WE KNOW THAT!

Can the City outsource our ambulance without getting bids?  How can that be?

Maybe the same way the trees were taken down at the postage stamp size park designated to be the "Bicentennial Park"?  No questions asked, no rules followed, just deforestation.  We would have remembered the outcry when St. Mary's took their trees down to put the steeple up.  This is even worse.

Though, we have to say - we always thought the City owned that postage stamp before we bought it (again).  The only people who could park there had to go through the City.  Harvest Homecoming always used it for a stage area.  Who knows?

We would also like to know why the City went outside the State of Indiana for a history book of our fair City when we have our own historian in town (who has already wrote several books about the subject), namely Gregg Seidl.  What does the guy down in Tennessee know that Gregg doesn't know?

We agree with Coffey - NO INSURANCE for Benedetti, Zurschmeide and Caesar.  WHAT A FRIGGING JOKE.  The ones who have the most always seem to want more, and more, and more...

The concert Friday night in New Albany was/is another joke.  Literally about 30 people attended and for what and for whom?  We are truly (not) sorry a certain individual bar/restaurant is not large enough for his own venues.  Some taxpayers wish to sue in order to stop our money being used for one, ONE, individual benefit.

Oh, well.  A wish list sure to be denied.

  1. Coffey loves drama and stirring the pot. Just keep making us go backwards. The vote on insurance is nothing but political. That's why I can't stand him. He is a disgrace to our city!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  2. Why isn't Coffee insisting on no insurance for the contracted city attorneys also

    ReplyDelete
  3. I attended the so called big hoopla at San's place Sunday just to see who would show up. It was a 'BUST'. Gahan must know he's a 1 termer.

Hey Coffey, do you honestly think the dems will back you when you get arrested?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Why didn't the businesses bitch after loosing all them parking spots?

    ReplyDelete
  5. I am counting days until Dan Coffey is taken off the council.

  6. I have no idea where this blogger got his info but the live at 5 last friday i attended had 76 people on bank street. And the Bank street brewery was packed with no seats avalible. And it was on bank street because roger was the only one who didn't complain about parking for thier business. You atract more bees with honey than you do vinegar. I guess roger didn't complain like the other restaraunt owners did. Sorry for thier luck

  7. The city did take bids for the ambulance service. Rural Metro had the best deal. Do your homework.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Show us the bids for us taxpayers

    ReplyDelete
  9. If that insurance deal is right at 20,000.00 a person the whole city needs to be looked at. Gahan if you negotiated those prices just go on and step down .

    ReplyDelete
  10. You need to ask to see the bids down on the 3rd floor of the city-county building. Rural Metro and Yellow are 2 for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Cut insurance and plant more trees! Oh wait...

    ReplyDelete
  12. Something must be going wrong at live at 5 . They get real defensive about justifying . It did not work out as well as to expected. Use our riverfront a lot more people came there to enjoy. Remember Rogers got that camera going on around his bank street on people having a drink.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Take Gahan to the ethics commission.

    ReplyDelete
  14. It doesn't matter anymore live at 5 is done till next year. So we can talk about something else now.

    ReplyDelete
  19. oh it's the punctuation cop roger "leotard" baylor.

fork you baylor go play with your kiddie friends at freak fest

  20. Attended the council meeting packed house, Gahan got his 85,000.00 for the bicentennial. I want all tax payers to know because I am upset the way Gahan is spending our tax dollars . That's pretty bad our council members cannot get insurance and he spends 1,2 million on a park and tax my parking away from my business. It's tough the people that come in here complain all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Gahan in the council, business all the time it came out last night. Benedetti asked publicly who drafted all the things on the council agenda. Like weasels Robinson and Gibson say well I did.. So mayor when I asked you, you lied. You new exactly the political games that you were about to play.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I know who you are.

    ReplyDelete
  23. 7:35 Why would they show you anything that would save the city money ? You want to see the bids for the ambulance service. It's very simple. There were 2 services that went after the city contract. And they are not going to cost the city a penny to operate. So showing it to the taxpayers holds no merit. Do you understand ?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Does anyone have any info on how the 1st day with rural metro as our ambulance service went ?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I heard the first day with Rural Metro went great, a little busy but nothing new. It's about time the city contracted with someone, running EMS with 1 ambulance for a city of 30,000 plus is a disgrace for taxpayers.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I think I sense some envy in the comments regarding this man in a leotard. Have you, perhaps, seen something that may dwarf the size of yours?

    ReplyDelete
  27. 10:14 1 ambulance ????? That's how many the fire department had. You seem to forget Yellow Ambulance had multiple vehicles parked all around new albany to help out.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Looks like a lot of people are mooching off the public teat in this city. At least the Copperhead questions it. Truth to be told, they ought to pay US all $85,000 for cutting down those beautiful trees for no reason.

    ReplyDelete
  29. You could not count on Yellow EMS. From my understanding from a friend of my friend they had a regular habit of providing longer response times than what a city of this size should expect.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Leave it alone about the whole ambulance thing, the only way to do it right would be to hire firefighters and give it back to the fire department but no one wants to pay for it. It's like you all want to pay a car payment on a Kia but drive a Lexus.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yep I agree 12:59. These people want everything for nothing. And 12:51 I heard from a friend of my friend that there were 2 runs yesterday that took over 25 minutes for an ambulance to arrive. She didn't get into details and i don't know if it's true or not being 3rd hand info. Would be nice to find out if it's true.

  35. fork you thrasher!

  36. All the blame needs to lie right on Gahan for this park and events. Gahan operates no different than England. England is a thug and so is Gahan. Taxpayers want to throw you out!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Can someone ask john Gonder where that ethics commission is at? Us third floor people are not aloud to talk to any council people.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Your right it was asked in the meeting 85,0000 came right from Gahan.
Gahan your not shopping at Koerber's with Stan Robinson are you?
Robinson I hope your still not committing adultery!

    ReplyDelete
  39. It's OK 4:08. Gahan knows he's through. I heard him say he's finished with being mayor after this term because the people won't vote him back in. He knows. Wow. Smart.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I agree he is through,

    yours truly suzie

  42. Concerned NA CitizenOctober 3, 2012 at 6:28 AM

Yeah Gonder. Where is this almighty Ethic's commission. Since you are complaining that the City didn't follow it's own Tree ordinance and you are on the city's tree board. That can be your 1st case for the ethic's commission. What about the bushes they tore out. Is there a bush board also. Shouldn't trees and bushes have the same right's. What attorney will be representing the tree's if this goes to court? Inquireing minds want to know.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Gonder is getting high listening to "The Trees" by Rush.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Bush board...yeah, um...never mind.

  45. NO ONE WANTS A FIRE STATION IN THEIR BACK YARD. LET US PUT THE FIRE STATION IN MALYSZ AND GAHAN'S BACK YARD.

CAN THIS TOWN GET ANY CRAZIER ? ?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Gonder is a gutless wonder, talks a big game but always lets the Mayor have his way as long as its a democrat.

grow a set Gonder or disband the ethics commission, youre a joke

    ReplyDelete
  47. Concerned NA CitizenOctober 3, 2012 at 7:04 PM

I didn't realize they were going to put a fire station in someone's back yard. I thought the proposal was to have it built on the camille wright property for free by Kroger. It doesn't get any better than that. Having a firehouse built for free and not costing the taxpayers a penny. You people need to stop complaining and look how much money the city is going to save.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Just in case you are new to New Albany 3 out of the 5 current fire houses are on "someones backyard". I know they should move them all out to the industrial park, Get over it.

    ReplyDelete
  49. There is a big difference between having a park in your back yard and a firehouse. The people were there first! They didnt buy their property hoping that in 2012 the city would turn the park into a firehouse. Nothing requires the firehouse to be built at that exact location. Why not look at other alternatives if they are going to move it?

    ReplyDelete
  50. hey floyd dumbocrooks what are you giving away at your HH booth this year absentee ballots for illegal aliens and dead people?

    ReplyDelete
  51. 4 1/2 acres. The firehouse will take a small portion of that area. VGet over it you cant stop it.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hey Jeffy boy is your ethics commission going to cover up the complaint against your backstabber E.D. suckass Duggins?

    ReplyDelete
  53. DO IT--SEABROOK LIVES IN GAHAN'S BACK YARD!!!

The event's the ethic's commission with hear if ever about will be old news by the time it goes in front of them. Government moves at a snails pace when they have to deal with stuff they don't want to. But something they are wanting to get thru in a hurry. Look out. They will move the universe to get it done. And crush anyone who gets in thier way.

  60. Concerned NA CitizenOctober 5, 2012 at 5:52 AM

12:31. The Indians were here long before us and look what happened to them. That statement " these people were here first " doesn't hold any merit. The city can build any structure as long as it's passed by the zoning commission and the construction is passed by the buildiing inspector. The city council will not be involved in this because there is no money involved by the city. It is all in the mayor's hands. It's gonna happen. Just sit and watch.

    ReplyDelete
  61. 5:52 of course it is going to happen! The city adminsitration has no concerns for the citizens. Why is a non-locally owned business like Krogers more important than the citizens of this community? Krogers is not going to leave if they dont get the land! Please dont tell me it will bring jobs. Is five more low paying jobs for cashiers and baggers really worth it?

    ReplyDelete
  62. buy local drink your beer at Hugh Birs and boycott the commie Roger baylor

    ReplyDelete
  63. Concerned NA CitizenOctober 5, 2012 at 10:26 AM

I think the city has concerns for is citizens but the citizens have to give and take. It's to the point now that any time a project comes up to help the tax base and econimic growth in this city everyone cries wolf and want's it somewhere other than close to them. Good lord a pool was in that area before. All the hazards along with that. Chemicals, unsanitary water conditions and 100 yelling screaming kids to listen to all day. The only time you would hear the sounds from a fire truck would be when it was getting ready to go out on daisy lane. Consider a park. Dogs crapping in the grass. who knows what illegal activity would go on in there after hours. trash all over the place. People who use parks tend to leave messes for someone else to clean up. Just go walk around the lake at community park. The same trash has been out there for years and is still there. And don't think a park wouldn't be noisy. I can see it now. The police will be out there every night running people off.

  64. I have a fire house in my backyard. You get to the point where you no longer hear the sirens and my home insurance is lower because of it.

    ReplyDelete
  65. 8:54 which was there first, you or the firehouse? Did the sirens make you go deaf and that is why you no longer here the sirens? Your insurance is no lower from the firehouse being in your backyard than those that are within a couple miles of you.

  67. Get Dave Duggins out of New Albany. Cutting deals with Roger or getting him involved over a firing of Mike Ladd. It is unethical and not business minded. Dave is a Clark county boy, lets keep him there.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Dave hangs at wicks or Rogers place, hope he does not get picked up for another DUI.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Can someone answer what does Maryann the controller do. I attend council meetings and she is never there. The legislative body handles the money but they never see a controller. New Albany will never change in its practices. Gahan said change he is full of bull.
