Merry Christmas to you, too, Kitchen Table, and have a safe and happy start to your New Year!

Merry Christmas KT, you're simply the best.

Happy Winter Solstice, the holiday that predates christianity. May the geat goddess bless you religious bigots!

My, my, we are testy.

Merry Christmas to you, 6:26, and to Kitchen Table and to all who read and post. I pray blessings and a wonderful holiday season for you all.

May 2012 be way less sucky than 2011.

I pray to my deity that the comment posters at KT blog learn kindness and humility, rather than bitterness, pettiness, and cruelty.

I pray to my deity for super tasty locally crafted beer- because, have you seen the chemical list on the mass produced pee water beers? Holy moly, it's less beer than toxic waste you're pouring down your throats! Really! Google it. Luckily, my deity has provided me a world renowned local brewery with an ever changing selection. My deity ROCKS that way.

I pray to my deity for the success of ALL NA businesses...and not for the demise of the ones whose owners I may disagree with.

Have a wonderful holiday and solstice season.

Merry Saturnalia to all!

My sincere best wishes for a joyous Kwanzaa to all KT readers.

7:37, I pray the same for you. May you learn kindness and humility rather than snarky, cynical retorts. May you forget all put downs, and may you stop bragging about beer and get onto more intellectual pursuits.

I always enjoy a nice Kwanzaa celebration, 8:09, with all our family here in town. We get about 45 people together at my sister's house and have a big celebration. Thanks for remembering our great holiday!

Okay. Roger is getting a BUILDING PATIO BUILDOUT?? WHAT ON EARTH IS DOUG ENGLAND DOING? IS IT POSSIBLE THAT HE IS TRYING TO RUIN NEW ALBANY? WHAT ABOUT BUILDING CODES? SOMETHING REALLY STINKS HERE.

Looks like Carl is keeping his job after all. That's just a slap in the face.

speaking of beer, I was just down at the K of C for a Christmas party and they never took down the podium from election night. The lonely beer that Vicki D gave to Gahan is still sitting there.

Anonymous said...

That's crap 6:13 Gahan told me he enjoyed (Budweiser) it. Get over it!

Anonymous said...

What is Carl's job?

I would like to wish Kitchen Table administrator and all my friends a very Merry Christmas. I wish you and your family and friends health, happiness and prosperity in 2012.
May you receive many blessings and remember the true meaning of togetherness of the season!

I would like to take the time to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a special shout out to all of our troops keeping us all safe.

Any news on who's leading our police and fire agencies. Hopefully jeff picks the best man for the job and doesn't worry about his politics.

Anonymous said...

Mike Mills police chief. Rob Brown fire chief.

Anonymous said...

Malysh is keeping his job??? No, no, NO!

That's it for Jeff. Keeping any England lackey in there is unacceptable. He's a one-termer and I regret my vote.

Anonymous said...

Ron Brown? What a crock!! I'm sure with his daddy(Ron Toran) on the transition team and on the committee to pick for Fire Chief that there is no politics and good ol boys club influences there!!!

Anonymous said...

I hear The Keg hired that loser friend of Roger's, Andy Terrell. Guess I've gotta write them off my list too.

Anonymous said...

Oh Andy could not get any money out of the city for na1 sp he is working for Todd Antz that is interesting. I know Randy smith could not afford to hire him back.

Anonymous said...

It's for sure. Malysz the redevelopment chief under Gahan. How's that change working for you?

Anonymous said...

That's disgusting. Hate to say it. We should have elected the Republican.

Anonymous said...

Somebody's influencing Gahan big time. Imagine who would have their thumbs on the poor helpless boy. I agree with 12:21. I regret my vote too. Good thing I didn't also give him any money.

Anonymous said...

You morons got what you deserved. Happy pagan holidays.

Hearing Matt Dennison is out.

Anonymous said...

The people on this blog are so misinformed. Juliott is the fire chief and Whitlow is the police chief. Whitlow is a republican I hear which is a weird appointment. Chief Bailey is doing a good job, I have no idea why Jeff would change him of all people. I also hear Matt Dennison not staying.

Anonymous said...

Ur all wrong. Sherry knight is the new police chief and Juliot is fire and bye bye to Matt

Anonymous said...

I hear Knight is pretty lazy. A friend of mine who works on the PD said none of the officers would follow her into a room full of free $100 bills.

Anonymous said...

It sounds like jeff is in hot water! He has already lost votes oh no

Anonymous said...

Whatever, Roger.

Anonymous said...

Keep eating Jeff alive...I knew you would.

Ron Brown Chief? Wow I guess the Fire Dept. Will go back to being leaded by a dictator just like his dad (Ron Toran) did for 12 years!!! I have friends on the Fire Dept. That said that Ron was the worst Chief the Dept ever had in their history! And that his son Ron Brown is no different than his dad, they call him bipolar Ronnie!! I hope Jeff keeps Juliott as Chief I hear he has the support of the men and has brought the Dept out of the dark ages !!

Anonymous said...

8:14 You need to get your facts straight. I have friends on the Fire Dept. also and they say Ron Brown is not the Chief. They also tell me that Matt Juliot's (correct spelling) golf game has gotten a lot better the past 4 year's since that's where he spends most of his time, when he should be working. If Juliot is that great of a Chief, why hasn't he fixed that Ambulance problem on the Fire Dept? Brought men out of the dark ages my A$$!!!!!

Anonymous said...

849!! I talk with my friends on the fire Dept they say Juliott has worked on the amb. Problem, his has tried to fix it but it's been a problem that the council needs to fix that it's a problem that's been there for years and it's out of the fire Chiefs control !! As for his golf game I hear that he has been a gifted golfer for years and that he dose'nt take weeks off work like all the other lazy firemen and can only take a day off here and there with his busy schedule!! So you are going to say that's all he has done for the past four years? I think his recored of achievements In the past four years should say that he is brought the fir Dept out of the dark ages!!! At least he isn't driving around drunk in a city owned car or abusing people!!! U think the fire dept has enghough past on that!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

I'm upset that anyone would take a cheap shot at Chief Juliot(correct spelling) he has been the best thing to happen for the City's Fire Department in the past 20 years!! I personally know him and his family and the fact that someone would imply that all he has done for four years is play golf is upsetting!! I know for a fact that he hasn't been on more than two vacations for a week in the past two years, so if he chooses to play golf a day here and there that he isn't neglecting his duty as chief! he has the right to the time off as anyone else. Also I'm a member at the same club as him, I play almost 7 days a week and I see him playing mostly on weekends with hisFather, rarely do I see him during work hours and I'm sure if it is that he has taken a well deserved day off!!!

Anonymous said...

1017. I agree with you!! I only hear good things about Chief Juliot !! The past Fire Department leadership doesn't have a great track record from what I hear. The only negatives is that a guy likes golf? Sounds like some people are grasping at thin air to try to knock him out of his position. I hope Jeff keeps him!!!

Anonymous said...

1048 I agree!!

Anonymous said...

849!! The city should get out of the ambulance business !! There is no money to be made running a 911 based service. If the city wants to provide a ambulance service there are companys that will do it at no cost to the taxpayers!!! We as taxpayers pay for Fire service which we love our fire dept!!!! If the ambulance cost money and there are problems that are unfixable IE: "STAFF" get out of the ambulance business !!

Anonymous said...

Looonnngg ongoing problem, huh?

If Ted Fulmore was fired can someone tell us why - he was in charge of trying to "fix" Linden Meadows again.

Anonymous said...

Definitely love the fire department. Chief Juliot has done a fabulous job. Don't know him personally, but he has. The NAFD seems to be well run and I have no objection to Juliot as Chief.

Have no idea about the police. It's my personal opinion that Chief Bailey has done a helluva job here in town, but I've heard the police don't like him and that he's a bit of a holy terror. It's hard for me to imagine that, but that's the only negative I've ever heard.

I do get sick and tired of negative crap on here. It gets old.

What IS going on with Linden Meadows? Is it going to become a park? I read that somewhere, I think.

Anonymous said...

Ce comportement est honteux.

Anonymous said...

I don't know him well but I agree Bailey has done a good job. I hear from my friends in the force that they mainly like what he is doing. The ones who gripe don't like doing their jobs. Knight is one who doesn't like to work, sad.

Anonymous said...

Bailey is doing a very good job. He seems kind of touchy feely but I like what he's done in town.

Anonymous said...

I love you.

Anonymous said...

New Albany will be featured on HGTV House Hunters tonight with Paul Kriger. I hope they dont mention anything about kitchen tables in the house.

Anonymous said...

Courier Journal says Bailey is out, Knight ad new chief.

Anonymous said...

Knight worked for Stumler then supported Messer. Strange people make strange bed fellows too.

Anonymous said...

Another England appointee. Way to go Jeff.

Anonymous said...

Wrong-she went door to door for gahan. She came ot my house.

Anonymous said...

Wasn't SHERRI KNIGHT with the K-9 unit many years ago?

Anonymous said...

She walked for all of them. With those odds its hard to go wrong.

Anonymous said...

Bailey lost his job because he supported Stumler in the primary. Knight supported Stumler too. So what the hell is she doing Police Chief? She moved up the ranks pretty fast wonder how?

Anonymous said...

This whole new administration smells.

Anonymous said...

Or, it could be that you have no idea what qualifications these individuals have, weren't there for the interviews, and didn't research the candidates' references, and are simply being petty like usual on here. Even if you end up being right, your negativity on here makes it hard for the rest of us to take you seriously. Eating Jeff alive. I knew it.

Anonymous said...

Roger, I wouldn't call the comments on here "eating Jeff alive." You sure are a wuss.

Anonymous said...

Appointments Greg the assistant chief is a republican!
The major Keith Whitlow is a republican!
Maybe Gahan has switched parties?

Anonymous said...

I really enjoy reading my two favorite blogs, Kitchen Table and Freedom Of Speech. Thank you both and a Merry Christmas to all involved.

Anonymous said...

Not sure who will last longer Knight or Stan. Well if you watched the news tonight one thing is for sure. She is going to have to get someone else to talk to the press. Wow. What was she wearing? Not very professional!

Anonymous said...

Bring back Todd!

Anonymous said...

wrong---knight refused to support stumler and caught some crap for it. refused to put a sign out for him

Anonymous said...

Wow! Santa found my house. I got a new BMW an I am not talking about a bicylce either.
Love you my little sweetie pie.

Merry Christmas

My goodness! Roger has put a fascinating picture on his blog - a fleet of toilets in front of the city-county building. Is this a secret call for help from the potty police?

Considering his blog article is about the 'coffee table' book about New Albany being made for the city’s 2013 anniversary, I guess he is hinting about how much actual 'truth' about New Albany Mr. Crutchfield will put in it and wondering what will be said about Mayor England. (What are those connections in Tennessee?) Oh Roger, don't you know politics is in everything in New Albany? What did you expect?

Maybe someone will write a ‘real’ historical book and do some research to find all the 'hidden' facts. It would be a best seller. Some people might buy all the copies just to keep the truth from being exposed!!!

Hey, maybe the potty police need to write their own book – history of sewage treatment in New Albany for 200 years.

What are your thoughts, Roger? Do you have any insider (or outsider) information?
