase fees, EDIT and now he wants to raise our taxes.

I already work two jobs. What do they want me to do, work three jobs?

I'm with you said...

I loss my job due to cutbacks. I'll give the city a better deal and work circles around those union brats.
Lay them all off and hire non-union officers and fireman.
England should be the first too go.

typo: to go.

It's a shame said...

Cops angry? What else is new? Bet half the force is collecting overtime at Harvest Home Coming. Walking around stuffing their faces and their wallets with my famil's money..

The bloated salaries, pensions and health care benefits are bankrupting our city. Based on the waistline of some police and fireman it would seem that their choice of diet could be an issue too. How can these guys chase a frug dealer, a robber, put out a fire when they cannot even see the floor over their stomachs? Forget about chasing someone on those bicycles. Pulling them away from the public troth is long overdue.

Try a salad said...

Good points but you misspelled drug dealer.

Too funny.

Good grief, you sound just like Roger.

Thank you 1:53. So true, so true. Unions need to go!!

A lesson on how to write like a local guest columnist: Simply insert the name of anyone you wish to humiliate and call it journalistic integrity;

"The rigors that *INSERT FOES NAME HERE*'s victims have been called upon to undergo have been amply justified in the sphere of concrete achievement? *INSERT FOES NAME HERE*'s retinue is looking out for our best interests? We can stop serfism merely by permitting government officials entrée into private homes to search for uneducated barrators? These are all claims made recently by *INSERT FOES NAME HERE*. So, without further ado, I present you with this all-important piece of information: *INSERT FOES NAME HERE*'s goal is to produce a large number of thoroughly sinful extravagancies, most mingy indecencies, and, above all, the most disingenuous blasphemies against everything that I hold most sacred and most dear. This is abject libertinism!

I'm not normally one to criticize, but some people are responsible and others are not. *INSERT FOES NAME HERE* falls into the category of "not". An understanding of the damage that may be caused by his vainglorious fibs isn't something I expect everyone to develop the first time they hear about it. That's why I write over and over again and from so many different angles about how *INSERT FOES NAME HERE* cannot be tamed by "tolerance" and "accommodation" but is actually spurred on by such gestures. He sees such gestures as a sign of weakness on our part and is thereby encouraged to continue concealing information and, occasionally, blatantly lying.

Why has *INSERT FOES NAME HERE* so actively been suing people at random? Perhaps it's because he sees us merely as consumers in a market of undifferentiated possibilities, where choice itself becomes the good, novelty usurps beauty, and subjective experience displaces truth. Another possibility, which doesn't necessarily exclude any others, is that *INSERT FOES NAME HERE* seems to have recently added the word "phytopaleontological" to his otherwise simplistic vocabulary. I suppose he intends to use big words like that to obscure the fact that he really ought to to take something for his hysterical paranoia. I've heard that chlorpromazine works well. Obviously, some sort of medication should awaken *INSERT FOES NAME HERE* to the fact that I, for one, can definitely suggest how he ought to behave. Ultimately, however, the burden of acting with moral rectitude lies with *INSERT FOES NAME HERE* himself. And there you have it. Metagrobolism appears to have triumphed."

Wow I'm totally impressed.

Btw, what the hell was your point, other than the fact I can't understand a word you just wrote, other than insert name.

My question to NAC: How can you be against bridge tolls but be for increase sewer fees, stormwater, LOIT Tax and Property Tax caps?

Great point, I also would like an answer.

I am guessing but maybe distribution of beer.

I don't know who is telling you the Mexican Restaurant issues are resolved. Local Business Facebooks are hopping about a Grant this restaurant received, other workers not paid and showing pictures of the artist's works.

The Facebooks pages are also talking about all of the illegals hired to do the work.

This is what is wrong with New Albany. Where did the Grant come from? Surely it didn't come from Redevelopment and they didn't make them go through the hoops required to get the grant.

No guac for you.

My question for One Voice is how can you be against tolls and have an Ed Clere sign in your yard?

Why are you planning to run as a Democrat but you only have Republican signs in your yard?

One voice said...

Wow, that's funny. The last time I checked my yard (5am) I have no political signs. I'm glad to hear your stalking someone else instead of me.

Anonymous said...

Ain't that the truth. I got an Ed Clere sign too.

"While shooting down and never answering my specific question"

Lets see. I gave you several examples of the good things that 1Si does maybe you should read the post again.

2nd example:
NEW ALBANY, Ind. – (October 15, 2010) – The Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County (HFFC) has made a $100,000 donation to the Small Business Revolving Loan Fund program administered by One Southern Indiana. The loan program was first announced in December 2007 and initially capitalized by a $250,000 grant from the foundation. The HFFC fund was created to assist emerging private business enterprises based in Floyd County with expanding operations and retaining or increasing employees.

Coupled with the announcement of this new grant are three additional businesses named as the fund’s latest recipients. La Rosita Mexican Grill, New Albany Golf, Inc., and FlipC Gymnastics each have received funds to expand and improve business operations. Prior HFFC grant recipients include PTG Silicones, The New Albanian Brewing Company, and the Calumet Club.

La Rosita Mexican Grill has received a $50,000 loan to help fund expansion costs at its new downtown New Albany location in a building that sat vacant at 1515 East Market St. for many years. New Albany Springs Golf Course has recently reopened under new ownership with the assistance of a $45,000 loan. FlipC Gymnastics received a loan of $21,295, which will be used to purchase gymnastics and cheerleading equipment.

“We really couldn’t have done it without this funding - the Horseshoe Foundation really wants to see Floyd County businesses succeed. One Southern Indiana and the Southeast Indiana Small Business Development Center were also an enormous help to me throughout the loan application process.”

“Without this loan assistance from the Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County, purchasing this iconic golf course would not have been possible,” said Cary Hammond, owner of New Albany Springs Golf Course. “ The Horseshoe Foundation and One Southern Indiana truly believe in the power helping locally-owned business thrive.”

The Southeast Indiana Small Business Development Center (ISBDC) assists loan applicants with details of the application process and any required paperwork. “It is great to see so many different organizations such as the Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County, One Southern Indiana, and the Southeast ISBDC work together for the betterment of the community by supporting small businesses,” said Jeremy Couch, business advisor with the ISBDC.

You will find a familiar Co. Name that has benefited from the help of 1Si in the past. Your very own hypocrite ( The New Albanian Brewing Company ).

Tell THE MEXICAN RESTAURANT TO PAY THEIR PEOPLE, LIKE MARSHA. PAY HER OR PAY HER, WE WON'T BE THERE UNTIL YOU TAKE CARE OF MARSHA. FORGET YOUR GRANTS, FORGET THE BEER. GREAT PERSON, GREAT STARVING ARTIST WE SHOULD ALL BE PROUD OF. THEN, MAYBE, YOU WILL SEE US.
