SIGNS DON'T VOTE

The proliferation of political signs which abound right now in this City are all over the place; i.e., public right-of-ways, vacant lots, etc.

When friends would state there sure were a lot of BACK JACK signs out compared to Gahan, we laughed and said "signs don't vote".   We were right.  (Personally, Jack, how does it feel to have so much smoke blown up your backside?)

We will be interested in eyeballing the financial reports all candidates filed located in the County Clerk's Office.  How much money for each vote was spent what with only a 20% some voter turnout?  We remember an election where the candidate only spent $7,000.00 and received 21% of the vote.

Personally, this family favors no police officers in a government position where they vote on our tax dollars for their use.

Great job, Jeff.

  1. Time for Litterbug Bagshaw to visit those foreclosed homes and get his signs out.

  2. Roger, you need to fixate on something else besides badmouthing people. So does your friend Matt Nash. Apparently, he has nothing better to do than diss Vicki Denhart over the beer she so thoughtfully took to Jeff last night. I saw her reach up with it, and I was close enough to hear him chuckle. He was gentlemanly about it, but too busy to pop it open and take a drink. The beer is not still there, and Jeff really appreciated it. I doubt he thinks much of the petty crap going on online.

KT, we're with you 100%! We wanted a couple of other winners from the opposing party, but it's OK for now. We'll get on and move forward from here.

P.S. Roger, the days of free patios are gone, and the days of kissing @$$ for certain businesses are gone. You and your cronies might as well get over it.

  3. Agreed, 5:04. With everything.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I was close enough that Vicki bumped into me as she staggered up to the stage. She did it so people would think her and Jeff were close and for no other reason.

He left that mass brewed beer where she put it and went out and drank a locally brewed beer.

  5. I wouldn't be acting so snarky, 5:48. You don't have any great in with Jeff. Vicki's got it. You don't. And you can't stand it.

Oh, by the way, let's not mislead the readers into thinking Jeff stooped so low as to drink your swill, Roger.

    ReplyDelete
  6. For your information 5:48 Mrs. Denhart didn't staggered up to the stage. She was on the right side and was considerate enough to let him finish is statement line. Mrs. Denhart doesn't drink at those kind of political events, only when she is home or out with friends for dinner.
If your going to make a statement get your facts right at least.

  7. All of the little people think they know exactly who Jeff is, eh? Interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yes, you are right we need to check out the financials.

When is the deadline for candidate financials, anyone know?

    Good riddins to Doug England!

  9. I think Jeff will be a great mayor. It's good to know my vote counted.

What concerns me NOW is the over 1,000 absentee ballots NOT counted in the primary and is currently being investigated.

I heard about this election night from Sheriff Darrel Mills.

  10. Was at the KofC again this morning..the beer is still there!

  11. Well I never been on here before. So somebody just showed it to me here in the office. Now I get to have my say. I did see Vicky Denhart go up to the front. She and Jeff shared a kind a cute little privite joke and she handed him the beer. I think Vicky Denhart is the best and most caring of the people who say they want to help this town. Vicky did not staggard up to the stage. She walked up. It is rude for you to say she staggard. For once somebody cares about what happens in this town that is not more about caring about thereself. Its the first time in a long time and it's high time the good Democrats get together and help out the cause. We need to be rid of the crooks and those wierd new people who say their Democrats but there not. I can't spell too good and I have taken a hour about to write this. But I had my say. Vicky is good to us and you could see she and Jeff are good friends. Since I was at the K of C on Tuesday night, I'll tell you what happened to the beer. It set up there for a very long time. Jeff forgot about it. But later it started to clear out. then after a while I saw Jeff. He looked around the room. He smilled and he sort of took a deep breathe. Then he went up there and took that beer and slipped it in his pocket. He looked around the room again. People kept talking to him and all. He finally got out a there.

  13. Vicky for Deputy Mayor!

    ReplyDelete
  14. No, she stumbles and staggers too much. Let's get Professor Erik to step in as deputy mayor.

  15. Gahan's not having a Deputy Mayor. You would know this if you were at the K of C elections night.

    Gotcha!!!!!!!!!!

  17. How many beers has Rog bought England? I didn't think so. At least she shoppes local.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Good Grief! Don't we have other important issues to discuss besides a friend buying a friend a beer?
Our city is going to hell in a handbasket and you jealous morons only concern is beer.
Get a job or are you blogging on taxpayers time and money?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I was there and I saw Vicki give Jeff the beer. It was a very tender and touching moment. Jeff later said that her kind jesture had touched him deeply and that he would be forever greatful to her.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I agree 11:49 get over it . It's a beer.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm sure the kindness did touch Jeff deeply. I was there and halfway saw the incident. As far as I could tell, it was well received. I can't imagine Jeff would have been mean about it. Also, I imagine Jeff would not be rude to Roger selling his stupid beer, even though he is rude to everyone else and makes a mountain out of every anthill. Roger's rudeness is well known, Jeff's good nature is well know. Enough said.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Vicki made all of us other girls jealous by flirting it up with our new mayor.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Don't some of you have some dishes to wash or an unemployment claim to file? If you do I suggest you stop blogging and stop the uncalled for B/S.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Just more of your smoke and mirrors 12:23.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Bite me 1:28.

I know like many others we all had to make the bad choice to vote for Gonder and Baird. But that's the price we've paid to get England out.

    ReplyDelete
  27. You've got to be kidding about Gonder being a bad choice. I voted for him with enthusiasm.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Baird was our choice over England, also. But, it was tough to vote for someone who does not pay property taxes and feels our pain.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Gonder is a flaming liberal. Spend, spend, spend.

I did NOT vote for Gonder. Enthusiastically.

    ReplyDelete
  30. England was shocked but the hand writing was on the wall. Maybe now we can find out where all our money went. We each need to pray for our new mayor. He's got a mess to undue and make the best decisions he can make for the betterment of all the citizens of New Albany.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 3:06 time for baird to be looking over the budget line by line. look good and hard at the salaries and legal fees paid to attorney's. dont forget the attorney's personal secretary that is now on the city's payroll and doing work for his private legal firm while on the city's payroll.

    ReplyDelete
  32. The City Attorney is not "on the payroll." He's a contract employee.

    ROFLMAO

    ReplyDelete
  33. Don't know who you're talking about doing dishes, but I know someone who's headed out of town on a rail and I'll gladly lead the way shoving him.

And, no, it's not England. He already lives out of town.

    ReplyDelete
  34. And, I agree with you, 7:24, that the city attorney is a contract employee. We'll see if Gahan keeps him. Rumor is, he's setting Gibson up to stay on board.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yeah, well if he does, then we just re-elected the England administration. He'd be a moron to keep Gibson.

    ReplyDelete
  36. 7:24 goes to show how little you know. He is paid a salary and for contracted billable hours. its the uninformed like yourself why things like that are allowed to continue. time for people to really get invovled and know just what is going on down there.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I heard that Professor Erik has been taking law school classes and will have his Juris Doctorate at the end of this semester.

Jeff plans to keep Gibson on as city attorney in 2012 but then fire him when Erik passes the bar in January.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Interesting how conveniently they call Gibson a salaried employee when it suits them and a contract employee when it suits them. That's one very clever way of keeping the Tribune from listing Gibson as the outrageously overpaid top salaried employee. Very interesting, 7:24, 7:29, and 7:36. I see how they work these things out in the administration of crooked deals.

    ReplyDelete
  39. PEOPLE.

Gibson's out the door. Jeff has more going on in his brain than to keep that loser on his staff. He has more integrity than to even consider it.

Yes, everyone's suddenly putting the pressure on Jeff big time. But to think that Jeff would stoop to England's lever is pretty lame of all of you.

Did you vote for Jeff? Then believe in his ability to do the right thing.

    ReplyDelete
  40. 8:51 yep paid a fixed salary with family health insurance pension and benefits and paid hourly as a private contractor through his law firm. one would have to be able to sort through it all to find out how much is really being paid. be nice if gahan would find out once and for all and tell the citizens the real truth on the amount being paid.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I figure it's easily into the $200K range because the idiot told me himself what he makes. I went in there and asked him. And he told me. I added it up. It's over $200K. Don't remember how much exactly because he doesn't matter any more than he thinks I do.

    ReplyDelete
  42. You asked if we believe that Jeff would stoop to England's "lever," 9:35? I don't think so. I think Jeff is straight.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Phipps might stoop to Engand's "lever".

    ReplyDelete
  44. Really, people? Pretty rude.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Funny how Roger is bashing England nonstop now that England is of no use to Roger. Guess he’s trying to work his way in with Gahan. Sooner or later Roger’s true colors always show to those who choose to run and be part of his pack of dogs. Roger’s nothing but a two faced bearded skank who will use you all you can and when he is done with you he’ll lift his hind leg and piss all over you.

    Pissed on and over it.

  46. Shane and Carl are out the door. Jeff told me so himself. The first piggy to the trough was Warren Nash.

    ReplyDelete
  47. 12:08 a former mayor in Gary Indiana is going to prison for the same thing England done for Roger. He just happen to be Doug's mentor. Watch and see what comes out of the books when Gahan gets them open. You are right he will turn on you in a minute the progressives 'eat their young.' Gahan has no use for Roger and the phonies. He's made way more enemies than he knows. Just learn from your mistakes Roger is a user.

    ReplyDelete
  48. It's just a matter of time before he closes.

    ReplyDelete

  50. LOOKING FOR DM BAGSHAW

Has anyone seen DM Bagshaw since the election? I havent seen him since he trashed our neighborhood by putting his unwanted signs in the yards of foreclosed properties. Of course those signs still remain. If anyone sees him, tell Mr. Litterbug Bagshaw we would appreciate it if he would come back and clean up the litter he spewed all over our neighborhood.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'd have to agree with 1:15. He thrives off of the attention and the amount of effort spent keying his name and going ons. But, that's just my opine.

  52. New Albany's new mayor to name transition team next week

New Albany Mayor-elect Jeff Gahan said he will publicly name the transition team that he says will help him prepare to take the administrative reins of the city “by the end of next week.”

The mayor-elect said “I’m in no hurry” and will take whatever time is needed to make the right choices of department heads for his administration. “I’m going to be very deliberate about it,” Gahan said.

Outgoing Mayor Doug England has been urging Gahan to retain Police Chief Todd Bailey and Deputy Mayor Carl Malysz.

Gahan reiterated in an interview that “No, there will not be a deputy mayor” in his administration.

England, for his part, said he is advising his successor to go slow on making any key personnel changes and first get a feel for the executive branch by listening to the current staff. “He needs to be clearly informed of what’s going on,” the mayor said. “Give them about a four to six months probation and then make a decision” on whether anyone needs to be replaced, England said.

Gahan isn’t likely to take that advice. Despite not being in what he said is any particular hurry the mayor-elect said, “Before the end of the year we’ll have everybody in place.”

  53. I find it funny what England said about giving the third floor a "probationary" period. Yeah, right.

    ReplyDelete
  54. It's a no brainer. They all need to be replaced. That's why we voted for Gahan. Let's see if he follows through with what the voters want.

    ReplyDelete
  55. “He needs to be clearly informed of what’s going on,” England said.

If the England administration has not been clearly informing the council of what's going on, then that's even more reason to get rid of them all!

    ReplyDelete
  56. LOL. Yes. Very funny, that bit about a probationary period. Pretty stupid idea.

Carl is definitely out the door. Heard that Warren has been begging. Begging and bragging.Shane? Nope. Can't see anyone with half a brain to keep him on. He's likely to be subpoenaed and made to give information. Kay's probably already hidden most of it. Or her daughter. Somebody told me England is telling Jeff to put Shane in as Controller. Yeah, right.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Why don't you leave the man alone he just buried his mother-inlaw.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I agree with 5:33. 5:55, if you are SO bothered by his signs how about getting off of the Internet and take them down yourself and do a good deed for a grieving man?

    ReplyDelete
  63. I think it's time to turn Spring Street back to three lanes so it will help with the back ups due to bridge closing. Let's remove the bike lanes so traffic can flow better.

    ReplyDelete
  64. 6:15 Candidates have the responsibility to pick up their signs that they have illegally place on private property, not the citizens! DM Bagshaw trespassed onto those foreclosed properties and littered those yards with his unwanted signs. He should be the one to clean them up. After all, if he is going to break the law and trespass to put the signs there, then HE should be the one to break the law and trespass again to remove them. Citizens should not have to be the ones to break the law by trespassing to clean up his mess. If he expects others to break the law to clean his mess up, then it is a good thing he won't be sitting in the Mayor's seat. You mention he is unable to clean up his mess due to personal circumstances. He should contact the Republican Party Chairman and see if arrangements can be made for others in the party to do it for him. How about that Rutherford you speak so highly of?

    ReplyDelete
  65. First of All 6:15.... Bagshaw didn't put those signs in foreclosed property .... I did !!! And I talked to the bank who now owns those properties and they gave me permission ..... Furthermore from the looks of your crappy house that sign is the best looking thing around your place!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. 3:54 such a liar, some are not even bank owned. Any how, then you should get your lazy @ss back out and clean them up! I'll relay your message to the neighbors that representatives of DM Bagshaw feel that his signs are the best thing around our place. No wonder why he LOST. He and his representatives have no respect for the citizens of this community or their neighborhoods. Why would anyone want to him as Mayor if he feels it is ok for his representative to trash our neighborhoods. If he would have listened to the citizens he would have known that the citizens want this city cleaned up. Instead, Bagshaw and you decided not to listen and trash it more.

    ReplyDelete
  67. 4:14 I agree. Time for him to get those signs picked up.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Is Dale Bagshaw related to Edward “Dale” Bagshaw who was charged Sunday in Jeffersonville with stabbing his wife to death as their two young childrent watched?

    ReplyDelete
  69. You know, I'm reading these last few posts and I'm just shaking my head. You, Joe Citizen, need to simply go over there, remove the signs, stack them, and then call Dave Matthews yourself. If they're getting to you THAT much, then don't sit on the computer and complain. DO something.

That's what's wrong with all the complainers and whiners around here. They won't say anything nice. Instead, they get on here and rant against someone who's already probably feeling beaten by a big loss. I'm as glad as any of you that the Democrat won, but, my heavens, let's be gracious!

Ever notice that the loudest screamers do the least work to make New Albany a better community?

    BRILLIANT!

    ReplyDelete
  74. England's in bed with DNA. DNA hates New Albany First. Why would he give money to NA1 and not his wife's group?

    ReplyDelete
  75. What I am saying is. As the traffic comes off of Clarksville into New Albany down by Vinc. Street change them back to three lanes so the traffic can flow better to Georgetown and Greenville. With the two lanes only now at high traffic times it can help those folks get home faster. And I am one of them.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Rogers only concern when it comes to New Albany in his own words is this: "all the local profit go into my pocket." Hmmm, that says all I need to know.

    ReplyDelete
  77. The money New Albany First has asked for is $40,000.00, not $80,000 - but it is for two years (which I guess adds up to $80).

This may be one group independent of government and deserving for local businesses.

    ReplyDelete
  78. New Albany exists only to help you get home faster. Go to hell, county boy

    ReplyDelete
  79. 7:01, your comment is the smartest thing I have ever read on here. Bravo.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Amen to that, 7:01! Nice comment.

As for New Albany 1st, all NA1st is, is a group of malcontents who couldn't get along with anyone else around here (and certainly not DNA). So they stormed out of meetings and b!tch*d and groaned until they came up with the idea that they can invent the scenario where they're the saviors of New Albany and the "ONLY grassroots" effort to do so. They think that by saying this and publishing this online over and over and over again people will believe it.

No, you can count on NA City Council to consider it a no-brainer to deny NA1st its request for $80,000. And it'll be the best thing this Council will have ever done.

    ReplyDelete
  81. No offense, 6:31 - but I have been told they already have their six votes needed.

  85. There is nothing non political about NA First...It is run by a group of die hard Democrats and yes, I also understand they have the votes lined up to pass the resolution. 80 K for an organization which was formed by a group of self-aggrandizing political wannabes for their own self promotion is unconscionable. But...stand by and watch..it is going to pass through. Sad.

    ReplyDelete
  86. New Albany First is a non-profit organization dedicated to the task of supporting locally owner independent businesses in New Albany. Is it the taxpayers obligation to support this group?

No! Regardless how much you get from anyone, you cannot force people to shop downtown. You all have over priced your products, your business and your worth.

    ReplyDelete
  87. You got a free patio how much more do you want?

    ReplyDelete
  88. You nailed it, 10:55. NA First is quite political. They're not Democrats, they're "Progressives." Big difference. Not much progressive about them, but they do seem to know how to line up votes. It's disgusting that they've got things arranged in advance.

These self-aggrandizing political wannabes are asking for $80,000 so they can pay THEMSELVES to have their own club, begun after stomping out of meetings and quitting other grassroots organizations, and before several of them made failed runs for public office.

They deserve no consideration whatsoever by the Council or by any other serious entity and aligning one's business with them is a sad mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  89. New Albany First maybe a non profit but to say taxpayers should fund your organization is wrong 80 thousand dollars!!!
Where are you people coming from. Can you not get enough memberships behind the organization to pay for part time help. List your memberships
Your jumping a little pre mature John Gonder

    ReplyDelete
  90. Being a non-profit doesn't mean you want to take taxpayer money to pay people for a cause YOU made up (that cause being to support local business while slapping other truly grassroots efforts and the hard work of dozens and dozens of business owners.

Baylor says DNA is in bed with England. Really? I don't think so. Don't see how. And, anyway, what's so wrong about being an entity our mayor supports? Whatever you think of England, it's still right for him to support local business in our city.

You people make me sick. I need to go vomit now.

I have heard that Shane wants to run against Keith Henderson in the next election.

Like after the most recent and humiliating defeat, that would be a good idea. Shane needs to stay off the ballot. He's a moron.

  118. Where is citizens for accountability, the council is going to shore up the budget shortfall tonight. And yet your not shouting from the roof top. What will this solve if the core of the problem is not taken care of?
Vickie your the general with all the figures can you get us that information???

  119. Tonight is the vote! There are some other interesting things on there tonight as well.

  121. How about Gahan's transition team?

    ReplyDelete
  122. It's a little heavy on people currently and formerly connected with public schools, don't ya think?

    ReplyDelete
  123. Oh, does he have a connection to the schools? What did you expect?

    ReplyDelete
  124. I agree with 6:47. Although it's not terribly heavy with public school people, it is slightly alarming that Mr. Gahan, who is basically married to the school system, would find it necessary that school people would need to give him so much of a voice in his choices. Even I can see where that's going, and I'm a Democrat. The Republicans will scream to high heaven.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Oh yes, I heard it too. Shane is defanitely in the running to be chosen as the special prosecutor. Anyone who is currently in Henderson's office has a conflict of interest,so they are looking for someone outside of his office. I was told that the court can select any licensed attorney who has sufficient experience as a prosecutor. Wouldn't that be a whoopin?

  126. Seems like a single beer 8:58 get's you a lot. I saw Gahan, Denhart and Bearsley leaving a certain local resturant. Question what you hear and believe what you see.

  127. Let me see if I understand the reasoning of the people who post on here:

    Budweiser=Good
    Educators=Bad

    makes sense to me!

    ReplyDelete
  128. 11:14, if they select Shane, which they may do on purpose, then the case against Camm is over. Gibson's a shyster. He'll never win the Camm case because he's incapable of it.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Gibson's stupid. As for the educators, the ones mentioned won't do anything stupid. I'm one who thinks the schools ought to be working in tandem with the city. They all could stand to get together.

    ReplyDelete
  130. 60 to 70 people were at the restaurant. Why so selective in your names?

Is it a peace offering putting Wilcox on the transitional team? We remember his support of Stumler. He doesn't really have any knowledge of the City except his loyalty to England and believing everything England says and does. Who knows?

    ReplyDelete
  131. The city and school systems are totally different. The city I know financially cannot help them out!

    ReplyDelete
  132. You hit the nail right on the head FOS. All these bastards want is a hand out. Start a group you foot the bill not us.

  135. Looks like the wannabe's (New Albany First) got slapped down tonight. It got tabled. You can fool some of the people some of the time but not all the people all of the time.
    ROFLMAO

  136. The State handles all the school issues. The city has 'no' funds or say in regards to schools. Just ask any School Board member. In fact what the city has been doing for the last four years with TIFS has hurt funding of all local schools.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Since the NAFC Schools have received more funding, they're not hurting at all. They whine that they get less, but they keep getting MORE. Bunch a whiners.

I'm glad that $80K for Fluffinstuff's faux grassroots business group was tabled. It should be tabled, like, f-o-r-e-v-e-r!

    ReplyDelete
  138. Amen 7:24. What the hell did Connie Sipes have to do with Gahan's election? At least she was smart enough to get out before the democrats took her out. Wilcox is the England ass kisser an goffer. Zurschmiede, was against Jeff from the get go. He was the man behind 'We Back Jsck.' Why did he chose him and several of the others?

    ReplyDelete
  139. I am so glad NA 1 got tabled should of been thrown out. They don't even have the structure set up right.
Roger says John Gonder bringing out buy local the other members serving on numerous boards have been tallying that for the past few years. Where has Gonder been!
Certain board councilman oh and women serving on other boards always make a stand to give business to local.
Hey Roger maybe we should ask where have you been!!!

    ReplyDelete
  140. Gahan voted for the budget tonight but sitting in that same seat last year was no. Does not make sense.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I imagine Jeff is trying to mend fences with people who 'did him dirty.' His choices show an ability on his part to set nonsense aside and to engage others. Note how he didn't bother with Fluffinstuff and his gang.

    ROFLMAO

    ReplyDelete
  142. But why did he not do it last year or was it just to make England look bad not a team player last year.

  143. Roger A. Baylor announced today on his blog that mass transit (which Jeff Gillenwater then commented is "a mechanism to gather and move much of our human capital within the region," while the bridges is to get "financial capital out of the region") is effectively dead for the next 50 years. He says that "Kerry Stemler's breathtaking arrogance" effectively precludes "civilized public transportation construction for THE REST OF MY LIFE."

Now, considering that "MY" refers to Roger A. Baylor, wouldn't you call his online comments "breathtaking arrogance?"

    ReplyDelete
  144. But clearly, no one reads his blog. Especially not you, 8:20.

    ReplyDelete
  145. People check Fluffinstuff's blog to see what in the hell he's saying next, not because it's any kind of worthwhile reading.

Just like you check out KT, 8:25.
