Yes, you read it correctly. The title says "forked", as in forks, knives and spoons.
Have you noticed? We have forks painted in both lanes of Market in various locations.
Who got forked, you ask? There are forks painted on Market street in both lanes between the Mexican restaurant and Little Chef; there is a fork in front of Hugh E. Bir's; there is a fork on down from there in front of nothing; and there is a fork in front of Vic's.
We say, hm mm. We can see some logic so far as maybe those forks are designating places to eat, but the logic fails when it gets to Hugh's. Logic fails when you drive down two or three more blocks and see one. Logic fails when it comes to Vic's because you would actually have to want to go to Vic's and know about Vic's in order to find this fork.
Also, be aware, you may drive over the forks before you realize they are there.
There has been no news about our "forks" except maybe a word or two on Twitter. Is this DNA's work?
What is the purpose? Which group authorized and paid for this? Or, heaven forbid, did someone simply run out of things to do?
We guess there is nothing like getting "forked" in the middle of the night and no one being aware. At least it made for a good laugh among some.
So, if someone asks if you know about the "forks" - now you do.

Regarding the forks. These were put here as part of an art project and as a way to call attention to the eateries around New Albany. No big mystery there.

I have some awareness of the forks in the road. It's only part of an art project that is aimed at showing visitors where you might stop for a bite to eat. It's a great idea and we have a local artist involved. I've chatted with him about it several times. It's really nothing more than something that's upbeat, fun and encouraging. Just what New Albany needs (especially judging by the negativity posted on here the past few days).

I just talked to a Mr. Davis at INDOT @ 317-232-5533 they took a complaint (art work) and will contact the Street Department. He just contacted me and said they had NO knowledge or who approved this so called Art work.

I am so disappointed. I really thought Gahan was going to be different. Not only has nothing changed, but I hear he has a "special interest" group pushing him to make decisions that are not based on who is best for the job, but who they want from their group in the job. There were only two experienced applicants with any experience and the one with the most experience backed out because her house burned down---- we got the other. I wish all of you people out there who are CPA's and have all of that experience with governmnet finance would have applied. Remember none of these are four year appointments---they serve as long as they do the job.. BUT YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT ONE THING---HE is lacking some backbone.
