GAHAN - - WHERE'S THE COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT?

Wow!  What a crowd!!!  If you weren't downtown last night you're square!!!!

I'M KIDDING folks.  Can you say cluster bust?  5 til 8, while people are still working (except for our local government)?  Local businesses never did see the influx of people into their establishments as was predicted.

Matter of fact, local businesses I talked with felt the closing of the streets HURT their business.  It's not like there's a lot of parking available for the business establishments on Market  much less not being able to get there unless you know the area.  If you were from Louisville you were screwed.

Dang.  12 police officers required and being paid overtime?

ALL OF THE MONEY WE SPENT REVAMPING THE AMPHITHEATRE?  Are you kidding?  You think the showing of the movie Top Gun is more of a major event than a band????????

Oh, that's right.  Some people say when the concerts were held at the amphitheatre, people simply left afterwards and didn't go downtown to eat and shop.  Well, you drew a lot more people, especially families to the amphitheatre.  Parents with children playing while mom and dad listened to the music.  Where are these people going to be able to sit and relax at?  Are we paying for seats, too?

Don't you think it's a different type of crowd(s) who attend the amphitheatre's concerts than who comes to see bands and just stand around and drink?

You scheduled these two events earlier and in the heart of the town and you did not have people go to the restaurants and eat -- except for the politicians and (under order by Gahan) City employees.

No legal permission to close the streets; no professional to help you plan these events; the police officers weren't assigned by the Board of Works, either.  What the heck?

Who's paying for all of the equipment which was necessary for the concert?   How many Street Department employees are working for this event?

No contracts signed for vending, beer - yet a couple of local businesses managed to get in on it.  The street closings (without any prior knowledge, either) proved to be a real pain for citizens not in the know (which were MOST of us).

Here's my wild conclusion.  Is this because you are trying to wean us away from our beautiful water front and amphitheatre because of the pie in the sky development named River Walk?  Ha.

The whole thing is a joke.  A joke on you for letting some hare brained idea happen without going to your local businesses and ASKING them what they thought and a cruel joke on citizens and businesses who feel this event for the past two weeks HURT their bottom line.  How strange for all of this to occur without public knowledge, lack of the BOW's legally required mandate, and on and on.  Damn.  Who is making probably about $60,000 a year to come up with this screwed up idea?  I need a job like that.

Anyways, I need to know where your complaint department is, Mayor Gahan.

Mayor Gahan's Department of Complaints is headed by Susie Gahan. You can find her at her school office where she hides away from any danger of coming into contact with New Albanians. Problem is, she'll just say something caustic and then talk about you behind your back, so the word never gets to Jeffey.

Sorry, KT, looks like we're SOL on this one.

It's keeping business AWAY from my downtown business, and you can bet I'm made as hell over it.

I walked by La Bocca and the French man and they were packed Went to Bank Street and there wasn't a seat to be had.

I don't know who you talked to.

Little Chef was empty though

Every place we went to was full as well . Not sure what you have been smoking but clearly you were not in attendance. Same old story on this blog ....lies as usual!

Hell yea the food establishments do well on Friday and Saturday night. They have always did well on the weekend. Live at 5 did not make that happen or maybe you just have not been around. The merchants do not want it on those days they do well , it needs to be days to bring business in on a day that actually can help. Maybe hump day on a Wednesday or Thursday. Jeff keep walking around with your beer in your hand for the second week and don't ask our businesses that have put money downtown what they want instead of making them mad. Michael Hall is a joke!!!

This blog has one thing right......the amphitheater did attract a different crowd..... A white trash Doug and Shellie England Crowd. Mayor Gahan your live at 5 is awesome. In time it will attract a crowd! You should tear down the amphitheater (aka Doug's labor of love venue that he used for his personal gain rather than the good of the community)! Btw.....didn't Doug and Shellie have the rustic frog do a bunch of work down there last year? How would families like it if they new the truth that the event they were at with there children was put on by a bunch dirty creeps running a strip joint. That looks good on our community. I think it's time the England crowd learns they are done in this town...

Anonymous said...

Wow, if I remember correctly the high school plays on the riverfront attracted at least twice the crowd as both Live@5' put together. They were awesome family events. I hope the mayor mans up and makes the right decision to put an end to his distraction.

Anonymous said...

Live at 5 is just another excuse for the artsy wananbe's to get together and get drunk and stoned at Baylor's house of swill. You losers are out whn ole jeffy boy resigns before the state forces him to

I have heard nothing but " What the heck is going on downtown with all the street closings? Sounds like to me nobody in New Albany knows about the Live at 5 deal. " The best 2 bands have played at the Friday deal. The Rumors and Smokin Joe and the Mudflaps. The other bands are a bunch of nobody's. Never heard of them. I see a decline in interest for the future live at 5 deal. And for people saying the city is broke. Ha. Plenty of money paying overtime for all the city employees working to get this ready. Would love to know the totals. I also heard Diane Benedetti's phone was ringing off the hook with unhappy people complaining about the Live at 5 show and all the street closings while she was on vacation in florida. If thats true, hope she had fun.

Anonymous said...

Benedetti has been on vacation ever since she got elected to city council, what a joke she is. Did she drive her Ohio licensed lexus to Florida?

SORRY BUT THE EATING ESTABLISHENTS WERE PACKED. THE WINERY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH ROOM.
It is better downtown. The idea is to draw people to downtown not the river-----which is hidden by the floodwall. People are not going to leave the riverfront to go to a downtown establishment.

Anonymous said...

ALL OF THESE PEOPLE WHO ARE COMPLAINING----NAME THEM-----CAESAR--BENEDETTI--ANTE UP!!!

Anonymous said...

All the police officers down at Live@5 should be paid out of the Live@5 account instead Chief Sherry Knight is giving them COMP TIME. WTF, that's time and half. What the F$$k is wrong with that woman?

Hey Jeffrey you better get a hold of this spending we're comin after you for mismanagement of taxpayers dollars.

Anonymous said...

Did you hear Price's Band turned down a gig at Live@5. Smart guy he knows what's going on.

Anonymous said...

Doesn't a local COP own the Winery?

Anonymous said...

Not every business is an eatery. Restaurants always do well and do not need "live at 5" to bring Friday night business. Friday nights were going along just fine before Gahan's folly. Yes, my business has suffered.

It looks to me like Gahan is trying to prove he is not England. OK, we get that. Now, get rid of the Friday night crap.

Talk about jokes... The ampitheater is a joke. It was nothing but a mistake. It has no lights, and no sound. It is also not equiped for any type of dancing because the floor is concrete. It also doesn't have a grande curtain so plays are out. It is costly for musicians and performers to have their shows there because they must bring all their own equipment, making it expensive for them to come. It was poorly researched and the most useless "asset" I've ever seen. It is obvious that the person who built it had never performed themselves, let alone knew A THING about entertainment. It should be demolished. If you think a block of concrete is beautiful, you have straight up awful taste.

And as for the Mayor and Live at five... I've been there both weeks. The crowd is growing and the bands rock. I'm glad to see a progressive running this city. If the businesses can't figure out how to make a crowd of happy concert attendees come into their business doors then the joke's on them. They don't deserve to be there in the first place.

And the word "Anyways" is not a word.

Anonymous said...

8:21 pm wrote "Yes my business has suffered."

Tell us about your business.

Anonymous said...

City staff went to each of the businesses and talked with them about the event prior to planning it and putting it on. So, try again. If you're complaining, you didn't do so when you were approached. Why is that?

Anonymous said...

I've been to both events. The music was good at both events. There were however more cops on OT than people listening to music. The stage at the riverfront was made for these events. Blocking off roads downtown is a problem for commuters at 5 pm on Friday. I would venture to guess that businesses downtown have not had significant increases of revenue because of this. Seems like when the Mayor makes a decision it's usually a bad one. This seems to be the case here too.

Anonymous said...

Streets are made for cars. Repeat. Streets are made for cars.

Anonymous said...

Who drives the cars?

People do.

Therefore, streets are made for people, unless you're a robot.

Anonymous said...

Asking artists to perform on the riverfront is an insult. You all obviously know NOTHING about the river front theater. Which leads me to believe you must be the ones or friends of the ones who built the stack of shit. ;) I'll break it down for you nice and simple so you can understand.

NO LIGHTS
NO SOUND
NO GRANDE CURTAIN
NO DRESSING ROOMS
NO FLY RAIL
NO DANCE FLOORS
NO WONDER NO ONE WANTS TO PERFORM THERE.

Anonymous said...

Actually, streets have been around a lot longer than cars. Y'know, for when people walked, or biked, or had horses and buggies...they've never been exclusively for cars. You live in a sad, strange little world.

Anonymous said...

The Riverfront was not made for entertainers. It was made as a place to put plaques honoring the former Mayor and his wife. That is really all that it is good for. "Live at Five" is a good idea and if you ever got out of NA you would see that it works in other cities.

Anonymous said...

I like the concerts moving around and not just being at the river, but what I don't understand is how can anyone say that the ampitheater won't work because it doesn't have:

LIGHTS
SOUND
GRANDE CURTAIN
DRESSING ROOMS
FLY RAIL
DANCE FLOORS

As far as I know the corner of Market and State does not have any of these things either, without paying to rent them.

Anonymous said...

The corner of State and Market has drunks, garbage, homeless people and kids on skateboards. Gee, I hope all you artists can draw a bigger crowd than you have because if not, this seems like a big waste of money.

Anonymous said...

Oh please help me Roger, Marcey and your cronies if you cannot take criticism on the situation downtown then you need to move on. Not everyone is for the magnitude that this has displayed. But to bash our riverfront is uncalled for. We know it's your group and the administration who writes this crap. Have you gave Marcey a job yet. You people instigate more drama for a city then one could take.
Look in the mirror of the product you have become!

Anonymous said...

get a real job you artist bums who run around New Alabny and act like you are somebody, especially you Louisville ones, go paint a fork or write a book nobody will read. You guys are the parasites of the world and the little people say fork you losers.

Anonymous said...

The situation downtown is fantastic. We have bustling restaurants, trendy shops, super cool art exhibits, and fun bands on a Friday evening that help the ambiance.

We have an amphitheater that's great fun when there's big packed events.

There's nothing to complain about, except little people who insist on making venomous statements about others and who absolutely seethe at the idea that New Albany isn't the backwards little hick town that it once was. Haven't you heard? Willful ignorance crossed with dumb anger causes health issues. You little people should really find a quiet spot to breathe.

Anonymous said...

Here's the problem I have with the Live at 5 set up. They say that they'll ahve some "family-friendly" movies and whatever else at the Amphitheater. OK. Well, sounds like they want families with kids there and the "adults" on the streets to be closed off downtown. I guess they're saying that the Live at 5 event is not suitable for families with small children. It is inappropriate, I suppose. So, what is it that we're saying to our families with kids? We're saying that we don't want them on the streets. We only want people there for driving through or for drinking and whatever else adults want to do without children around. Doens't sound very community-friendly to me, especially for a mayor who says he's for kids and for education and whatever else has to do with kids. He's kind of talking out of both sides of his mouth. Also, there was no visit with my uncle. He owns a business downtown and no one came to him. Just like no one gave him a personal letter or phone call to come to the event. He had heard by word of mouth that it was to begin, but otherwise, he did not hear from anyone about it and he did not help plan it or "okay" it.

Anonymous said...

If you don't want cars downtown why did we waste $360k for new police cars put all them fat ass cops on bikes and see what happens. I hope the State Boys lock you all up.

Anonymous said...

I think family friendly activities are to be planned as this thing gets going. They know it's a learning curve, and I was told directly that it's in the works.

'Momma, I just done burned them folks on my computer, I told them alls I wanted them ossifers to lock 'em up.'

Anonymous said...

There was more than one downtown business owner with a poster on his own window, and still didn't know anything was going on. That's a fact.

Anonymous said...

I understand in the first week at live at 5 there would be kinks to be worked out. But for someone on here to tell me as a business owner down here that someone came in to talk to me before the second Friday came about is a BOLD FACE LIE!!!
I just wish people could admit that mistakes have been made. You might bash Diane Benedetti but I was one of her phone calls and she listened and was very concerned. By the time I hung up I had calmed down and was convinced to give it a chance. And we both new there were things that needed to be worked out. I did tell her I would rather it happen early in the week when my business really needs it.

Anonymous said...

Diane who? What's your business?

Anonymous said...

Everyone here owns a business, but no one will say what they are or who they are. Does that sound very likely? So, if you own a business downtown, why are you calling Benedetti and not Phipps or Coffey?

Anonymous said...

So that's the big idea, promoting public drunkenness downtown? This city has went to hades in a hand basket!

Anonymous said...

I called Diane because she has always lended a helping hand in any circumstance that has arose. Why I am not putting my name on here is if your not part of that group and say anything negative they just do not take constructive criticism very well.

Anonymous said...

I did not see any drunken people at Live at Five. No one is promoting public drunkenness. You must be thinking of the previous administration.

Anonymous said...

Cracks me up. They complained when England did it by the water, now they complain when Gahan does it in the street. They're mad as hell but anonymous. They own businesses but won't say which ones. And funnier yet, they think the comments here are constructive criticism. Someone pass me a fatty.

Anonymous said...

What I want to know is how much PLANNING really went into this thing and where does the money come from? If this had been handled appropriately, business owners would have had input. The city should have come to businesses and ASKED; "What can we do to help your business grow?" Instead, they arbitrarily took an idea somebody threw out and ran with it. They ran badly. Closing 3 streets is just not necessary and not practical. Not consulting with ALL business owners is going to get the project a very bad reception especially when there is very little benefit to businesses. Plus, the Ampitheater should be utilized because we, after all, have paid for it. There are restroom facilities, and a playground for kids. But, seems it will continue to go unused due to personal differences which should not be allowed to interfere with city functions. Musicians are always schlepping equipment around. Perhaps using this money to install electricity at the ampetheater would have been a better investment.

How many cops does it take to patrol live at 5? answer 1, the other 11 were too busy doing nothing. Oh thats right chief Knight wants 1 cop per attendee.

Good planning waste our tax dollars Knight, I guess this is part of your strategy of getting away from targeted patrols and spreading out the police force huh?

Anonymous said...

No, Rog, I think I'll go again this Friday and see what lies I can make up. Went last Friday. That was the second Live @ 5. I went because they DID come to see me after they f'd up the week before. They had not said anything BEFORE they started this crap. Then they were all worried about it. Their visit after the fact didn't make up for the lost business or the fact that no one asked what I think about the plan.

This week, Rog, I'm sure you'll be quite satisfied. Have a nice party. I'll see you there, but don't plan to stay long.

This Live at Five thing is a screwed up mess and a very bad idea.

If you did not attend "Exclusively New Albany" last night you missed a great time.

Steve Price did a fantastic job.

Anonymous said...

I was at Exclusively New Albany last night. Here are several things I noticed.

1. Mayor Gahan was there. For all of FIVE minutes, it seemed. He was there, made his appearance, and left.

2. Former Mayor Doug England was directing the parking of cars in grassy property next door which I understand belongs to Steve Price. Steve graciously allowed people to park there, and former Mayor England, dressed in shorts and casual wear, seemed to be enjoying his role of greeting people coming in.

3. It was a beautiful setting. The Binghams were gracious hosts, and the home and grounds were quite lovely. David Bingham said they had worked to make it look lovely, and they did.

4. Saw all kinds of movers and shakers there, among us ordinary folk. I like to see people like Curt Peters, Stephanie Griffith, and other friendly faces doing what they do so well.

5. The music was loud, too loud, and the belly dancing took up too much of the people's time, causing us all to stand there and watch them because they were right in the middle of everything. It was too long.

6. The most fun part of the evening, as far as the entertainment goes, was the karaoke. Everyone was trying to enjoy conversations in spite of the music until Steve Price and others got up to do karaoke. Once he started that, people joined in, dancing and singing, and seemed to me that everyone had a great time.

And now an admonishment for one Roger Baylor (whose name comes up far too frequently on this blog).

Roger, you created an entire post intended to slam, once again, an upstanding and helpful member of this community, Steve Price. In fact, Steve was ASKED to do the karaoke. He did not, as you claim in your blog post, strike a deal that he would allow parking next door if only he could do his karaoke. That is asinine and, frankly, it's an ignorant assertion, even from you. It would serve you well, Roger, to learn how to go with the flow. You know, when something is going on, just go with it. Don't write about it. Don't complain about it. Don't gossip about it. Just learn to COEXIST. You apparently wanted to be part of the event last night. I saw you there. So, instead of making up an entire article dedicated to enhancing the already toxic opinion you have invented about this man, why don't you just learn to go with it? And if you can't, then stay the hell away.

The rest of us had a blast last night!

Anonymous said...

I agree 100%, 6:12. This is about the community, not Roger.

Anonymous said...

I wastn't there last night but I heard the mayor hardly showed up and didn't talk to no one as usual.

Anonymous said...

Interesting comment from 6:12. I don't know Steve Price but I sure do get a different idea about him from what is always written about him. I want to know why this is important. If Steve Price is not elected, why would Baylor keep writing about him then?

Have you read Freedom Of Speech today? I have to say Erik and staff done one hell of a job. FYI I cancelled the News & Tribune today. Maybe they will get the message.

Anonymous said...

9:53, I WAS there, and I'm no liar. In addition to this, I didn't say that Steve Price's voice was "good" in the way of professional singers. But he hit most of the notes pretty well and he chose songs most of us could sing with. You need to learn, like Roger, to go with it. Most people were interacting with it, whether you like it or not (or were there yourself, frankly).

Also, about the belly dancing, it was too long, as I said, and took away our ability to walk around easily and talk with friends. However, I do want to say that they were very good and they did add some fun to the evening.

Anonymous said...

I was there too. He sounded terrible. The more he drank the worse he got. The last song someone actually jerked the cord and shut him down.

My friends in the local GOP are going to be hopping mad, but I think this is a really good movefor numerous reasons.

What's the concensus, folks?

I'm in the local GOP, and I'm not hopping mad. It's about time someone did something to help people get out of an egregious situation-to say the LEAST.

I read Freedom of Speech. It's about the audit. It's also about what the paper didn't include when writing about it. Very good job, FOS! You're actual JOURNALISTS (unlike someone we know who keeps calling himself one).

7:39; You are so right, FOS' deciphering of the audit issues and the less than forthcoming coverage by the Trib is spot on; she did an amazing of ferreting out the information.
Here's my question w/ no bombasticity (is that a word?) Mayor Gahan is a mess, the books are in a mess FOS says they have addt'l information re the current administration...

What about a recall?? What exactly would it take to accomplish it? What grounds could be brought to impeach/recall Mayor Gahan?

Who can research what it would take to do said, or even find out if it is feasible??Our city, despite some of the downtown revitalization is not doing well.

I nominate Rick Fox or Chris Lane to research the feasibility what steps would need to be put in place for a recall.

I'll sign the petition first...who is with me?? Is this feasible??

I'm so glad you like Gahan, 9:52. Heck, I like Gahan. Just not for mayor. Strandz and Threadz has a new business in its building, called Artisan. They had a ribbon cutting last night, only guess what? Mayor Gahan didn't show up. As usual, Stephanie and the others gave it a smiling face and went on. But it was a slap in they face and they felt it. There was no ribbon cutting, only a big party. Nice job, Gahan. Way to support one of the pillar businesses in our community.

Anonymous said...

Live at Five is a great idea. Last night was the best yet. Please DON'T join the fun. You would ruin it for everyone. Stay home and type mean lies instead!

Anonymous said...

9:24, we can't do a recall. There's no law on our books providing for anything like that. Neither Rick Fox nor Chris Lane would be good choices. Rick is in bed with half of the bad guys, and Chris Lane works right in the middle of the crap going on and he apparently has no idea.

Anonymous said...

What were the police doing there at Live at 5 last night? That must have created some excitement and fun for you.

I don't doubt that people are having "fun" at Live at 5. That doesn't make it a good idea. All it is is Gahan trying to differentiate himself from England.

By the way, bombasticity is not a word. I forgot to address that earlier.

Anonymous said...

Yes, the Artisan Market and S&T are a huge asset to the community, I agree! Stefanie is a gem.

But, did it occur to you that perhaps Gahan had something come up that pertained to his role as Mayor that may have demanded his attention? I mean, maybe you don't know EVERYTHING about what he does?

It seems to me if people don't do what you want them to do all of the time, all of a sudden they're bad.

Oh, and what sense does saying, 'It may be fun, but that doesn't mean it's good...' about Live @ 5? Um, if it's fun, drawing people downtown (and it is- I got an invite from a friend to head down there, and I don't live downtown), and generating business, how is it a bad idea?

Indiana does not have recall on any state officials so I would doubt that it would apply to local officials. I do not think that all 18 of you would be enough anyway.

Anonymous said...

We may not know everything about what Gahan does, but when there's a ribbon cutting and in the event the mayor can not attend, courtesy would have that he (or she) send someone from the mayor's office to attend the event instead. It's rude just to not show up. Really rude. And it says a lot about Mayor Jeffey.

I would prefer to be pleased with our mayor, and I don't like disliking what he's doing, but he's doing things for all the wrong reasons (he's doing what Warren tells him to do), and he's already lost his way.

Anonymous said...

I feel for this council the respect starts from the top Mr Mayor.

Anonymous said...

Maryann is rude, she needs to remember she works for us! Why would Gahan hire a lawyer to be the City-Controller? He is a snake and everyone up on the third floor that still supports him is an idiot.

The City is falling apart. When is Gahan going to hire someone to oversee the Utilities Dept? April Dickey is in way over her head and that office needs help!

Anonymous said...

Amen to that, 5:58 and 5:53. I hate to say it, but I agree. The controller is sassy and apparently doesn't do the job any better than her mother did and needs to be replaced.

Anonymous said...

I have to admit that I got a bit turned on by the belly dancing the other night. I had to take a cold shower when I got home. Anybody else get all hot & bothered like me?

Anonymous said...

No, Rog, you're the only one.

Anonymous said...

Larry Kochert has the same reaction when he sees Rog's package ride past.

Anonymous said...

Tif District's will keep the city going. Do some investigating. Plenty of money for the city to throw around.

april dickey is an idiot and so is missy sarkinson, the biggest idiot is the skinhead who sits in the mayor's office though

Thanks to whomever posted that there is no provision in the Indiana Code to recall elected mayors in our state.
I had suggested Rick Fox or Chris Lane, as I understand they are Republicans and would not be influenced by the Democratic stranglehold that runs our city.
I'm not saying that Jeff Gahan should be replaced, I'm just saying he seems to have done such a myriad of things that upset so many people.
What's the answer? We have a good city, it has the potential to be great..keep informed, keep going to city council meetings, keep the elected officials feet to the fire, keep buying local, stsay off drugs, don't abuse your or anyone elses kids, pay your taxes, but most of all...keep your grass cut.
I LOVE NEW ALBANY

Anonymous said...

All of this because his administration uses a stage in addition to the ill-equipped yellow monstrosity on the river bank? Really? Can't take it, can you? If a person does something that is not your idea, then you hate them. Grow up.and quit being so mean.

Anonymous said...

Mary Ann needs to realize we can hold her financially accountable to us taxpayers. She continues to screw up on purpose too. She is an unfit controller. I agree with everything written on FOS.

Anonymous said...

Mary Ann is doing a fine job. I think she's a nice person, too. You haters are always just gonna hate!

Hi, my name is New Albany Resident number 1. I like to come on an anonymous blog and mention people by name, and say hateful things about them. You'll never know who I am, though, because I'd never actually want the horrible things I say to be associated with me. I'm of average- perhaps even below average intelligence. I'm a middle manager somewhere, or maybe I work in mid level government. I could do better with my life, but I'm lazy, and everything is everyone else's fault anyway. They're the ones that caused everything. The sad thing is, I truly believe this.

I'll go against what's best for me and my town if it comes from someone I'm secretly intimidated by. I'd rather see myself fail than them succeed, because I'm that obsessed with these people. While they're busy succeeding and making positive changes, I'll be giddy with the fact that I can make cheap potshots at them. If they succeed, that may make me irrelevant and that scares the crap out of me.

A lot of times, I'm racist, but only when I'll never be found out. Of course I swear up and down that I'm not and it doesn't influence my decisions, but you know how that goes. Anonymous blogs let me say all kinds of stuff, and people will never know it was me.

If you know me, you probably don't even really like me that much. You put up with me simply because I hold things over your head. Or, maybe our parents were friends, so you keep the cordial relationship going. Perhaps because I hold that mid level government position, I know things about you that you don't want getting out. Either way, I'm not someone people go out of their way to be friends with, though it seems like they do.

Or, maybe I am. Maybe none of the above is actually true. Maybe I'm one of those people that everyone loves because I have charisma and respect in New Albany. Maybe I have all of you fooled, and though I seem genuine, I'm actually not confident at all and only care about myself. If you start to see what a sad little person I am inside, and the horrible things I say on blogs, you wouldn't like me at all, but that's the way I REALLY am.

I guess it doesn't matter who I am, because I'm going to continue to be miserable, and a thorn in everyone's side. I will make sure that any positive momentum forward will be killed- and if I can't kill it, I'll make sure I smear whoever's involved.

Who am I? I'm an anonymous commentor on this KT blog. I'm an anonymous blog owner like FOS. I am many people, and I am no one.

Anonymous said...

Well hello no one how are you ?

Anonymous said...

no one is gahan

Anonymous said...

hey all you artist bums who have invaded new albany why dont you just go sleep in your cars down at live at 5, we dont want you living here, besides it might give the cops something to do, a little night patrol.

Anonymous said...

Wow, no griping for 18 hours? Are city/county workers all gone from the office today?

Anonymous said...

Artists and creative thinkers are welcome here. It is you, the old fuddy-duddies, who are no longer welcome.

Anonymous said...

Someone call the medics. Dead thread being steered by unresponsive blogger.

fork you thrasher

Anonymous said...

I guess the Bitchen Table hasn't found the next complaint. From historical factors we are at least 6 to 9 days away from a new post.

Anonymous said...

Time for another Live at 5 event tomorrow evening. Who plans to attend?

Anonymous said...

live at 5 sucks

Anonymous said...

Thank you, Bob. Next?

Anonymous said...

As long as the event focuses on the Swill House area, I'm not going. Period.

Anonymous said...

Good. Stay home.

Anonymous said...

Can't say you'd be welcome there...

Anonymous said...

534 pm, does this mean it's at Past Times?

Anonymous said...

Steve Laduke needs to keep his mouth shut before someone shuts it for him. He is all about drama and needs to be taken off the parks board. Steve plays both sides of the fence all the time. Which is not good for any of us. A person like that doesn't have our best interest at heart Roger.

Anonymous said...

Past Times is way better then the 'swill house' let alone live @ 5. I'm just wondering how they are paying all these cops to stand around and BS. Now they had a fire truck. The dollars keep adding up and I hope it's NOT my tax dollars paying for this.

Fed Up Taxpayer said...

The county is NO worse than the city. The county doesn't pay their far share and the city never pays back what they borrow from other funds. In the end city taxpayers get screwed either way. What this about another tax anyone know?

concern taxpayer said...

Fork them all the let Mitch Daniels sort them out.

Anonymous said...

Exactly how much does it cost to park a fire truck on the street?

Anonymous said...

OK, I'll see y'all today on Bank Street at 5:00. Should be fun!

Anonymous said...

It cost about 2,400 dollars an hour to park a fire truck on the side of the street. The plus is you save is gas because they are not driving around.

Anonymous said...

I heard the next Live at 5 they are going to park the portable stage in the parking lot next to the amphitheater. Bathrooms under the amphitheater will be open because that about the only thing it's good for......taking a dump.

Anonymous said...

Birds of a feather drown together.

Anonymous said...

It is my understanding that Doug has agreed to be the master of ceremonies for tonight's Live at 5. I hear he's going to kick things off by singing "I'm a little tea pot," complete with gestures.

Anonymous said...

I heard that they originally wanted mayor Jeff to be the master of ceremonies tonight, but they were afraid that Erika would disrupt everything by rushing to the stage to bring him a beer.

Anonymous said...

I would be amazed if you could prove to me that it cost $2400/hour to park a fire truck on the street. I will further be amazed if it cost more than a couple of dollars in gas to drive it sit there as opposed to being inside the firehouse.

Anonymous said...

The only thing you all should be thinking about is why the fire truck is there to begin with. Anyone get hurt. They are there. Anything catches fire. They are there. They are on duty for 24 hrs at a time. So it really doesn't matter why they are there. They are there because they were told to be there and they follow orders. Or they wanted to go there and see the show. This blog is a bunch of lame cry-babies who love to cry about anything. I hope it makes you feel better about yourself because all it's doing is making you sound like ass-holes.

fork you tharsher and all your art buddy losers

Anonymous said...

who is this Thrasher person ?? Don't know him !!!

Anonymous said...

He's a professional working artist liked by almost everyone except for the little person posting here.

Anonymous said...

Well he didn't post the thing about the Fire truck. I did.

Anonymous said...

working artist yeh right the only thing artists do is live off others who do work

Anonymous said...

Except, you don't work. You just come here and bitch.

Go find a new place to live, pathetic little soul.

Anonymous said...

i will put my tax return against yours anyday, wait you dont file taxes do you artsy bum?

Anonymous said...

live at 5 should be renamed drunk losers at 5 get a job you bums

Anonymous said...

I was at Live at Five... not one drunk there. Quit lying.

Anonymous said...

First of all, if you claim that not one drunk was there, YOU'RE lying. That's a ridiculous assertion. No one drunk at an event outside a bar. Obviously, you're naive, 6:10.

As to the person who keeps writing "Fork you, Thrasher," let's get this out in the open. What's your beef? Dave Thrasher is a community-minded, whimsy-loving, artist who happened to make a giant fork. This is something we can ALL enjoy. As I understand it, Ed Clere came up with the idea of his doing the fork, calling it "The Fork in the Road," and being an attention-getting piece of art at the grand entrance to a neighborhood full of excellent eateries. I have seen people put the "Fork in the Road" in their Facebook profile pictures (they pose by it). I used it as a point of reference in a conversation out on Bank Street last night (yes, I went and I had fun) when I told someone where all the art projects were.

Frankly, Dave Thrasher did a fantastic job on the fork. It's a great addition to our restaurant area. Many, many movers and shakers have supported the project. Many of us drive by it, see it, smile, and then notice our streets filled with PEOPLE. People going to restaurants. People walking their dogs. People meeting and chatting. People. Instead of just a few parked cars in front of buildings with nothing in them but dust.

So, shut up about your rude comment, 5:01. I've ignored it about as long as I can stand it. You've made your point.

Anonymous said...

Not one drunk. It ends at 8:00. I stand by my statement. Why would that make you so angry?

Anonymous said...

all it takes is .08 BAC to be legally drunk just ask Benedetti, I say bring more state cops to downtown new albany since gahan's keystone cops dont do their job and uphold the law they are sworn to do

Anonymous said...

Oh I just got disappointed I love NA EXCHANGE why does IAN feel he needs to move downtown BOOOOOOOO!!!
Then I hear he is hooking up with Baylor well I will be done with Ian. I can't believe this is happening . I don't go in Baylors place because he is crazy. That man has hurt his own business no one has to do it for him.

Anonymous said...

7:25... I say you are just another sore loser on this blog.

Anonymous said...

go sleep in your car loser

Anonymous said...

Well, 7:01, in the first place, I'm not angry. Just dumbfounded. Drunk doesn't mean walking all crazy and acting silly or mean. You can be pretty drunk without doing any of that. Been there before, friend.

I AM angry about the constant Thrasher comment. It's nothing but mean and ignorant.

Anonymous said...

see the fork in the road, now take the other road loser and spin your yarns in some other town. your'e a train wreck and so are your buddies.

Anonymous said...

NA Exchange, another overpriced soon to die in downtown eatery following the pied piper baylor and his artisan idiots, better get a different fork cause baylor is forking all you fools.

bring back rainbow bread and duffys baby

Anonymous said...

NA Exchange is a great place and I'm hoping it will replace people's apparent need to visit Baylor's swill house. They'll have somewhere actually good to go, and they'll stop going out for swill.

Baylor has burnt too many bridges around here with people and I'm sick of his high horse attitude and how he wants to make swill and keep people from going to church. He's a disgusting slimy snake.

Anonymous said...

This blog can be vicious

Anonymous said...

Baylor is vicious.

Anonymous said...

I don't believe the Bank Street Brewhores have anything to brag about after the last two weeks at Live @ Five Event. You would think by now he would get the message.

Anonymous said...

call it dead at 5 just like gahan's administration dead on arrival, go Seabrook!

Anonymous said...

I didnt like his remark about the St.Marys picnic.

But they did better than last year by $12,000 so God was on their side.

Anonymous said...

Are you talking about the St. Mary's Drunk Fest?

Anonymous said...

The fork is lovely! Long live the fork.

Anonymous said...

.08 BAC is when you are driving.

Anonymous said...

The fork in the road was built with mainly money from the tourism bureau, the same one that failed to support the bicentennial project. Obviously they decided throwing money into something that "cheesy" would be better. Look, there's art and there's stuff people get paid to do cos they know the right people. It's silly looking. yeah it gets attention, but it's silly. Furthermore the paintings on the road were placed there without proper board of works approval. Community minded? Funny how everybody who profits off the community is community minded. Question is, is it really good for the community, not is it popular and makes me money?
Good day.

Anonymous said...

I'm glad you touch on the issues of is it good for the community 10:26.

On that note....is Diane Benidetti good for the community?

I mean, I know shes not popular (by her margin of winning in the last election and I have no comment if she making money from her position, however, the news and trib did just write an aritcle a few weeks ago about her lunch date before the redevelopment commission's meeting with developer Jack BooBoo.

Anonymous said...

On that note, are *you* good for the community? Or, do you just moan and complain on a blog that should really ask itself if *it* is good for the community?

Anonymous said...

That's a good one 3:20, Brewhores is correct. The City of New Albany owes fluffinstuff and so does the other bars. Buy my swill or else.

Anonymous said...

Did anyone hear about Jeffrey? On Father's Day over at the Bat's game Him and the Jeffersonville Mayor attended. They had our very own Jeffrey throw a ball before the game. It only bounced three times before getting to the plate. I guess Jeffrey is way better at lying then throwing a baseball.

ROFLMFAO

Bats Fan said...

I sure bet he didn't want that information out did he?

Anonymous said...

Hey 1:34...not true and it was not Father's Day. Can you even try to tell the truth? Nope. just more lies because you are mean and jealous. Too bad you lost.

Anonymous said...

Well evidently your not popular either because your not sitting in her seat. Way to go Benedetti for putting extra time in to do your homework before a vote was taken. I sure can't say that about too many of the other elected people. Oh wait a minute unless they are getting something in return. I have always called her for anything and I'm telling you she is one they always follows through.
By the way there was another council person there so why are you not talking about Kevin. You got a problem with her?

Anonymous said...

Good-bye, fair blog. I'm getting sick of all the lies from both Baylor's and Denhart's camps.

Anonymous said...

Don't you think it's about time to change the topic? I think there is something coming very soon you will all start griping about.

Anonymous said...

Are you talking about the new tax?

Anonymous said...

WHAT NEW TAX?????????????????

Anonymous said...

Yep. Stupidity tax. All of you will be paying in the highest bracket.

Anonymous said...

Fork you, Thrasher!

Anonymous said...

oh my god if thats true 9:18 this city is going to be rich

Anonymous said...

I understand that there are going to be more Federal Housing built in New Albany ? Anyone else here that ? No wonder the city is strapped for money. Nowhere to build new business or normal housing. Fire, Ems, Police strapped taking care of low income crap. Where does it end ? It will bite this city in the ass one day.

Anonymous said...

There will also be a tax on excessive use of question marks. Fork it over, criminal.

Anonymous said...

Question marks are cool.

Anonymous said...

a new tax on bum artists in new albany, oh wait they dont work! fork you thrasher and your buddies who think they are artists.

do what you do best, go drink and pretend you are something

Anonymous said...

Man, that stupidity bank is going to fill quicker than I thought!

Anonymous said...

Has anyone heard anymore about Bush and Seabrook paying this claims for Henderson? Is there an investigation going on?

Anonymous said...

Sounds like someone failed art appreciation before he flunked out of middle school.

Anonymous said...

art appreciation is a fork? fork you, go do whatever it is you do, oh that's right, nothing

Looks like a busy night for the council monday. Ethics Ordinance, Humans Rights Ordinance and an ordinance attempting to take away spending power from the board of works.
