YMCA

Do you feel the County may get sick of the City and stop paying their share of the Y?  If they did or do, our property taxes will go up....

  1. The Y , don't worry Joe Larocca won't say anything, he is going to run the new swimming pool. Which will be down town servicing Portland .

  2. The godfather Joe made gahan an offer he couldn't refuse.

  3. Roudenbush and Baylor at it again. Dennis some one needs to be honest with you, the election is not going to go your way. The democrats from your own party are not even voting for you. In Rogers article he talks about Bush voting on law enforcement . Bush does not vote for the entity that he works for. Bush votes on county issues not city where he is employed. Gahan you tried taking Bush down but busting him down as detective. The only person you busted down was yourself. Remember that !

Yep Good old Cheri Knight busted 5 out of the 6 detectives. Am i missing something here. I thought the YMCA was the Young Mens Catholic Association. Why are the city and county funding the YMCA if it's true. I thought monthly dues were how the Y stayed open. That is major BS if the city and county are paying a share to keep it open. What ever happened to separation of church and state?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Chief Knight does not make any decision unless told to by the Mayor, Mr.Gahan.

    ReplyDelete
  6. 9:54 you are so right. Gahan is truly the first female chief...and doing a terrible job. Crime in my neighborhood is way up.

  9. Right, because we need some conservative Christian Right wing nut job for county council, which is exactly what Steve Bush has been and will be. I'll take my chances on Roudenbush any day over that sanctimonious self serving punk, thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  10. You all are really such idiots that whoever you like, I won't vote for...and if you like them, they are no one I want serving me. Seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Again, Dennis Roudenbush is on thin ice already w/ misappropriation of trustee funds for his family member for an unapproved item he later hid. He is so crooked, but look at who his uncle was.

Steve Bush?? Sanctimonious? I have not seen that side of him, I do know he is really honest. And believe me, I am not towing the GOP line in the commissioners race...people need to stay away from Dave Matthews. He and his wife are indeed pious "Christians" who are real liars..Vote Bush and Frieberger

    ReplyDelete
  12. Sorry to tell you but Rowdy Roudenbush is going down.

    ReplyDelete
  13. if anybody can save YMCA it's that defender of young men Phipps! He loves the YMCA and all that implies that's where he goes when he gets in a hissy fit with Greg lol

    ReplyDelete
  14. In the race between Bush and Roudenbush, let's just hold our noses and pick one. Neither one is a good choice.

    ReplyDelete
  15. The County can walk away from the YMCA contract at anytime and claim they don't have the funds then the NA taxpayers are screwed.

    ReplyDelete
  16. The county isn't going to walk away. Quit announcing that the sky is falling.

  17. P.S. Thanks for reading all our comments, Roger. You fall into our trap when you make up ridiculous cartoons and photos about us.

    Pppppffffft.

  19. Since we now know that rog reads this blog I challenge him to try to be fair (ha) and 'report' on all the illegal signage placement some dems. ('dr.knable' ie, Leslie Matthewson), carol shope, don sakel to name a few are partaking in. He sure calls out Clere enough when his placements offend his delicate sensitivities.

    ReplyDelete
  20. What happened with the oversized Clere sign in Clarksville? Did he end up taking it down or is he just going to keep super sized up and pay the fine?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Ed Clere left the signage up in Clarksville because they is no ordinance prohibiting the sign.

He was strong armed and lied to by Democratic Clarksville politicians who told him to take them down.

Ed knows his stuff and I was glad to early vote for him again

    ReplyDelete
  22. 9:25pm he's got my vote too.

    Re-elect Ed Clere

    ReplyDelete
  23. How about Bush abd Burke signs too? Steve Burke is so lazy he only goes to Advisory Board meetings to get his check and misses all the other ones. And you want this type of guy on the County Council?

    Not me.

    ReplyDelete
  24. What if i created a blog with the same name as other blog accidentally? is that legal?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I watched Burke's segment on WNAS and was not impressed. For a guy who speaks for a living one would think he would make more sense. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he's lost every race he's been a candidate. The reason is he is not qualified...please stop running. We just can't summon the best candidates to run for any of our elected positions. I don't blame people for refusing to jump on the train wreck local politics is. Brad Striegle is the only qualified person running for the Country Council. Steve Bush is the only qualified person running for Commissioner. Want some quality entertainment? Watch the candidates on WNAS...Shope is my favorite...

    ReplyDelete
  26. Not voting for Clere. If he is too arrogant to cooperate about his super plus sized sign, then he is too arrogant to serve.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yes, Burks is a wanna-be who indeed is doing a bad job on the Township Advisory Board and was told by Jeannie Frieberger that if he didn't start coming to more meetings, he was going to be canned...he thinks he will be the first Pastor-Mayor of New Albany someday. Give me a break...keep your day job, Stevie

    ReplyDelete
  28. Clere is right about that sign. There's nothing saying you can't have a 4 by 8 sign and it looks to me like the Clark Demos are just trying to bully him. In fact, I can say that for sure they are. That's what we do better than you do in Floyd is bully people. I can't vote for Clere. Wish I could but I also like our state rep. Stemler. Both of these guys make southern Indiana look like we got our act together (which we don't.)

    ReplyDelete
  29. What has Burks ever done except runfor office? For the goverment I mean. Why does he think he can be good if he can't? Ineed to look up more about him. I don't know anyting to tell the truth.

  30. Have you seen Coffey getting his white envelopes?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Coffey we our on your trail!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Mickey Thompson holding up the planters. Looks like Gahan has him by the balls. Oh wait a minute I am sure he takes care of Gahan like john Mattingly taught him. Mickey your the one doing envelopes for these people aren't you?
The shooters come to you and you deliver, what's your cut. Coffey almost told me.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Remember the money found in the trash can at Doug's house.

    ReplyDelete
  34. save the Y, we need The Village People, come on Phipps get your band together

    ReplyDelete
  35. Phipps is silly. He's nothing more than a hothead "progressive" who is really all about regressive goverment. I doubt he runs again because he can't stand the heat. So why do you people keep talking about him. he's nobody.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I don't know this Phipps guy or any of the other people you talk about on here. Not personally, anyway. But don't you people ever get tired of slamming everyone and everything? Your little gay jokes are childish, and your accusations about stealing money need to be told to the police with whatever evidence you have and then let them deal with it. Insinuations are nonsense.

    JMHO

  37. Hey Stan tomorrow's Thursday will I see you getting a Jump start on your Christmas shopping at Koerber's before anyone sees you this time.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  39. Their a bunch of crooks.

    ReplyDelete
  40. 7:50...They're a bunch of crooks. Moron!

  41. Baylor, your Obama loving crap don't belong on the internet. He has made a ruin of our country and makes it a failure to the whole world. You couldn't get elected and he won't get reelected. The last laugh will be on you.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Looks like Barry is starting to slip. That's good, because America can't afford four more years of Obummer and his reckless spending.

    ReplyDelete
  43. You heard it here. If Romney wins, you all will be *begging* for Obama back. You've not seen ANYTHING that monster Romney is capable of.

    ReplyDelete
  44. You have clearly been taking some large gulps of the Obama Kool-Aid. I'm not buying it. America will be much better off once Romney takes office. And you heard that here.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Here's the thing I think we'll see: If Obama wins, all of the right wing Christians will weep and gnash their teeth, but it won't even cross their minds to say, "You know...I prayed for God's will...this must have been His will, and I'll trust Him." Y'know, like the last election, when they prayed for McCain, and Obama won? Could it just be that Obama winning IS God's will??? Guess we'll see in a week, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Oh, and conservative persons that post here? Try and come up with some original monikers. Obummer? Yeah, NO ONE has ever heard that one before. That's original. And, the Kool-Aid comment...yup, never heard that one either. COME ON. Show me conservatives know how to be original.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I am conservative. I have never called President Obama anything other than Pres. Obama or Barack Obama. Stop lumping people into categories.

Chances are, the people posting those names are disenfranchised DEMOCRATS.

    Think about this:

Conservative Christians pray for the POTUS. Whether it is Pres. Obama or Pres. Romney doesn't matter. We're praying for the will of God, that the will of God be done in this election.

OK, so let's say that God wills Barack Obama will be the winner. You think Christians are stopping their prayers? Really?

And by the way, it is possible, just possible, that God's answer is that the world will fall into further ruin at this time. In that case, then that's God's will and we have to suck it up. But should we quit? NOT ON YOUR LIFE!

So stop judging Christians, Phipps, Baylor and whichever other of your friends this may be. You all smack down on that, believing with your whole being that you've proven your point. You have not. All we see is that you're anti-Christian and anti-progress. And you don't understand praying that God's will be done. Granted, there are Christians who don't get this either, but at least they are praying. Let them be.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Obama will win because it is the will of Allah.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yell right 1:13 PM. He's out of his league he won't get elected and he knows it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Allah is God, Einstein.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Who cares if the planters are black. Why can't people respect people giving there time with nothing expected back. Oh wait a minute it did not need a deal to be cut in the back room.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Just because they are free, doesn't mean they are good. I agree that they need to see them and determine who will maintain them . Is Jerry Finn going to take care of 80 planters?

    ReplyDelete
  53. There's where you're missing it,12:49. It's not an either/or, even though the conservative Christian worldview would like that to be so.

There are Christians who are indeed Christian that believe very differently from you, that are not Phipps, Baylor, or anyone else you think they are. We are Progressive Christians and you make a mistake to discount us because we don't interpret the Bible and the world in the same way you do.it is not just evangelicals and atheists, though that would make things easier for you to reconcile.

I do not think that all CCs are so damning of others of a different shade of their own faith. But, as a whole, the movement has caused people like me to default to the left, because the right has become so unhinged.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Swinging all the way to the left does not honor God, it honors your own point of view.

You're right that the "right" has become so unhinged. But what percentage of Christians are the unhinged "right?"

I find them pretty non-threatening because the percentage of them is very low, just as the percentage of liberal "left" Christians is low.

There's a problem with either far left or far right. Any time you have groups that trumpet a horn in either direction, you have a problem. There IS a middle ground. We would all do well to find it.

I have no problem "reconciling" a world without "just evangelicals and atheists." Don't be so quick to judge. You might seem like an "evangelical" by doing that.

Which reminds me of something I've always noticed between what you call a "progressive" Christian and the so-called "evangelical" Christians: BOTH SIDES ARE EXTREMELY HARD-HEADED AND JUDGMENTAL.

    Learn to let them be.

    ReplyDelete
  55. That's just Phipps griping. I'd ignore him.

Wanna say on this page too that DR. TONY BENNETT HAS DONE A LOT TO HELP POOR, INNER-CITY KIDS IN INDIANA!!! THANK YOU, DR. BENNETT! INDIANA TEACHERS ARE BACKING YOU ALL THE WAY!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I might add that Indiana teachers are sick and tired of union hawks telling us what we think. I am so sick of the local union and all the crap, LIES, they keep on sending us. Sick of the anti-Bennett stuff. Sick of the passing out of stickers and signs and all the stupid emails. I'm sick of it and it's about to make me vote STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN. Do you hear me? STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN! If you don't stop sending out all the poison, that's exactly what I, and a lot of my friends, are talking about doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Just needed to vent.

    ReplyDelete
  57. all you liberals, got news for ya Indiana is a Romney state

    ReplyDelete
  58. After Mittens bites the dust and the president is re-elected, I'm gonna celebrate by going to the Connection to get my FREAK on! With that wannabe homophobe in chief out of the way, that place is gonna be off the hizzle for shizzle. I can't wait until we have one here in N.A. Toodles!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Obviously none of you have jobs.

    ReplyDelete
  60. 7:48 is my new hero. Serious or silly, you made me laugh.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Why don't you volunteer to help Jerry Finn or do you just want to sit behind your keyboard and be , you know and be...

    ReplyDelete
  62. Some of this discussion is just nonsense. But some of it is interesting. Tell us more about the teachers. I don't know anything about teachers and Tony Bennett.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Obama SuX. He's a loser. As they say in politics the democrats put you in and the democrats take you out. Just ask Cochran if it's not so.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Obama will win, in spite of the ignorant racists in NA.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Not gonna happen, and race has nothing to do with it. You'll see.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Not gonna happen, and race has nothing to do with it. You'll see.

    ReplyDelete
  67. The only way Obama will win is if he commits voter fraud. Sound familiar? That's the only way any democrat wins just ask Dan Coffey.

    ReplyDelete
  68. It's so cute when the little people actually think a proven liar with no basis in reality is going to win the election, and they'll vote for him despite the fact that he's all up in their women's vaginas and has no clue what it is like to live on 60k or less for a family of six. So cute indeed.

    Obama 2012.

    ReplyDelete
  69. What the hell are you talking about 5:30? You think Romney is unworthy because he does not believe an unborn baby should be murdered in the mother's 'vagina'? What an idiot you are. Abortions are legal just morally wrong. And I'm sorry: has Obama ever had a family of 6 who he raised on 60k? Nah, didn't think so. You all forget he is a millionaire also, plus a coward who left 4 brave Americans to die. Oh, but let unborn babies be murdered? Well, that's so cool. I don't know you but loathe you.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Believe me guys New Albany is not going to make or break the presidential election.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Early voted. So easy! Go Romney...

    ReplyDelete
  72. Fork you, Thrasher!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Loathe me? Wow, those same values that would force a 13 year old who was raped to carry a baby sure are loving...

    ReplyDelete
  74. Ever notice when someone defends abortion they always use extreme conditions to do so? If you'd only allow those conditions for abortions, then what? I guess you'd move on to something else considering that rape only makes up less than 5% of abortion totals.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Anonymous people loathing other anonymous people? Say it ain't so.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Extreme, because it hasn't happened to you or anyone you know? That, quite honestly, means nothing.

I get it, you think you know what women go through. Fine. Fact is, we all only know what we go through ourselves.

Yes, the world has sin. Yes, abortion is sin. But sometimes, we have to choose between two sins and leave it up to God and that individual to reconcile.

As long as the 5% of rapes (or whatever percentage) that end in pregnancy happen, abortion MUST remain legal.

If you choose to make a law that restricts except in that case, you're for bigger government, period- and that's hypocritical. You'd have to have panels to decide whether each individual case was abortable or not.

Focus on your own lives and provide comfort and healing to those around you- without judging, because you have no clue- and quit focusing in on what you think is the ultimate sin, when it's all pretty much not cool with God.

    Stay. Out. Of. My. Uterus.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I just want to ask those who oppose abortion something. Have any of you done research to see what went on before abortion was legal? Probably not. Women still got them, but it is not done safely. They are performed behind closed doors and a way from public view. Mothers and babies die! Bricks to the stomach and clothes hanger abortions are two stories I have heard of to say the least.
I would never get an abotion, but you CANNOT STOP ABORTIONS. Women will find a way to get them if they want them. So why not allow them to have it done safely?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Loathing a another human is more humane than murdering one. I will never apologize for my beliefs, or succumb to yours.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Sure, until you, your wife, or your young daughter is raped and pregnant. You have no clue unless it has happened to you. Then- and only then- will I fully accept that that you truly believe this. Until then, the pain you cause by your "beliefs" actually pushes people away from God.

    ReplyDelete
  80. 10:00, I'm sorry have we met, and do you know my story? You know NOTHING.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Exactly. And unless that IS your story, you've no right to judge others for theirs. And you know what? Not even then, because judgement is not your job.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Is killing babies yours? Ah, never mind. That's between you and God.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Yes, it is between me and God. You're getting this now. Except, I sadly know you aren't.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Again, DO YOU KNOW ME? I know you think it is acceptable to kill babies; that's all I need to know.

    ReplyDelete
  85. It's funny always in the same comment you say one thing, then the exact opposite. Of course, when you have no argument to stand on that's what happens. Now, go away. (to 7:00)

    ReplyDelete
  86. I think that the world is an exceptionally painful place sometimes where things do not reside in the pristine halls of white or the pitch black of wrong.

Do you force a tween to have a baby, when they're 10, 11 weeks along because they were raped?

    Is an early induction abortion?

I know it seems so easy in your world to just call someone a baby killer and walk off feeling smug and self satisfied and oh so Christian...but the pain you cause when you refuse compassion really does turn people away from faith. Could your zealous demeanor cause someone's soul to be lost to hell? Think about it. I will pray for you, that you have compassion, love, and allow God to judge the rest of us.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I sure hope it lasts. Others actually confuse the leachate from the worm bin as being the worm tea already. Give Sharry Baby a southern window with morning light, water it once or twice a week, and weekly orchid fertilizer, and people will be trying to steal it, she warns. With Lawns Alive! all natural lawn fertilizers you feed your lawn just twice a year- in spring and early fall! got up early the next day, fertilizer.Spoof like the roommate said have flutter from the branches fall
