SHORTFALL?

Shortfall?  How about overspending, malfeasance of office, etc.?   Why can't the City of New Albany live within their Budget?

$30,000.00 needed Monday night for Police overtime?  What, did Harvest Homecoming happen and we missed it?

Why would you hire firefighters when you weren't budgeted to do so and Council did not give their approval?  Or, did Council give their approval when they voted for the annexation?  Is England still maintaining he doesn't have to pay the money to the County for the new fire station on Charlestown Road?

Okay.  We are aware the Horseshoe Foundation paid for backpacks for kids for school last year.  Since when, though, does it become the City's responsibility to shell out $30,000.00 for the Churches to buy backpacks this year?  My kid didn't get a backpack last year - what's up with this?  Isn't there a separation between Church and State?

Is Mayor England afraid if Gahan wins there will be an audit?  Does he think he can stop an Audit if he  gets on the Council?  We are afraid so.

Shortfall?  Yeah, right.  It seems to us we just keep digging that hole deeper.

Doug has requested this on behalf of Backpacks organization. He says there are 2115 students who need to be fed out of backpacks and in conjunction with the school system. According to the school board, ain't true.

There aren't that many kids, number one. Number two, only S Ellen Jones schools is using this service.

It's 35,000 for THREE years. Has nothing to do with the Church's.

Anonymous said...

Sprigler is also asking for free tap-ins, etc., for Kohl's Lane. Why is Council involved in this?

Anonymous said...

Don't worry. School Board is now involved.

Anonymous said...

How about overspending, malfeasance of office, etc.?

Malfeasance implies criminal activity, the kind you go to jail for.

People have asked again and again on this blog and never gotten a good answer. I will ask again.

What proof do you have that a crime has taken place?

Poor record keeping is not a crime by itself. Prove to me that it's more than that.

Anonymous said...

Why the poor record keeping? Why the bad Audits? Bank Reconciliation is one of the easiest computer processes there are.

Why pay good money for a Controller that has been there for X amount of years and now have her daughter employed on contract and still have faulty books?

Do you like throwing good money after bad and not having the proper accounting of TAXPAYERS' money?

Anonymous said...

One computer system after the other has been suppose to have solved our accounting problems, since Overton. Still no accounting.

Anonymous said...

Where I work at the Department Manager would be fired for not adhering to his or her budget. Doesn't seem to be any accountability here in New Albany.

Anonymous said...

I know that when the state rep taked at the exit audit---he was livid about when he needed an answer he was shuffled around from the sewer dept, to the attorney, and other depts he told them that only in new albany does this happen

Another England Scam.

I contacted my school board friend, listen to this one:
Bruce said that Blessing in a Backpack is presently at S.E. Jones and Fairmont, but run by Stan Curtis with Kentucky Harvest. There has to be a sponsor and Horseshoe Foundation is sponsoring these two schools. He (Bruce) said he heard rumors of OTHER private donors wanting to help Green Valley, but didn't have any other info.

Guess what folks? NAFCS has nothing to do with Blessings in a Backback. So get yourself a copy and read what all Doug inplies!!!!!!!!!

Busted again!!!!!!!

1:35 you need to do your homework, all you have to do is type in IC misappropriation of funds and malfeasance. Indiana State Law says it's a felony, jailtime and who ever mismanages tax dollars can be made to pay it back.

Anonymous said...

Great point 5:57.

Anonymous said...

$30,000 buys a helluva lot of school supplies. No need for this sham unless you're operating a criminal enterprise. There are several churches involved in Operation Backpack, enough to more than fill the order. Last year, they had supplies left over. Whole backpacks full of supplies left over.

Doug England is doing whatever he's doing right in front of our faces and we're powerless to do anything about it, people, unless we find some absolute proof. And looking at financials isn't going to do it. They shuffle the money around too cleverly as that state official found to his frustration.

Anonymous said...

'Kay, y'all need to remove the tin foil hats and step away from the over-large fantasy conspiracy windows.

Blessings in a Backpack feeds hungry kids (free and reduced lunch federal program) on the weekends during the school year, which the gubmint dont du. The kids have their backpacks filled with donated foodstuffs on Friday and they have enough to eat each weekend during the school year. ALL eligible NAFCCSC kids are in the program.

Price voted agin it. You go, Stevie.

Anonymous said...

Stevie for Mayor.

Anonymous said...

Indiana Code is clear that malfeasance is a crime. Sloppy bookkeeping by itself it not a crime. I still don't see (and you still have no proven at all) that the mayor has committed malfeasance.

Anonymous said...

show me where the IC uses the words "who ever mismanages tax dollars."

i know you really, really, really want to beleive that the state board of accounts point to criminal activity. unfortunately for you those words just are not there.

both the indiana code and the audits are online. show me. cut and past the langauge or link. show me where the audit says "X" happened, and the indiana code says "X" is a crime. if it's so clear, why can't you show us. i looked. i don't see it. that's because it's not there.

so please try again. and when i say try again, i mean try to make a valid point. i don't mean try again at your slander, your rumors or your lies.

Anonymous said...

Give me an audit to the tune of about 3.5 million.

Anonymous said...

How about 3.9 million and counting?

Anonymous said...

Maybe if Rog would stop running his mouth he wouldn't be losing so much business. Including the Art Council.

I didn't think anyone would reply. This is a slander blog, not a facts blog.

12:57 we got the IC Code, now do your homework and find it yourself you lazy bum!

Anonymous said...

@6:00. that's what i thought you'd say. you can't find it so you call me a silly name to hide that fact.

S&P removed for the first time the triple-A rating the U.S. has held for 70 years, saying the budget deal recently brokered in Washington didn't do enough to address the gloomy long-term picture for America's finances.

Obama said he wanted a bigger agreement. But what did the Republicans push for? That Mitch. Now our payments on the national debt will be higher. Thanks Tea Party. (sarcasm extreme)

Anonymous said...

I blame OBUMER for this S&P mess. The guy has NO clue what he's doing.

Anonymous said...

Prove this, prove that, hey you morons all you have4 to do is read the last audit. It gives the IC Codes and violations.

Anonymous said...

@5:54 it doesn't say crimes.

Anonymous said...

I just love when people can't even spell their overused and unoriginal witticisms correctly.

Anonymous said...

It's time to vote them all out of office including Jack the racists.

Anonymous said...

Gahan had a great turnout this evening. I can't understand why Shane and Carl were there when they cut a deal with Jack the racist.

Anonymous said...

They were there to pretend to be friends, of course, because they know Gahan's going to be the next mayor!

Anonymous said...

Yes, let's be sure to make up stories about which candidate for mayor is actually Doug England's candidate.

Anonymous said...

All England cares about is getting his healthcare and jobs for Carl and Shane Gibson.

Another lie printed by the News and Tribune: we collected $888K on sewer liens.

Come on Doug your getting to be such a liar!

Anonymous said...

That came right from the horsesass mouth.

Anonymous said...

Shortfall my ass, England is robbing us blind. England stuck his fancy loafers directly in his mouth over sewer liens.

To all you so called progressives living off the bosom of us little people. It appears the glory of your free ride is about to end. Your going to have to get a real job and contribute your share.

Yeah, the gloves are off between the little people and the progressives. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see who's going to lose.

Good thing, 'cause where's the lil' people going to find a rocket scientist?

Anonymous said...

little people don't believe in science, rock or otherwise.

Anonymous said...

8:04 Little people dont believe in those who have rocks as brains. They do believe that elected officials should obey laws including those concerning adopted budgets and not using the office for their personal gain.

Anonymous said...

Most progressives have shit for brains.

Everything is about them and what it will cost the little people of New Albany.

Anonymous said...

Amen, to that statement.

Anonymous said...

Would someone explain how come they pave streets then go an dig them up? No wonder the front end of my car is hard to steer.

Anonymous said...

Fed up said, that the progressives were goin to have to get a job and pay their fair share.

Last I knew the Little People were the ones complaining about the sewer price going up. No new Taxes, No new fees.

Maybe the little people need to get Big People grown up jobs.

I was told Lee Miller will be named Messer's new Police Chief. He was arrested for DWI when Garner was in office. He also refuses to retire because he doesn't want to have to give up half of his police pension.

Poor guy, that's what happens when you screw around on your wife of 30 years. She gets half your pension.

Anonymous said...

9:40, It was us little people who paid for your sidewalk and patio area.
So shut the **** up, loser.

Anonymous said...

So do big people not pay taxes?

Anonymous said...

Not in this town, they don't!

Anonymous said...

Sgt. Charles Lee Miller was pulled over by a New Albany police officer on Wednesday evening (2005) near the intersection of Corydon Ridge Road and Ind. 111 South. He tested a .17 blood alcohol level it was a cut and dried Class A misdemeanor.

Well, I haven't visited here in a LONG time. Not much is going on. Not here and not anywhere. Just the same old crap. I don't think anyone has any idea how to make New Albany a better place.

Anonymous said...

OK, Witchipoo, so Dave Matthews is an idiot. That doesn't mean the Tribune hasn't turned into a liberal rag. Matthews is silly, but he's right. No pun intended.

So, what's your point?

Anonymous said...

Miller was also arrested (DWI) when Garner was mayor too. He lost his rank as Sergeant he only got a slap on the wrist.

Anonymous said...

Wasn't the blog administrator arrested for having pounds and pounds of pot in her basement?

Anonymous said...

Whatever, Fluffinstuff. Whatever.

Anonymous said...

And Gee how serious an accident did messer have in his car with a pedestrian involved?????????

Anonymous said...

From my understanding he hit a senior citizen cross the street and killed her.

Anonymous said...

What you all need to be discussing is how Jack Messer's daughter was moved to the top of the list for a low cost loan through redevelopment. Ask Jack how he got the funds for his apartment house and repairs next to the B&B.
There's a lot out there you just got to look for it on 'WE BACK JACK.'

suddeath wrote article saying "residents" questioning bumpouts on state street.

how many residentS did he quote? one?

i looked up the guy who suddeath quoted. he lives nowhere near state street. per auditors records, the dude lives by community park.

why didn't suddeath talk to the people who actually live along state street instead of just people who see it only as a place to drive through?

Anonymous said...

Because Suddeath is another moron. He has no idea how to collect news. He does a half job at the best. Why don't we get some real journalists at the Tribune?

Oh, I forgot, there aren't any real journalists any more. Just guys who write whatever they want.

Maybe Suddeath should start a blog instead?

Nah.

Anonymous said...

Ain't that the truth 9:27. The News &Tribune only prints what England wants them to print. How come they never print England mismanaged our money instead of calling it a shortfall? More and more people are not renewing the paper. The only way you learn anything is to attend council meetings and read certain blogs in New Albany.
BTW, looks like Erik on FOS hit the nail right on the head. Check out todays News & Tribune over the 911 deal.

Anonymous said...

Ha, yeah that "sweetheart deal" she wrote about. So sweet, the workers are threatening to file federal charges over it...haha, keep reading your biased blog, let me know how that works out.

Anonymous said...

breakem up and consolidate. thats the problem with these city's unions, they are so much of the problems and unwilling to become part of the solution. letem threaten their federal bs charges. dissolve them and make them all interview to be rehired under the consolidation. times have change and it is well past time for new albany to change.

Fed Up said...

I sat in on the Council meeting last night. Everything written on FOS is true. Besides read todays newspaper, it's great knowing we have a blog that can print the facts and details. I'm with you 11:18 screw them unions they are all pricing themselves out of a job.
Let them eat cake!

Anonymous said...

Sounds just like Doug Antoinette. Didn't he say 'turn your cable off and pay your sewer bill?
Maybe Marie is related to Doug (England) Antoinette.

ROFLMAO

Anonymous said...

Read that FOS blog. It's good that someone gets the information out to us. How else would we find out? Certainly not the Tribune. I don't think they print what England tells them to, but I do think they print what they want according to their liberal agenda. Just ask Dave Matthews.

Anonymous said...

I am amazed at the stupidity here. Apparently, the little people remain so beccause of lack of intellect, lack of convictions, and a persistent belief that all of their problems are someone else's fault. The tragic thing is that these little people will never, ever do anything but complain and backstab, and trash people on anonymous blogs but they act syrupy sweet to their faces upon passing in New Albany. Good luck with that, little people.

Anonymous said...

9:44 "they act syrupy sweet to their faces upon passing in New Albany."
I think that is what a politician (eg. Mayor England) does.

Anonymous said...

9:44 said like a true loser yourself.

What's that? Second year that Roger can't afford to go to Europe. Poor baby, get a real job like the rest of us and you can travel Europe at least twice a year like we do.

Jackie

Anonymous said...

That's a good one, Jackie. Kissing the mayor ass only get's you in deep doo - doo. He has ran many a business down and destroyed peoples lives. Maybe the little people are smarter than what Roger and the snobs on Main Street think they are.
When is your next trip to Europe?

Anonymous said...

Yes. The little people are definitely smarter than those blogger bums who need to get jobs like the rest of us.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for asking 6:18. We are going back to Europe in Nov. We work hard all year to save for our yearly trip.

Anonymous said...

Well, that's refreshing. Some people work hard all year, and some people live off either their wives or the public and spend all that free time looking for nasty, mean things to say about the rest of us. Maybe one of you hard workers should help them find a job so they have something productive to do. JMHO

Oh, you work....how special. High standards, there. Most of us full time work, some with second part time jobs...and parent, and volunteer, and work part time for a non profit. We can still blog from time to time, too. But, none of that changes the fact that I'd rather never ever be referred to as the helpless 'little people'. Ever. When you can quit blaming all of your little people problems on everyone else, or discuss issues without talking crap about people you don't even know, then I'll actually listen to what you have to say...and, I'm not alone. The rest of the world thinks your littleness is nothing to be proud of, either.

Anonymous said...

Littleness? Do you realize how atupid that sounds? I am one of the 'little people' of New Albany and those are fighting words a@@hole!

Anonymous said...

AMEN, 6:32.

Anonymous said...

Count me in 6:32.

Anonymous said...

Why do you refer to yourselves as the little people then? We aren't talking those of small physical stature.

We are talking about the group of New Albanians here who believe they are helpless, and that everyone is out to get them, and that say that people like Price work for the 'little people', and are for some reason proud of this. Why would anyone not wanting to be a part of that group be fighting words? Many of you have no problems deriding others...what's the matter? Don't like when it's done to you? I've got a good solution for that. Don't do it to others!

Anonymous said...

Just ignore that 12:20 progressive, forgive him father he not knowth what he says.

Finally Roger admits he's a bully. All the attacks against Ed and now his e Amy. I s telling their true agenda. It's bad enough they have milked this city for everything they can get their hands on. Come Jan. it will be a new day with a new mayor (Gahan) who will tell Baylor and the other progressives to go to hell!

Anonymous said...

I don't think progressive means what you think it means...

FOC Friends of Clere's said...

Instead of attacking and the regular bullying of Clere why doesn't Rog question the deal cutting and the missmanagement of Doug England?

Btw, Rog, do you realize everytime you attack Clere and the many others it is costing your business? Looks like even Randy Smith learned that hard lesson.

Anonymous said...

This stuff is hilarious. And boring because Baylor is nothing but a ranting moron. And that nutty sidekick of his is even stupider.

What's up with the lane closure on the Sherman Minton? Obviously, I'm going to have to get going earlier or I'll be late to work. Today my alarm clock disn't work because our electricity went out sometime at night. So I got up too late to head out early and sat and sat and sat. When's this crap going to be done?

Anonymous said...

This sudden explosion of nastiness online is crazy. Hard to keepup with it. Don't even know what some of it's about, but I am laughing my head off at Fluffinstuff. It's just funny. I don't laugh at Witchipoo, though. He's not funny. I agree with 5:51. He's just stupid.

Anonymous said...

@ 4:59. Who and what are you talking about? Fluffinstuff and Witchipoo? Who's that?

Anonymous said...

They're the self proclaimed little people of New Albany's big old boogie men, and the little people would rather go down in their pathetic little boats and be wrong than admit that these guys may be right.

Anonymous said...

No, they're not. They're the Captain of the SS Toxicity and his Gilligan. And one thing they're not is right. ROFLMFAO

Anonymous said...

That's for sure, 7:49. They are not right. They are not right and they are not even reasonable thinkers. All they want to do is get on and say things that we all have to agree with and then make us all agree with them or they start making fun of us. That's all they ever do and that's all they do with everyone. I think its a fair thing to call Baylor the Captain of the SS Toxicity, but Gillenwater is not like Gilligan aat all. He is still Whitchipoo. All he does is hope around and look grouchy and say the meanest things he can. It's stupid and it reminds me of high school stuff the way they get hopping mad about everything and start accusing people of things. I think I'm going to stay in my little lifeboat and will not go down with the sinking ship of the swill master and his flunkies.

Anonymous said...

Hook your line to my boat we're going to put them all out of business and rub the snobs off of Main and Spring show then the 'little people' have only begin to fight.

Anonymous said...

Awww, that's so cute! You want your town's businesses to fail, all to spite someone that you just don't like. I can see why New Albany is nothing but a backwards has been town full of ignoramuses. Best of luck with your failure.

Anonymous said...

Well, actually, YOU want your town's businesses to fail with your stupid hatred of bridges. You ignoramuses want failure and have no confidence in your own businesses on acoount of you don't think your business can atttract people from Louisville no matter what. Ignoramuses are on both sides, moron.

Anonymous said...

Who hates bridges? I can't wait for them to build the East end bridge. As for the rest? I'm not from here, so I find your consistently myopic views to be ridiculous. Throwing little hissy fits and wishing your downtown businesses would close simply because poor little you doesn't like their owners is juvenile at best, and yet that mindset is so classic of New Albany. And I'm the moron?

Anonymous said...

Yep, 11:22, you are the moron!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

I don't think most of us wish any downtown businesses would close "simply because poor little" people don't "like their owners." We hop you close because your attitudes are destructive to New Albany and you spend not only YOUR time destroying the goodwill that would make New Albany a great place to live and work, but you also foster an environment of toxicity that makes all the rest of us waste time on you. I don't hate you, and I don't think most people hate you. But, we all wish you would use this energy for something GOOD and not always so many things BAD. Think about it.

Anonymous said...
