SEVERAL DIFFERENT ISSUES PERCOLATING IN NEW ALBANY

We decided to talk about several issues that have come up in the past couple of weeks.

Rental Registration...What the hey is rental registration? The County Auditor can tell you which houses are rental properties (said so in the paper once people complete their homestead exemption papers). Township Assessor has a computer where you type in the address and up comes the owners of any and all properties you may be interested in. So why the bull crap? It's not like it's called rental inspection, huh? Isn't that what everyone was clamoring for? It's just another layer of government for England, more people to hire and more money from taxpayers. But, maybe those progressive type peoples don't understand the difference, who knows? That's right. We're stupid.

Benedetti claiming the past due sewer bills can't be seen by the public nor the Council. Who is she kidding? Councilman Schmidt and Darlene McCoy (use to be Treasurer) kept a running tab along with the names and addresses in a shoe box and every month Bill took that shoe box in to the Treasurer and he and her marked off the ones paid. Benedetti said it would be too embarrassing. For who I wonder! These records are public and even we can put our hands on them. I, for one, think they ought to publish them in the paper; but as Wilkinson said you might be surprised at the names on there. Is he kidding, too? When someone does get their hands on them I bet you a dollar they get published on one blog or another.

I hear someone is getting ready to publish all the big tax dodgers on property taxes. Now, that should read as a who who. I hope they go for it. We all know how bad Doug needs the revenue.

All of the people who have been slamming Price and I'll be durned if the Council is actually agreeing with him now. Are the SOB's who have been slamming him for the worry he's had about the finances going to SLAM the whole Council now?

Remember how some people got upset (me included) for them using the Fire Department to hang the Christmas lights downtown on PRIVATE BUSINESSES? They really thought we had something against the Fire Department. No, we knew the Fire Department DIDN'T HAVE THE GAS MONEY NOR THE PAYROLL FOR THE FIREFIGHTERS to be able to do this. Guess we were right. Those big ladder trucks they have to keep the engine going to get that ladder up that high (and you see how much gasoline they are over on). Don't you think DNA should have paid for this service? Can we bill DNA now?

Now that the Windsor has shut, Connor's Fish shop shut, other places that couldn't succeed, what do you think is up with that? Someone said New Albanians just aren't willing to support down town businesses. Yeah, right. Word on the street is Studios is next. They stopped making payroll and if you want to work there you have to work for tips only. Think they are next? I do.

The chickens are coming home to roost and they sure are going to crap on a lot of people. Some deserve it, some don't.

Another word on the street is John Mattingly is going to pay for a poll, or survey, to see if Doug can get re-elected. If he can't, guess who they are going to throw up for Mayor? Carl. Can you imagine? He's a worse nightmare than England and that's saying a mouthful.

Anything you all would like to add? Feel free.

I've really enjoyed these Tales from Up Top the Grow Room. Please keep writing.

I suggest everyone read FOS tomorrow it might start getting interesting when this bomb of (information) is dropped on the powers that be.

If I had not received a scan copy I wouldn't of believed it either.

The chickens have came home to roost on Doug England and it's about time.

FYI we have talked with Y. She has no computer, she is trying to move and she is busy with her community service. She asked me to tell you she is pleased you still think of her.

We miss her and some of her great insight.

Anonymous said...

Why don't you tell them Y switched sides and is now supporting England? I heard that and couldn't believe it but evidently it's true.

I found the Freedom of Speech article you mentioned.

IT'S OFFICIAL...
By One voice

Former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton, the secretary of state released this statement:

"Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and close friends. We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family. On behalf of the newlyweds, we want to give special thanks to the people of Rhienbeck for welcoming us and to everyone for their wishes on this special day."

Where is this township assessors office that you speak of?

Anonymous said...

Basement. It's not township this office is now over the city and county.

I checked out FOS's article and their facts, went down there myself. It's true. Pulled some other addresses up and went into shock. Fair assessments my but.

Anonymous said...

There should be a full investigation and taxpayers should refuse to pay their tax bills until we get answers from Mayor England.

I heard England is part owner too. Can this be confirmed?

Anonymous said...

Want to play a game? I know of some pretty nasty "rental houses" that are registered at the assessors office, but the name on the deed is NOT who owns the house, many are buried under LLC's, names of deceased family members and so on.

Anonymous said...

Why isn't the Tribune investigating this information? The city needs a full time CPA and a Chief Financial Officer. I am afraid we are stuck with the four stooges running our city and all of us into the poor house.

Anonymous said...

One of the top renters also has a contract with the city and also is near the top in unpaid sewer bills. Remember when overton was in--it was jesse ballew. It is about the same now.

I heard studios changed ownership a few months ago---just what I heard--john mattingly.

It is true that the records are public record and should be printed.

Anonymous said...

Would someone explain how this all happens? Why should I pay my property taxes and our bills, when others don't?

What is England afraid of?

Anonymous said...

There is a lady in town who was involved with Third Century. She recognized it was a scam and sued to get out of it. She can't talk because of a confidentiality clause to keep her mouth shut.

Those LLC's are a bitch, mon. The two guys in on it are the same ones who were in the paper with England touting they will be building those condos. One of them is a felon from California for running the same real estate scam -- it's called a PYRAMID SCHEME.

If you could just pull one card out of that pile all of it would come crashing down. This is from a real estate execute speaking here and I know what's going on with the boys and Doug.

Keep on plugging. Maybe you all can get this crap cleaned up. It's a shame the scam involves the most valuable real estate on Main Street.

Anonymous said...

make that a real estate executive. computers get the best of me, sorry.

Keep up the good work.

We, as citizens, demand a full investigation by our city council into the matter on Main Street Property Taxes. I also found several properties under accessed. For example 620 E, Main Street, parcel number 22-05-00-200-774.000-008. How can they be paying $567.52? The assessor was out and as a taxpayer I would like some answers not from other ill-informed lazy lying officials.

Anonymous said...

Why don't we just recall this mayor. Can you imagine what his checkbook looks like? I'm no fan of Doug England's, at all, and I can think of plenty of Democrats and Republicans who would do a better job. Who knows what is going on with this bunch downtown? But for the love of God, if he's running again, vote him out. These back room deals are really making me sick!

Anonymous said...

It seems to me if they don't want to tie up EDIT money, then DON'T.

Is this a a great city, or what?

LMAO

Anonymous said...

Has anyone noticed how Coffey has rolled over and backed the mayor the past three weeks on votes. THAT IS BECAUSE ENGLAND HAS THEATENED TO RUN HIS WIFE SHELLI AGAINST HIM IN THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY. FACT.

NOW HE HAS THE LAPDOGS--CAESAR AND GONDER-MESSER BECAUSE OF HIS TROUBLES-ZURCHMEIDE, BECAUSE HE WANTS PART OF THE SEJ CONTRACT-WITH COFFEY IN THE FOLD HE HAS HIS FIVE VOTES AGAIN FOR ANYTHING, WITH BENEDETTI IN RESERVE.

Rental property is not eligible for Homestead exemption so slumlords won't be filling out any paperwork.

You might want to head on down to the basement and check where that smell is coming from. I think it's affecting your thinking.

Anonymous said...

WHO SAID RENTAL PROPERTY WAS ELIGIBLE FOR HOMESTEAD EXEMPTIONS? BAD READING COMPREHENSION.

Anonymous said...

"The County Auditor can tell you which houses are rental properties (said so in the paper once people complete their homestead exemption papers). Township Assessor has a computer"

Township assessor hasn't had a computer or an office or a job in over a year and a half

Your words

Anonymous said...

And, that was corrected in another statement on 8/2 10:44. NEXT? Got something to hide?

Anonymous said...

Those 50 some drugbusts are really turning out to be doozies. I am hearing an elected official is in the middle of it where someone rolled and they are singing their hearts out. Wonder who they rolled on in the process? Tribune SHOULD have field day with this one. Keith is liable to be prosecutor for life on this one.

Anonymous said...

If I was her I think I'd have to enter the witness protection program. She has been part and parcel and of the crookedness downtown and did a damn fine job of screwing a lot of people.

It's not like she needed the money, but prescription drugs like oxycodene, stolen property, gee, wouldn't you like to have that job?

This is why we always said look at the back of your property card and you would find out if you were an a, b or c based on your voting record. They have already gotten one out of the Clerk's office I guess she's singing too.

Who would have guessed? She is rolling on some mighty big people who have everything to lose so I wouldn't be surprised at anything that might happen now.

As far as I'm concerned maybe this will be what pulls that one card out of the deck and the rest of the crooks will fall. Even her husband is involved, stolen property you know.

Every dog has his day. I do feel this would have been swept under the rug if the Louisville Drug Task Force hadn't been involved. Will wonders never cease?!

And for the property mentioned who had all the renovations done and taxes stayed low she wouldn't allow Sillings nor Banet in her house. People like that just jack their taxes up and when they protest tell them to let them in to see if they're wrong. That's how you deal with the people who don't want to pay their share for their community they brag so much about.

Anonymous said...

Amen to that one.

READING, Pa. – Property owners neglecting their homes in one eastern Pennsylvania city are getting an online shaming.

Reading (RED-ing') Mayor Tom McMahon on Monday announced a new online "Wall of Shame" featuring blighted properties.

McMahon says the property owners' names will be posted along with pictures and addresses. He says he's serving notice to property owners who fail to take action on eyesore properties.

Ten properties are already facing designation as blighted, which could lead to them being torn down. Fifty other properties are listed on the site, and McMahon says they're being targeted for blighted status by the city.

Anonymous said...

That was good reading. We should do the same on blighted properties, free flushers on the sewer and people not paying their property taxes. Good reading.

But, Benedetti said it isn't any of our business, might embarrass someone. What a joke.

Anonymous said...

Who owns the property at 620 E. Main Street? Is that the Box Tree Inn?
Thanks

Anonymous said...

Box Tree Inn is 612 E Main.

Anonymous said...

Studios shutting August 21st. Big bash.

Anonymous said...

Carl M. is wanting to purchase Al Goodman's property. How deep is England's pockets?

Anonymous said...

Did you see where the State is cutting the EDIT by 18% next year? Woe is us.

Anonymous said...

18% you've got to be kidding? So what is England going to do now?

Anonymous said...

Which city council member has the most arrears in sewer and taxes. Clue--it is not price.

So much for funding police and fire with edit. The mayor has the cash anyway.

Anonymous said...

I know the answer I know the answer - Zurschmiede. LOL! What's the prize?

Anonymous said...

The Prize is:

You don't have to pay your sewer bill for 6 months and 12 free pints at the brewhouse compliments of our famous beer owner 'Roger' Baylor.

Your a lucky person!

Saw that tweet on twitter with Mark Cassidy (IAMHOOSIER) talking about the trogs spreading rumors about Studios.

Well it wasn't a rumor and IAMHOOSIER needs to get down off of his high horse and stop calling people names. Very telling of his character, if he has one. Can't you ply him with some more of the brew so he can't open his uninformed mouth which accompanies his pea sized brain? And people wonder why people in this town can't get along.

Anonymous said...

When do you think it's going to break about our prescription druggie who works at the court house? Or is she still singing her heart out about everything she knows? I can hear her now, she's too unstable to go to prison. But, not to have wanted to run for a city office. Weiners boy, we have weiners!

Anonymous said...

" Can't you ply him with some more of the brew so he can't open his uninformed mouth which accompanies his pea sized brain?"

You say that and then follow up it up with a question about why people can't get along...are you a moron?

Anonymous said...

It's interesting to me that we have yet another slimy blog where the 'leader' hides his/her identity. Maybe it's because you know that spewing out all this crap makes you sound like an uneducated fool and you don't want people to know who you are?

Anonymous said...

An uneducated fool? The chickens are coming home to roost in New Albany and the little people are going to crap on a lot of people.

Anonymous said...

Sounds like the truth hurts, huh?

Anonymous said...

11:01

Woo-hoo! Score another one for the bullies.

Anonymous said...

Iamhoosier called you a pea brain.

Too funny.

Anonymous said...

Those rope suckers need to pay there fair share.

Iamhoosier said...

Please learn how to "read" Twitter. The two comments were made TO me, not written by me.

This is me--You, sir/madam are an idiot. Or a liar. Or both.

Mark

Anonymous said...

Some of these idiots just need to learn how to read...or think...I don't know which is more important in their cases.

Anonymous said...

So it was your buddy calling other citizens troglydytes and not knowing what they were talking about? Did you set them straight about Studios was shutting down?

Iamhoosier said...

So, no apology for falsely accusing me. No acknowledgement of error. I think my character stands up very well in comparison. And, to boot, I sign my name to my comments and accusations and accept the consequences.
